The Female Character & Pairing Appreciation Meme

THE FEMALE CHARACTER & PAIRING APPRECIATION MEME

This is a timely meme if there ever was one! Of course, I'm not talking about anything specifically...uhm, yes. ANYWAY. If you've ever played a female character from a canon dominated by male characters, or even just been a fan of such a character, you've probably noticed something. Your character will never be as popular as the dudes and the bros. You'll have a harder time finding icons, fanart, character studies- in fact, you may even find bashing of your character in disproportionate amounts compared to male canonmates. If you're in games, you may notice people flocking toward your more popular male castmates. You could get left behind when it comes to shipping or smut - or, worst of all, you could be shut out from all CR. That really sucks.

Even on memes, the message is pretty clear. Female characters rarely get the tags their male counterparts do. M/M shipping and smut dominates, and female characters can get called sexist names for daring to show interest in those things.

BUT NO LONGER. This meme is for female characters to get their time in the spotlight. All the lovely ladies are the focus today; you're the ones going to get chased after this time. So whether your poison is angst, fluff, smut, or anything in between, come one, come all. It's ladies' night.

HOW TO PLAY
- Make a comment with your character, canon, preferences, etc.
- Male characters can obviously make top comments to have ladies come to them, but they must be open to m/f. NO M/M ALLOWED.
- Comment to others, making up your own scenario or using the RNG to choose from the ones offered here. Roll once for category, then again

Heroine - She kicks ass, saves the day, and gets the girl/guy in the end!

Imagine a world where everyone has a superpower. ..

Now, of course, you have to understand that if everyone has a power, and everyone's power is more or less unique, then about 90% of those powers are, frankly, going to suck.

Some examples of useless powers:
*Teleport Dog ~ You can teleport a dog exactly six miles south. (Only works on one dog at a time)
*Exact Change ~ Whatever you're buying day to day, you always have exact change for it in your pocket. (But only in coins, no paper bills and it has to be part of your net worth)
*State Line Sense ~ You know exactly when you've crossed the state line. (Not so useful in this day in age as it was back for the bootleggers. And probably headache-inducing if you're flying somewhere)
*One-Inch Levitation ~ Levitate yourself (or anything not nailed down) but only one inch off the ground!
*Reese's Touch ~ Everything you touch turns into Reese's Pieces (or mini peanut butter cups)
*Speak Whale ~ You can speak whale (somewhat more useful in coastal areas than landlocked ones)
*Summon Wasp ~ Just one. Better hope your enemy is allergic (and that you can control the wasp once you've summoned it)
*Teflon Words ~ Whatever you write down slides right off again (particularly bothersome for teachers!)
*Caffeinate Liquids (probably useful for broke college students!)

But the possibilities are literally endless! Use one of these or make up your own! You can even use the handy-dandy Useless Superhero Generator if you want to.
Post your name and canon in the header and your powers in the box, or hell, make up a new one for each thread, it's all for fun, I'm not the boss of you!

Everyone feels jealous at one point or another, whether it's justified or not. What's important is how we deal with it... do we discuss it, fight about it, or plan epic revenge to carry out?

- Post with your character's name/series in the subject as well as any preferences.

1 → wandering eye.

You think your lover has been looking at other's a little too often or flirting too much in your company. You can't keep quiet any longer about it.

2 → simple life

Your friend, family, or lover has always had it so much easier and you can't help but feel a little put off.

3 → don't you forget about me

Your friend or lover has found someone new they want to spend almost all their time with and you can't help but feel a little cheated.

4 → cheated

Forget just a sneaking suspicion. You've caught your lover in the act of cheating and it's driving you nuts. You have to confront them about it.

5 → for the glory

You did all the work, or at least you feel like you did, so why do they always get all the praise?

6 → moved on

You broke up or had a falling out with someone close to you and it's killing you to see how they've seemed to let go and you're stuck standing in place.

You're jealous of any attention they get because you're secretly in love with them. Time to make it known!

8 → always the favorite

Everyone always praises them or they were clearly the favorite child or just more popular with friends. You can't help but hate it.

they're more experienced, either in the bedroom or in the office. Any activity, they outshine you. Who wouldn't feel a little inferior?

The Historical AU Meme

The glory of Rome! The pageantry of medieval times! The etiquette of the Regency era! The glamour of the twenties, the free-wheeling of the seventies, and - of course - the final frontier of the future.

R U L E S:

1. Post your character! Name and series in the subject line.

2. Find someone to play with! Use the RNG for a time period and situation.

3. Make excellent choices!

O P T I O N S:

1) Greco-Roman - Togas! Tunics! Gladiatorial fights and getting stabbed right in the forum! (And that's really sensitive, you know.) Maybe you're in the recently-conquered Londinium, or maybe you've made your home in Pompeii and ... hey, do you hear that?

2) Medieval - Jousting! Pointy hats! Castles! Dormice inside of a rabbit inside of a chicken inside of a duck inside of a swan inside of a pig inside of a cow! Are you royalty, a peasant, or something in between?

