when we were young

Aged Down!

Something has happened to you: Somehow, you've been aged down. Maybe you have memories of being older. Maybe you're aged down in memories as much as you are in form.

Don't worry, help is on the way!

...Whether you want it or not.

What happens next?

Post as either the aged-down character or as a potential finder. How it happened is up to you!

{ooc: Oh my god, why didn't I think of just needing a stronger dose, that's even more hilarious. Now I think I can start us off... just let me know if anything needs to be adjusted!}

[Even among a unique crowd of students, Marion has stood out since her first day in this school. As a first-year, she'd been clearly a couple of years younger than the other students, giving the impression she was probably some kind of prodigy who'd moved up through the school system in her home country. Except according to her records, she wasn't younger at all... at least, not chronologically. Nobody knew how, but the girl had somehow been cursed, for lack of a better term, and grew younger instead of older with each passing day. It meant she got teased by some of the other students at times, and occasionally there'd be incidents when she embarrassed herself by acting more the age she looked than the age she claimed to be. But she never seemed to be aware of this behavior, merely insisting on her actual age and maturity whenever it was challenged. Never mind that being so small, and growing smaller over time, made high school that much more of a challenge itself. She at least excelled in her classes, and applied herself particularly to researching spells and possible applications of powers that might restore her to her "real" age. Having no parents or home obligations, she tended to stay later than most other students before she left...

Today, as a third-year student, she walks the halls after another ultimately fruitless afternoon. The staff of the school, embarrassingly, keep track of her physical age, making her just recently nine years old by the official count. They won't even let her use the school labs without an "older" student present anymore! Not since the incident with the stepstool. Every year, it motivates her to try that much harder to find a way to not just stop the process, but reverse it. If it takes much longer, she won't be able to enjoy being seventeen (for real) and in the prime blush of young womanhood during her high school years! At least once she's home, she doesn't have anyone else there to treat her like a chi-...]

Kayama-sensei?

[She blinks, surprised to see this particular teacher still in the building, standing between her and the exit door. It could be striking to the tall woman just how small Marion is now, looking more like a young elementary schooler wearing a child-sized high school uniform as a costume. She's barely up to the teacher's waist, even, and has to tilt her head up pretty far just to look the woman in the eyes.]

Why are you still here?

[ It wasn't that Nemuri wanted to make the young woman feel inept. As a lady herself, she'd known what it was like to have people look down on your abilities because of your gender - she didn't want to have to add Marion's "age" on top of that too.

However, it was apparent that it was beginning to be physically more difficult for Marion as time progressed. The curriculum of U.A. was rigorous at best, and it was more and more difficult - and dangerous - as Marion tried to overcome the physical challenges of combat. The classroom setting was less dangerous, but accessing the labs and other more finicky equipment was not advisable when one had less dexterity. Even more so when any mistake could cause a literal explosion.

On top of that, Quirks tended to injure their own users the younger they got, so that was another thing to worry about.

She didn't want Marion to see her clouded expression though, so she flashed the young woman a smile. ]

Hello, Marion. I was looking for you, actually.

Done with the day's work?

[Objectively, the school kept Marion's best interests in mind as she grew less physically capable and more prone to bouts of immature behavior. But of course it was easy for her to simply see being treated any differently as being looked down on. And she'd had quite an ego before she started growing younger, so now every little tease from other students or that "for your own good" tone the adults tended to take set her off very easily.

Kayama Nemuri seemed different, though. Marion had grown kind of fond of the teacher lately... which really only meant she didn't have the same kind of outbursts with her as with other teachers. So there was no rude snapping back or haughty overcompensation for her less than imposing physical presence this time. She took the simple pleasantry exactly as presented, not reading any condescension into it at all.]

I guess. They said I should start going home earlier, anyway.

[She, of course, still grumbled constantly about the condescension she read into everything else.

But once she was done with her complaint, she frowned curiously.]

Wait... you were looking for me?
