[ Muted responses are to be expected; Q knows what country he's in and what field he's chosen to make his living from. But there's just enough history of little moments similar to this one that he can read between the lines; message received, let's move on now.

Now it's Q's turn to look surprised, and he's a bit less graceful at hiding it. There's plenty of reasons he doesn't do fieldwork himself, and weighing less than Agent Carter likely does is only one of them.
