Well, [she looks the controls over and tries to figure them out. It's not that she's never piloted anything - she has, indeed, piloted a variety of things, most of which so technically advanced that most humans haven't even set foot in something similar yet - but she has never piloted this.

And yet. Things are kind of exploding and they kind of need to go fast. They being her and this guy whom she seems to just? have picked up? along the way. Those things sometimes happen when things aren't going well and everyone is running and you just grab the next person who knows where the hangar is.

Which, in this case, was this guy. She just hopes that he wants to survive this just as much as she does and won't coublecross her before they're out of here. Can you doublecross someone that you haven't even exchanged names with? Who knows. Either way.

As far as worlds that had lain in the path of Hell go, Eorzea - well, all of Hydaelyn really - had done surprisingly well so far. Certainly, the many portals that had suddenly opened and poured forth demons were a dire enough threat that it was already being considered the next Calamity, and it had definitely caught the world's inhabitants by surprise. Certainly, faraway nations had already fallen, demonic strongholds had already begun to take root.

But Eorzea had its champion, and it was not a world like to take a punch without dealing three back. The hordes had been fought back quite some bit by the time the Slayer had followed their hunt, and honestly? That was a damn nice change of pace.

The people he'd talked to here - well, stared expectantly at after ripping through a bunch of demons and had them babble their thanks and explanations - had certainly been keen on mentioning their Warrior of Light. A soldier tasked with slaying gods, heh. Wasn't that something. He'd resolved to find this warrior. If they were as strong as he'd been told, he might finally have an ally on even footing with himself, and maybe, just maybe, he could save a Hell-torn world. For once.

Plus, he'd been told they'd been headed into a great, fleshy demonic nest off Eorzea's coast, and well. That wasn't amateur shit. They could probably use his help, and he'd get to tear apart a hellnest while he was at it.

The Slayer didn't find Squirt where he expected to, and that turned out to be a good sign. Rather than at the nest's threshold or down one of its twisting gullets, he followed a trail of slain demons to its pulsing center and came across the... tiny man collapsed just before the beating heart of the thing, clearly badly wounded and struggling to stand.

The single last imp descending on the Lalafell met its end in a shotgun blast and a spray of blood. The sound of the gun being deftly reloaded echoed wetly in the chamber, and the Slayer lifted the weapon to rest against his shoulder, tilting his head down at Squirt.

This was their Warrior? Huh. Takes all kinds.

Why in the world were they always fighting? She understood sparring, but not going for blood. She remembered her mother when she was little saying; "Someone you care about goes for blood. The relationship is pretty much over. Blood is sacred, Rin. No blood should be split." She didn't understand then, but she understands now.

She walked away from the sleeping form of her husband, and went into the bathroom to grab the heavy duty toolbox of first aid. She would use a curaga once it had healed half way, but … the magic was faulty since time compression. She was afraid, his insides wouldn't heal too well. They were finding ways to fix the junctioning but it seemed too unstable. They'd probably have to relay on items in the future.

She dragged the box into their private dorm bedroom, and sat on the edge of the bed. Quietly she opened the box of medical supplies and turned toward Squall, she leaned over and kissed him on the forehead.] Hey, Sleepyhead. Get up. We've got to fix that wound and then you need liquids and yumyums. [Hm...maybe she should cook first but this couldn't wait. She shook him gently.]
