(CONTENT WARNING. This is a meme about death and may deal with suicide, depression, extreme violence, illnesses, etc.)

This is it. The final curtain. You're at the end of your life, and there's someone here you really, really need to say something to before you die.


CAUSE OF DEATH

1 - Accidental. Nobody meant for this to happen, but it doesn't matter now. Due to negligence, arrogance or just plain bad luck, you've become gravely ill or injured and are now in your last moments. This covers all kinds of accidental deaths--strangulation, drowning, car accidents, unintentional beheadings, whatever you can think of.

2 - Murder. Somebody really didn't like you. Enough to kill you, it seems. You're now dead by someone else's hand. (Maybe even the person replying to you?) As with accidental death, this covers all types of intentional, malicious murder, regardless of method--so poisoning, stabbing, shooting, etc., all work here. Same with all the below options: any possible variation you can think of on it will work!

3 - Suicide. There is no hope for you, and no way out. You've reached the absolute bottom pits of despair, and the only recourse you have is to take your own life. Someone shows up to stop you... but they're too late to help you now.

4 - Terminal illness. You have cancer, or tuberculosis, or cholera back when people got cholera. The doctors have done everything they could and it wasn't enough. The only thing to do now is give your loved ones the bad news.

5 - Starvation. So thirsty. So hungry. Maybe you've been traveling in the desert for hours, or maybe you're just really poor. Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter, because you're slowly wasting away until you're nothing but skin and bones.

6 - Death in battle. You've died a hero's death, and gone out in a blaze of glory. Or maybe you were a coward who got shot for deserting? Either way, you're now a casualty of war. Will you be honored with a parade or scorned as a traitor to your country?

7 - Natural causes. You've lived a long, happy life, and now your story is at an end. In a warm bed, surrounded by your family and friends, you peacefully drift off. Just make sure that you've made a will somewhere, or at least use your deathbed to set the record straight. Otherwise, who knows what kind of squabbles might errupt after you leave this world?

TIME LEFT

1 - A few minutes. You're fading fast and you don't have much, well, any time left. Better tell the person with you that you love -- or despise -- them with your last breath, because you'll never have the chance otherwise.

2 - A few hours. You haven't got much time left. Is there someone you still need to kill? To kiss? Better do it quick. (Note: last kisses not recommended for people dying of highly contagious illnesses.)

3 - A few days. The doctors have given you the news, and it's not very good. You've only got a couple days left to live. You should start trying to make peace with people and saying your final goodbyes with the days you have left.

4 - A few weeks. Take that vacation you've always wanted to go on but never had the chance to. Go do that thing you've never thought you'd be any good at. You've got only weeks left to live. Don't waste them.

5 - A few months. While you aren't quite on death's doorstep yet, your lifespan has still dwindled considerably from what you probably thought it would be. How are you going to spend your last few months on Earth? Making the world a better place and telling your family you love them? Or raising as much hell as possible?

RELATIONSHIP

1 - Lovers. This is your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, mistress, whatever you call them they were the person you wanted to spend your life with. Too bad you don't have much of a life to spend with them anymore.

2 - Siblings. Your beloved little or older sibling is just standing there, watching you slowly waste away before their eyes. Can you say anything to comfort them? Note that it doesn't necessarily have to be interpreted literally; adopted siblings and friends so close they might as well be siblings work too.

3 - Parent and child. Nothing is worse than a parent having to bury their child... except, maybe, a young child now alone in the world after losing their parent. As with the sibling prompt, this can be expanded to include parental figures and people who are LIKE a father/mother to you as well as actual biological parents.

4 - Co-workers, teammates or classmates. You were fighting for the same side. Or you worked together in the same office for years. Or they sat behind you in biology all semester. However you met, how do your react when you find out someone who used to be a fixture in your life is going to die?

