let me dream

❄ it's quiet
and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme
snowfall;
stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white.
stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.
scenarios;
① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.
② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?
③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.
④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!
⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.
⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.
⑦ mix and match, or make up your own.- from krystaliske @ memebells

Right.
[See that? That's him not believing a word out of her lying lie hole.]

.. he got the flight power. He flew away. God, Stiles, you should really be a little less mistrusting!

[Guess what? All the snow around her is now melted. All of it. In a six foot radius. She's now standing in a puddle. Ha, ha. Jade. Ha. Ha.]

So much mix and match. This was coming.
Making up hot cocoa, he filled a thermos with it and slid that warm metal tube into a backpack with two stoneware mugs and a tin of cookies. Sliding into an outfit more befitting the weather, including a silk sweater and a thigh length wool coat that he buttoned up to the scarf about his throat.
He drove to the Stilinski house, glad to see the sidewalk cleared and salted as he headed up to the door and knocked sharply.
You rebel
"For the love of..."
Taking two blankets with him, he made his way to the door as a human blanket burrito, a choice he regretted when he opened the door and looked up to see who the hell was interrupting his warm up time. Cue one look of blank surprise. "Lyndon?"
More like stalker
"Am I... did I wake you up," he asked, looking over the blankets. "I had actually thought you might want to go for a walk or something." He held up the bag he carried. "I've got cocoa."
He winced internally. This was why he wasn't dealing with dating right now. "Okay, that sounded kind of like someone that isn't me. Invite me in, Stiles," he said, smiling widely.
I have a piece of paper that says forty feet, man.
Ah, wait, there it was. That was the Lyndon he was used to. He shuffled back, trying not to trip on the blankets as he opened the door wider. "Sleeping? Oh, no. No I was, um, warming up. Did the walk earlier and my toes..." He needed new boots, clearly.
"Come in." He almost tipped over, but he managed to right himself in time. Why the hell was Lyndon at his house with cocoa?
no subject
"I should have you come over and do my walk," he teased, nudging Stiles. "Where to?"
no subject
He started to shuffle towards the couch, the pile of blankets sitting there in testament of his activities. "Um, grab a seat if you want. Just push the blankets down."
This was so surreal.
no subject
He followed, glancing around curiously. "You really are freezing, aren't you?"
Slinging the pack off his back, he pulled out the thermos, handing it to Stiles. "I've got mugs too," he said, getting them out. "You can pour?"
no subject
He looked at the blankets, kicking at one to move it over. "Um, yeah. I was out for a while and I just... yeah." He reached out for the thermos, looking at Lyndon like he'd been smacked upside the back of the head. Lyndon was having cocoa with him? Was he actually awake?
"Um, sure. Yeah. Uh, sit down?"
no subject
Setting the mugs on the table, he waited for Stiles to pour.
"So..." He wasn't sure where to go with this. Oh wait. "How long did you know without telling me?" Not the best opener but he was curious.
no subject
Moving over to sit on the couch, he unscrewed the thermos and poured out two mugs for them, still a little unsure what was going on. He almost spilled when Lyndon said that, but he caught himself at the last moment.
"Know what?" Yes, he was playing dumb. Shut up.
no subject
He could imagine what Stiles was thinking about the dog and Jackson. He can't say he hadn't thought it himself, but now with Jackson gone and so much in their lives changed, he wasn't going to let the rosey tint he'd given their romance wane.
He also wasn't going to accept that answer.
"You're really playing that card when the cat is out of the bag, and we've burned the bag so it can't go back in?"
no subject
Distractions. Distractions were good.
