let me dream

❄ it's quiet
and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme
snowfall;
stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white.
stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.
scenarios;
① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.
② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?
③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.
④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!
⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.
⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.
⑦ mix and match, or make up your own.- from krystaliske @ memebells

He started to shuffle towards the couch, the pile of blankets sitting there in testament of his activities. "Um, grab a seat if you want. Just push the blankets down."
This was so surreal.

He followed, glancing around curiously. "You really are freezing, aren't you?"
Slinging the pack off his back, he pulled out the thermos, handing it to Stiles. "I've got mugs too," he said, getting them out. "You can pour?"
no subject
He looked at the blankets, kicking at one to move it over. "Um, yeah. I was out for a while and I just... yeah." He reached out for the thermos, looking at Lyndon like he'd been smacked upside the back of the head. Lyndon was having cocoa with him? Was he actually awake?
"Um, sure. Yeah. Uh, sit down?"
no subject
Setting the mugs on the table, he waited for Stiles to pour.
"So..." He wasn't sure where to go with this. Oh wait. "How long did you know without telling me?" Not the best opener but he was curious.
no subject
Moving over to sit on the couch, he unscrewed the thermos and poured out two mugs for them, still a little unsure what was going on. He almost spilled when Lyndon said that, but he caught himself at the last moment.
"Know what?" Yes, he was playing dumb. Shut up.

He could imagine what Stiles was thinking about the dog and Jackson. He can't say he hadn't thought it himself, but now with Jackson gone and so much in their lives changed, he wasn't going to let the rosey tint he'd given their romance wane.
He also wasn't going to accept that answer.
"You're really playing that card when the cat is out of the bag, and we've burned the bag so it can't go back in?"

Distractions. Distractions were good.

"It's very good. Yes I did. I'm talking about Derek, and Scott," he said flatly, giving Stiles his most deadpan look. "And that my boyfriend, ex boyfriend, was some kind of killer lizard and now he's a werewolf in London."

no subject
"Did you think I was the killer, too?"

"As someone that has been left out, this could get him killed anyway. Knowing could help. Of course, knowing hasn't helped people from being attacked," he pointed out, his hand going to his side.
no subject
He was still pissed at the ex-Alpha over that. Like, really pissed. Like, wanted to stab him in the eye pissed.
no subject
Not that he didn't think Stiles was capable of it. Far from it.

Now that was the million dollar question, and one that he didn't want to answer right out. "Someone got me thinking about the past few years, and the changes in my life right now and you came up in the course of the conversation. So today, with the snow and all, I thought I'd come over. I thought about calling but then realized that would ruin the surprise."

Scrawny people felt the cold more.

He nodded. "I wouldn't mind a blanket, though I'm curious about something." He took a breath. "What would you say looks best on me?" He couldn't take Stiles with me if he didn't have taste enough for it.
