For meme posters that host their images on Imgbb, the hotlink sometimes breaks for people who are trying to access the meme, especially when there are high levels of traffic. If your meme relies on image-based prompts, that can make it difficult to play in.

One suggestion is to rehost the images onto another site. Some alternative hosting sites that have been suggested include:

• Dreamwidth's native image hosting
• catbox.moe - https://catbox.moe/ (No account needed)
• buzzheavier - https://buzzheavier.com/ (No account needed)
• Imgur - https://imgur.com/ (You can upload with or without an account) Edit: Hotlinking is against TOS though it isn't strictly enforced at the moment. Accounts do get banned when found out.
• Piczel - https://piczel.tv/gallery (requires an account)
• Postimage - https://postimages.org/

If you're unable to change hosting sites for certain images, adding image descriptions is a possible solution.

You all have been busy! In fact you've made so many comments on Bakerstreet in the past (nearly) 13 years, we get to move to a new Dreamwidth server!

Starting around 9PM PDT/midnight EDT/4AM UTC on Tuesday, September 17, Bakerstreet will be copied over to the new server. While this is going on posts will be readable, but commenting will be turned off. This will take anywhere from one hour to 12 hours.

After maintenance is complete, we won't need to do this again and everything will be just the same as before for us. We'll just have more room to continue creating our chaos!

Thank you Denise, Mark, and everyone at Dreamwidth for keeping our community healthy!

Regarding the sexting starter meme:

Threads were saved at point of deletion and will be PM'ed to affected parties.

Just to be clear, when counting the cooldown for repeat meme postings on the comm, we use the full 14 days from the day of posting.

This usually means memes will fall on the same day of the week after said two weeks have past.

That said, meme drift does happen occasionally (posting a day/a few hours ahead), or posts get missed. Feel free to bring it to our attention.

Regarding the sudden urge of some meme posters to create Word Association Meme "with a twist" is breaking the current rules.

As far as can be seen just by comparing the meme descriptions there isn't even a real twist to it or any other reason to try to make it a bi-weekly thing. We are going to keep it a monthly meme, so please stop posting it off-schedule and in so doing risking losing your or other players' threads because they will be deleted.

I am allowing the newest one to stay but only because this is the first real announcement about the issue. Anyone reading the Report Problems/Concerns comments know this already, though.

This is a quick note to say I've updated the list of the days (third Sunday of each month) that are reserved for the Midnight Texting meme.

The dates are Jan 17, Feb 20, March 20, April 17, May 15, June 19, July 17, Aug 21, Sept 18, Oct 16, Nov 20 and Dec 18.

This list can be found in the Bakerstreet Rules post at the top of the comm.

Just a reminder for TFLN meme posters to rotate posting times between AM and PM slots, and that tomorrow's meme (Friday July 24th) should be posted in the later half of the day.

Preferably later that right after noon EST, given the early posting the past couple of weeks.

With regards to the love notes and texts meme and the overlaps that occur when it gets posted, we're thinking that perhaps it would work better on a monthly rotation given how there are other texting memes that come up throughout the meme.

If you have thoughts about this before any hard changes are made, we would like to hear back from you guys.

Things to consider:

1) Would the meme take the place of another texting meme when it goes up, like the Midnight texting meme? Or would it post on it's own schedule regardless of what else is posted?

2) Should this be specific to just the texting portion of the meme? Is there an interest in seeing it as a separate meme?

3) The meme as is may get posted more often in February, like the mistletoe meme in December, as was the case this past February.

4) Any alternative schedules/suggestions you think could also work.
