let me dream

it's quiet
and the snow's beautiful tonighta winter open meme

snowfall;

stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white.
stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.

scenarios;

① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.

② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?

③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.

④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!

⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.

⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.

⑦ mix and match, or make up your own.

Or entirely the right way, not that Lyndon would admit that and make it obvious. Sliding into the buttery soft seats of his car, starting the engine for Stiles' sake as he turned the heater up, letting the air in the car heat up.

"Sure. If you want. I'll even get you a cake pop if you want," he said, definitely playing with him.

"Ha, ha. You're so funny." Why was Lyndon's car so much more comfier than his jeep? The seats could have something to do with it. He held his hands out to the heaters after buckling himself in, feeling the warm blast against them.

"I told you I wasn't above bribes," he pointed out, moving out into the street with a look over his shoulder. He moved easily through the streets despite the snow. "Prefer a cupcake?"

"No, thanks. Surprisingly not that big into sweets." Unless it was pie. God, he loved pie. And cookies. Okay, those were givens, though. And maybe peanut butter cups, but anyone that didn't like those was crazy.

"I don't remember if I am or not," he admitted, shrugging a shoulder as if it didn't matter much. "Discipline and all. Though I remember loving thumbprint cookies as a kid. Haven't had them in years though."

"Discipline? Come on. You're in perfect shape. You can have sweets whenever you want, Lyndon." Seriously. The guy was built like... well, like a god.

[personal profile] adamo 2013-10-19 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
He glanced at Stiles, smiling a bit at that. "I am, and I need to stay that way. For a lot of reasons. Cookies aren't a regular thing, but maybe I'll have some today." Mostly because the idea of spoiling himself with all of this seemed better than doing without and all that came with the work he did.

"Cookies should be a regular thing for everyone. They're good for... well, everything." He folded his arms and leaned back in the seat, watching as the winter world passed by.

Lyndon laughed then and it was a genuine and honest sound. Looking over at Stiles before gesturing to the dash controls. "You're not cold, are you? I mean, not looking to bake cookies in here," he said, definitely teasing him

"What? No, actually. Good heaters in here." He kept the attempt at some kind of 'hot enough to bake cookies any day' comment to himself. Smart boy, Stiles.

[personal profile] adamo 2013-10-22 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely smart. Lyndon had limits after all. Easily pulling into the parking lot, finding a space up front that was close, and seemingly appeared as if he just expected it to be there.

"I don't need to drop you off up at the door, do I?"

"Are you being smart with me? Because it sounds like you are." He refrained from sticking his tongue out because he was mature (barely), but he did roll his eyes at Lyndon.

[personal profile] adamo 2013-10-23 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
That look and those words only made him grin. "Yes, yes I am. Don't feel you can't say it's too cold to walk. I can drop you off and walk the entire way alone."

Yep, so far. Only a few spaces and then across the lane. He was definitely playing it up for his own amusement.

"I see your sense of humor's suffered from the cold. That's okay. We can't all be perfect." Take that, Lyndon.

[personal profile] adamo 2013-10-25 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
"My sense of humor, like everything else, is always perfect. No, we can't all be perfect. You do handle it better than most though."
teenyoda: (Look - Stressed thinking 1)

[personal profile] teenyoda 2013-10-26 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Thanks... I guess." He gave Lyndon a sideways look, not sure if that was a compliment or not.

[personal profile] adamo 2013-10-28 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
"When you're sure that's applicable, tell me thanks," he said, opening the door. "Come on. I need to stop thinking about things. Distractions are my life these days."