5 - Friends. You're the best of friends! You go everywhere together, know all each other's secrets, and are never seen apart. At least, you didn't use to be. Now one of you is dying and the other one is left alone in the world. Or maybe you're dying together. Wait, is that better or worse?

6 - Bitter enemies. You hate, hate, HATE this person. In fact, maybe you killed them. Or they killed you. Or maybe nobody killed anybody and they're just bitter that Mother Nature got to you before they did. Regardless, they want to confront you one last time before you bite it, if only to rub your nose in your imminent demise and their ability to outlive you.

[ Yu didn't answer right away, instead opting to sit first, pulling the Compendium back onto his lap. He opened it up to the entry on Loki, in all his garish, purple bondage suit glory. Instead of teasing or making some comparison, he read over the passage thoughtfully, like it was his first time actually settling down to read it... which was mostly true. There were so many Persona possibilities for his soul, that he often only paid attention to the ones he was using, rather than all of them at once. ]

I think... nobility depends on who's telling the story. The only stories we have are from the view of the 'good' gods. We never really get to hear your motivation for anything.

[ He glanced up at Loki, a small smile coming to his face. ]

I don't think it's fair to judge when there's only one side of the story to go on.

[ To this day Loki still has no idea what the compendium actually says about him, but then he never wanted to be anywhere near an image of himself in purple bondage leather. Gross. ]

Hate to disappoint, but I'm not that much different than they think I am.

[ He answered noncommittally, stubbornly distant. It hurts. He doesn't want to look at this Yu and see someone he loves, someone he watched die.

Because the more this one opens his mouth, the more Loki actually contemplates getting to know him all over again which really only proves his insanity. ]

[ ...what about green bondage leather? ]

[ Yu smiled faintly at that, letting the book thump close. ]

I guess I'll have to see for myself.

[chaostic]

[ Listen, just because he wears leather does not mean he will put on bondage leather.

Loki gives Yu a mock look of contempt. ]

Are you planning to stick around that long? [ A smirk. ] I guess I shouldn't have introduced you to the cats.

[ His jokes: bad. News at 11. ]

[ But it would be hot... ]

[ A bit of a mischievous look came to his eyes. ]

...that was a pawful mistake. You meowit regret it.

[ Fenrir let out a happy purr for emphasis, like he was totally approving of the terrible puns. He shook his head after a moment, smiling. ]

Don't worry; I'll only stay as long as I need to. I don't want to impose.

[chaostic]

[ GROAN.

Why is he laughing? Those were the absolute worst. ]

I'm not worried. I'm sick of having an empty house.

[ That's something he probably shouldn't have admitted but he's used to be a little more straight forward with Yu. ]

At any rate, there is a guest room if you find you'd rather not sleep at the manor.

[ Because cat puns are furr laughing at? ]

[ Yu glanced around the room at that, uncertainty visible on his face, but at the same time, the thought of going back to the manor made him squirm. ]

Honestly, I appreciate it. I'm not really sure how to feel about that place.

[chaostic]

[ Shut up, Yu. ]

You'll get used to it. It's not as bad as it seems when things are operating normally.

[ Despite everything, he had mutual interest in the Maeve's well being. As long as they existed, so did all of them since they are their familiars. ]

I'll take your word on that.

[ He let out a soft breath, a faint smile coming to his face. Was it too much to hope that his friends would appear here too? Maybe... he felt a little uncertain, being by himself here. ]

I... it will probably take me a bit to get used to this.

[ Loki wore a sort of lopsided smile. ]

I somehow doubt that. [ Considering what the last version of Yu got into, as far as the sex exploration in Eros goes, Loki thinks this one will have no trouble blending in. ]

Do you want me to help you figure things out? I can at least give you a tour of the local area.

[ It's stupid he is already finding excuses to spend time with him but he ignores that encroaching thought in favor of Hela finding her way into his lap. ]

[ It probably doesn't help that Yu has the same kind smiles for Loki as his predecessor. ]

I'd like that. Thank you.