3) Renaissance - It's a time of discovery and revelation! New scientific breakthroughs are being made every day, and incredible literature and poems are being written all the time. Perhaps you've made your home in Venice, and you're adding to the flow of progress - or fighting against it.

4) Victorian/Edwardian - Everything is repressed and a series of gestures with a fan can make or break a hopeful suitor's night. There are balls and salons and ridiculously thorough rules of etiquette. Are you solving mysteries with Sherlock Holmes or drinking absinthe in a bar by the Moulin Rouge?

5) 1920s - Flappers! Prohibition! Everyone's dancing the Charleston and watching these new silent movies. That is, unless they've escaped to Paris to drink a lot and write about the human condition. Do you party like the world's about to end or ponder what would happen if it did?

6) 1950s - Are you willing to leave it to Beaver? It's the time of adorable housedresses, three-martini lunches, and everyone owning a brand new refrigerator - on credit! Gee whiz, it sure is great, isn't it?

...wait, what was that about nuclear bombs?

7) 1970s - Disco! Margaret Thatcher! Drugs! The '70s are a time of social upheaval and change, not to mention leisure suits. Are you at the forefront of feminism or busting a move at the discotheque?

8) Present day - it's now! Everyone's got an iPhone and a Facebook and are constantly Twittering about their MySpace. People are more connected than ever, and the world is growing smaller and smaller every day.

9) The future! - The final frontier! Are we colonizing Mars or exploring the galaxy in a big, groovy spaceship? Have we made first contact yet? Has someone finally gotten around to inventing Holodecks? If you can dream it, maybe it's happened!

10) Got a different/better idea? Some time or place I didn't think of? This is for you!

S C E N E S:

1) Having a meal! With your family, your significant other, your best friend. Is it fit for a king or what you've managed to scrounge together from what's left?

2) A night's entertainment! Going to see a show at the Globe Theater, taking in a movie, or watching a troupe of performers put on a passion play - either way, it won't be a dull night.

3) Courting! Maybe you're in an arranged marriage, or necking in the backseat of your best guy's T-Bird at the drive-in movie theater.

4) School! Are you learning from Miss Emmeline at a one-room schoolhouse, taking notes on Latin from the tutor your father hired, or at a British boarding school?

5) It's a party! Maybe you're having a hell of a time at Studio 54 or giggling behind your fan at a ball with your best friend while you wait for the boys you like to ask you to dance.

6) Political intrigue! Is someone trying to stage a coup for your throne? Is your political rival trying to knock you out of the Senate?

7) Rivals! Maybe you're two lords fighting over the same eligible lady, or maybe he's picked on you since you were both kids growing up on the same block.

8) Family! You've got kids now, or maybe you are the kids. Perhaps you're out from dawn till dusk tilling the fields, or your biggest concern is making sure your daughters marry well.

9) Market day! Are you at the mall checking out the newest saddle shoes and cuffed denim? Are you making your way to the nearest town with sheep and cows to sell?

The Let's Get Kinky Meme

1. Comment with your character. Please include the character's name, canon, and any prefs you might have (ex. "guys only" or "no heavy stuff")
2. Tag someone else! Hit up RNG and roll from 1-20 for a kink, or make something up.
3. Be respectful of other players' preferences. Please avoid wank and all of that negative stuff. Let's all play nice!
4. PLEASE BE WARNED, some scenarios in this meme include triggering content! Play at your own risk.

The light stuff;
1. Tie me up; A little loss of control is nice sometimes, isn't it? One of you is bound, be it with handcuffs or something more extensive, at your partner's mercy.
2. Who's your fantasy; You're not who you usually are tonight. Costume or full on role-play, the two of you are looking to spice things up by playing out a fantasy.
3. Play with your food; Foodplay. Maybe you're covered in whipped cream, maybe you're eating sushi off of your partner's abs. In any case, there's some edible assistance involved.
4. Good clean fun; Whether it was work or play, you're feeling pretty dirty, and you need to clean up. Fortunately, someone else is there to make your bath or shower extra fun.
5. A love/hate thing; They're annoying, infuriating, or just someone you ought to hate -- but they're also hot. Despite bad blood, the two of you can't resist each other anymore.
6. Mysterious stranger; Sometimes you just don't want any strings attached. You don't know your partner's name -- you might not even know their face (masquerades and costume parties are great places to hook up), but all that matters is their body.
7. If you could see yourself; That mirror in the room certainly makes things more interesting. Have you ever wondered what you look like when you're getting down and dirty? Now you know.
8. You can leave your hat on; The clothes are what got you going -- so they're staying on. It may be just socks, it may be most of the outfit, but you or your partner are not taking it all off.
9. When you laugh; There's just something about their smile that makes you smile in return. Whether it's nerves, tickling, or just simple joy, at least one of you will be laughing a lot tonight.
10. Get some help; What's wrong with a little assisstance? Today, the two of you are including some friends in your fun -- plastic ones, that is. They come up with some interest sex toys these days.
11. Show me your teeth; Their skin tastes so good, you can't help but bite down. It may or may not leave marks, but you're going to be doing a lot of nipping this time.
12. A blank canvas; Feeling artistic? Well there's no prettier form than the human one, so you're including your partner in your creative efforts. Body painting, modeling, or any other creaive thing you can think of sound wonderful.

