trust ONLY you Intimacy is wonderful, no doubt...but you just can't. For you, you can't let someone in like that, can't let your guard down, or just don't want to. There's also the possibility that you actually cannot be close and candid like that, unless you want to risk their safety and yours. It could, however, be a much more normal case: you were burned in the past by someone, and you don't want that to happen again, or no matter how much of an open book you are in all other aspects of your life, sexuality makes you clam up and retreat. You just can't be with someone - at least not just anyone. Until the right person comes along, then everything changes. Their strength, their kindness, or their trust in you makes you trust them; finally, there's someone you can be honest with and be comfortable enough with to explore a side of you that's had to be locked up. Whenever you have an urge, you can turn to a partner who can give you relief. Whether your tastes be a kink you've always secretly had or just a vanilla, consensual connection, don't be hesitant to let go. Comment with your character, preference, character's role (trusted or the one with trust issues), etc. Reply to others and thread out as you desire.

this is incredibly vague, but the first thing i thought of was sam helping scott think of himself as someone who can make a difference or... something like that? i mean, sam's an avenger! and scott sort of saved the world but he could never compare to an avenger! not to mention he's the first of the supers who kind of took him in and/or noticed him ]

( so scott kind of figured this'd be the deal with the whole "you'll become a wanted man" schtick captain america gave him the first time they met: no re-entry into society, no seeing his daughter for a while, none of that. and like, he gets it. he signed up for it. in his attempt to save the world somehow in whatever way he can he also lost a chunk of it, and maybe that's over-dramatic but sue him.

he worries a lot, much as he hides that worry under all his (as he calls it) charm and his (also as he calls it) witty remarks and the lengthy discussions he may or may not be able to have about old sunday morning cartoons. he'd just returned into cassie's life and now he's out of it again. it messes scott up something bad, and then bad enough that he can't stand being alone with his thoughts any more.

he doesn't have any intentions to talk about anything in lengthy detail when he finds sam in the morning, a mug of steaming coffee held in either one of his hands. scott nudges one of his biceps with the side of it, offering the drink with a half-smile, and he figures if there's anyone who's good at making conversation that isn't going to make his head hurt, it's this guy.

the falcon is admittedly pretty cool. )
