[ Arthur's practically falling asleep in the chair. His plane had landed forty minutes ago, and he hadn't been able to sleep for the whole flight, jittery and snappish as he replayed the calm phonecall in his head over and over again. Accident. Hospital. Injuries. Big red words even in the most professional of tones, words that had kept the adrenaline in his system through all the whirling chaos until now, until he could sit at her bedside. ]

[ She looks so pale. He tries to remember her flushed and bronzed and happy, swinging his hand, teasing and bickering, the stupid way they'd smile at each other sidelong, enough to make everyone who saw them jealous. Now her fingers are cold where he grips them. ]

[ Arthur's head tips back, and he loosens his tie to expose the long line of his throat. The ceiling is stark white, the lights blurry to his tired eyes, and Arthur hasn't been to church since he was fifteen but he still looks up and prays, as hard as he can, for Quinn Fabray to please wake up. ]

You know, Jason, when Charles is watching after you and considers you to be in his care, he'll give the hospital one of his numbers so he'll be called as soon as you come in. There is no escaping him. He steps into Jason's room and looks him over for a moment. ]

You should consider staying overnight.
