[Snapping awake, Kisuke nearly fell out of his chair. He sprang to life in the middle of what looked like a charming outdoor cafe, in the midst of what looked like a couple dozen teenagers wearing clothes that were a size or two too big for them. His vision was partially obscured by a hat, which he plucked off of his head and looked over with a little scrutiny before he realized he was holding a syringe in the same hand and it was filled with blood. Fortunately, there was a cap over the sharp end of it, otherwise he was sure he'd have stuck himself with it out of inattentiveness.

He was startled when people were looking back at him, even if they weren't focused so much on him as the others among the tables in the cafe. No one knew where they were and there was murmuring that amounted to nothing more than 'Who are you?', 'Have I been here before?' and 'Who was that guy in the diaper?'

Kisuke looked horrified when he heard that last sentence, whirling around awkwardly. He nearly broke his ankle when he realized he wasn't wearing his normal waraji, them being replaced with proper wooden geta. He fell on his backside, crying out--] Since when have I worn these? Who in the world dressed me this morning!?

[In in the distance, a startlingly attractive man wearing just a diaper and a pair of boots ran off, howling with laughter.]

Tell them who did this--the Babymaker!

[Kisuke only managed to look more horrified when he heard the man's 'nickname'.]

In hindsight, it should have been obvious to Thrawn that the object was a Dark Side artifact. The object, a round orb that resembled a timepiece, showed similarities to Nightsister effigies and even bits of jewelry that allowed for shapeshifting. Thrawn figured that it was harmless unless one had the Force.

Unfortunately, the Force is one of the few areas Thrawn knows very little about and doesn't quite understand.

He also made the error of letting Glenn examine it, thinking that his mate might see something different in it than Thrawn did.

All Thrawn knows is that he left for just a minute to go retrieve his datapad, and when he came back to his office, he found a child.

"Glenn? What happened to you?"
