Part of the appeal of the (under)age difference kink, as in legal-aged characters being involved with those that are underage, is how absolutely taboo and fucked up it is in most cultures. Romance is nice, but let's be honest; it's messed up, even if there is a romantic element. And that's what makes it fun. This meme is for nitty, gritty, not always pretty side of underage. You can play the psychological angles of both sides, whether their actions makes the older party tormented for their decision, and all the filthy, dirty, guilty, and sexy facets this kink can offer.

But my character is a good dude and would never _____! Well, you can always say it's a moment of weakness, they didn't think, aliens made them do it, emotions made them do it - or say fuck it, it's a meme. Make them feel guilty about it later.

But my character is underage and I want them to be the older party. Age them up or play against someone younger.

the dæmon meme

dæmon: the inner-self of a human physically manifested in the form of an animal called a 'dæmon'. the animal is the most intimate expression of the human's inner soul, the form of the animal directly representing that person's true personality.

they are, in effect, the other half of your soul, sharing your thoughts and knowing everything about you. and despite whether or not you want them, they are with you for life, your closest companion.

how do your character's interactions with others CHANGE now that a part of their soul is wandering around with them?

suggested ideas:
  1. standard slice of life. you are going about your life, either in your canon, or in the world of the golden compass. hell, even make a modern au. the conflict here is up to you.
  2. dæmons are generally the opposite gender of their human partner. however, yours shares your gender. what are the implications of this? how do people treat you in the street?
  3. intercision. you have been cut away from your dæmon. you are a freak to the rest of society. you are empty, severed from part of your soul.
  4. intimacy. you never touch another's dæmon-- unless, of course, you are in a sexual relationship with them. what's that first touch like?
  5. settling. for younger characters: your dæmon has finally chosen their final, adult form. how does this make you feel? you're an adult now, how do your peers view you?
of course, you're free to do whatever you want with this universe, the only requirement is that your character have a dæmon!

This meme is for the concept of choice and your characters making decisions. Say there's a point in canon where they're given a choice and they take one. What would happen if they took the other? What would change? Would things go better or worse? Explore at your leisure. Alternatively, come up with a new choice to make. Which is more likely? Which is more exciting? Explore both in different threads if you want! No one can tell which is the right decision but you.

note: hopefully, this post will not interfere with the picture prompt meme being posted tomorrow. i intend to keep it to a one and done thing, just serving to announce that i'll be hosting the shipping picture prompt meme on my comm every wednesday from now on. in the future, maybe we can get the meme on some kind of schedule and not have to compete with the standard issue picture prompt one. otherwise, thank you for your time.

Depending on the time and place, these sort of activities may be viewed as harmless or the ultimate taboos, especially if the desired person or act is otherwise "deviant."