[chaostic]

[ It doesn't help in the slightest. It just makes Loki want to kiss him out of habit. If he really thought about Yu was probably the enabler when he let Loki do as he chose in terms of affection. ]

Where do you want to start? The manor or out in the city?

[ They enabled each other, even when they didn't realize it. ]

The city. I think this place is bigger than Tokyo.

[chaostic]

[ As he stood he deposited a whiny Hela onto the chair. How dare her human pillow move.

Loki tugged his jacket off of the back of a chair. ]

Much bigger. [ An impish smile slipped into Loki's expression as he extended a hand to Yu. ] And I know a short cut.

[ Fenrir jumped up onto the chair as Hela whined, giving her a little nuzzle. Yu, meanwhile, smiled faintly, seeming a little shy at taking his hand at first before he accepted it. ]

Thanks. I appreciate this.

[ It's interesting what people will do when he offers them his hand. Do they know they're going to teleport or do they think Loki is just being kind?

The twist of space Yu feels is much smoother, not as disorienting. It feels as if one landscape blends into the next--a busy street with very few cars but plenty of walking traffic. It's the Inventor's Square where all manner of innovative science was put on display. ]

I can't fault Eros for one thing; everything here is extravagant.

[ Yu definitely didn't expect it, and he looked surprised and a little disoriented for a moment. Of course, it didn't last that long, as he was too busy looking around at where they had ended up. His eyes slowly widened as he took everything in, not sure where to look first. ]

I... y-yeah.

[chaostic]

[ Why is this fun, seeing Yu startled by things he should know about all over again? Loki is insane. That much he can come to terms with. He just can't decide if this is him hitting rock bottom or not. Loneliness was inevitable after both Fayt and Yu were gone.

It's almost sick he is even considering letting progress just to see what will happen.

Loki lets go of Yu's hand for now, smirking. ]

Try to look a little less amazed.

[ The sudden lack of contact snapped Yu back to the present, and he jumped slightly, turning back to Loki. ]

Ah--! Right, I'm sorry.

[chaostic]

[ An impish smile. ]

Why are you apologizing to me? I'm merely poking fun.

[ And anyway they have a whole street to make their way down, and if they're lucky, they might be able to get into the town square where everything is set up for sales. They usually have curious gadgets laying about and it happened to be where Loki found the watch her procured for Yu a very long time ago.

He beckoned Yu to follow with a wave of his hand. ]

Ah... sorry.

[ Yu flinched as he apologized again out of reflex, shaking his head. A small huff escaped from him, mostly aimed at himself than at Loki, but despite his warning, he found himself looking around at everything he could see as he followed him. This place... was definitely a lot different from Tokyo and Inaba both. It was a lot to take in. ]

[chaostic]

You're doing it again.

[ He can add Loki blithely pointing it out onto his reflexive flinching. ]

Am I really that intimidating? [ A laugh. ]

[ Siiiiiiiiiiiigh. Yu had the grace to at least look a little sheepish at that. ]

Sorry, there's just been a lot for me to take in at once. It's not you.

[ Although the fact that he apparently knows him, or some version of him, was more intimidating than Loki himself. ]

[chaostic]

And you did it again.

[ He glances over at Yu with a cheshire grin. ]

It's no fun if you get flustered and I'm not even flirting with you yet. [ A wink. ] Here's an idea. Don't think about this place too hard. There are plenty of dark corners, but you don't have to go running straight for them today.

[ He stopped at a stand, picking up one of the steampunk-esque phones being displayed. ]

Live a little.

[ He wasn't flirting... yet? Yu felt his face growing hot, and he had to look away for a moment. Just how well did he know this previous "him"? Did he want to find out? ]

R-right... so-- Ah.

[ Yeah, no, he wasn't going to say it again. He let out a breath, going over to the stand to see the phones as well, peering at them curiously. They looked... kind of cool. Yosuke would really like them, and the thought brought a small smile to his face. ]