The heavy stuff;
13. Know your place; There's a big disconnect in your social position. Maybe one of you is the boss, a government official, or a teacher. Maybe one of you is quite literally owned by the other. Regardless, someone is in a position of power and will take advantage of it.
14. Take my breath away; There are a lot of ways to have control over someone. Taking away a basic function is a pretty effective one of these. Maybe you'll take away their sight or hearing -- maybe you'll steal the very air they breathe.
15. A pretty picture; It's going to be good, and you want to remember it. Photos or video will be taken of your bedroom exploits tonight, and it might not be for your eyes only. There's a big audience out there, isn't there?
16. You've been bad; Someone's crossed you, and you're going to make them pay -- in bed. Roleplay or not, this is angry sex with an element of punishment. Make sure they remember what happens when they piss you off.
17. Hurts so good; You can't help it if you want to see them in pain. Maybe they're as into it as you are, and maybe they aren't, but either way you're going to be rough. This could be anything from spanking to bloodplay.
18.The same blood; Maybe you're brothers or sisters. Maybe you're like brothers or sisters. Either way, your familial bond is being twisted in the most taboo of ways.
19. A business venture; Some people go to their lover for sex. Some people pay for it. One of you is in this for the money, and one of you is determined to get what you paid for.
20. Outside influences; It isn't that you like each other. It isn't that you're even interested in sleeping with them, but for some reason neither of you can control, you have to. You'd better make the best of it!

You know how this works

Hurt/Comfort - Hurt/comfort is a fan fiction genre that involves the physical pain or emotional distress of one character, who is cared for by another character. The injury, sickness or other kind of hurt allows an exploration of the characters and their relationship.

- Post with Character Name | Series in the subject.
- Others respond.
- Roll 1-10 at RNG for a scene, play it out and have fun!

1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little papercut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though...
6. BREAKUP. You've been dumped. You need someone to comfort you, possibly by the one who dumped you.
7. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to makeup.
8. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
9. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheated on, abused, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
10. LOSS. You've experience a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.
11. INSANITY. You're seeing things that aren't really there, hearing voices, or you're just convinced you're at your wit's end finally and you're going to crack. Maybe someone can give you a helping hand.
12. TIRED. You've had a heard life recently and you're just worn too thin to really care anymore. There's no fight left in you anymore. Can someone help change your mind?
13. ADDICTION. Drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, or any other type of addiction has got you in its grasp. First time or relapse. Will someone be able to save you?
14. INSOMNIA. You can't sleep anymore, no matter how hard you try. Maybe someone can give you company.
15. NIGHTMARES. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, you can't sleep without gruesome, horrible nightmares. Either someone is stuck in your dream with you, witnessing it or they're just waking you up, soothing you out of it.
16. BLACKMAIL. You've been caught doing something you shouldn't and you were blackmailed because of it
17. SEPARATION. You're going to be separated for awhile or were separated for a long time. Either make up for lost time or try to spend every last moment together.
18. VIOLATED. You've been violated in some way. Can include sexual overtones or not. Can someone help you through it?
19. STRANDED. You've been stranded somewhere remote, with no help of anyone finding you for awhile. Can you survive this together?
20. SINS. You're feeling the weight of your sins and guilt clearer than ever. Can someone give you absolution or lessen the ache any?
21. SECRET. It's difficult having to keep that secret of yours, be it a relationship or something you just don't want to share with anybody else. Maybe it's okay to talk about it now though...
22. ADDITION. Babies should be joyous things unless you're in a situation where you know you won't be able to care for them. Either you've adopted or found out you're pregnant.

A Moment in Time meme.

There are moments in time when a particular event brings everything and everyone together in sharp focus. Other times, these events are just important to the person (or persons) involved. No matter – it’s history. If you’ve ever wanted to experience or relive these moments through your character, now’s your chance.

There are no tricks, no time-machines, no smoke and mirrors. Simply put: this is a “simple” slice of life meme, where the time and place are significant and provided to you, if you are interested. What your character does and who they do it with is entirely up to you (or to RNG, if you so desire).

How it works:
→ Leave a comment with the usual information in the subject line: character name, fandom. Any preferences, including what you don't want, should be stated as well.
→ Tag around. Feel free to use RNG. Roll it twice: 1-6 for the decade, then 1-3 for the event/scenario. Or just pick whichever one you want. There's also a Random section for stuff that couldn't fit anywhere else.
→ Have fun, and be excellent to each other.
