The Stranded On An Island Meme


If it's too seasonally inappropriate for your tastes imagine this is a winter island.

Somehow you ended up stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere. Oh no! The only things around you are sand, palm trees (or ice burgs if you go with winter, leaves with fall...but you get the idea), and hopefully someone else. Possibly the wreckage of whatever you were riding in when you, ah, detoured and arrived. Or maybe you're alone with a pistol, one bullet, and a deep sense of resentment because you were marooned by a bunch of-...

Focus on the positives, not the negatives. You're on an island. You've got a lot of time to focus on doing cool things, like, uh.

1. Building a signal fire or otherwise figuring out a way to signal for help?
2. Oh hey! Maybe you could be building some sort of isolated island shelter!
3. Or maybe you're exploring and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature.
4. Oh wait! Dude! What if you're not merely on an island, but you're on Murderdeath Island and there's all sorts of things trying to kill you! Like Jurassic Park, or maybe this was an island filled with some other types of experiments, or maybe a DW RP game used to be here, or maybe there's zombies....
5. Maybe you're just going to roll into the fetal position and have a big bout of self pity, maybe crying in the corner of the rudimentary shelter you hopefully constructed.
6. You can't just...wallow in self pity! You gotta hunt down food and water and the like!
7. Have fun! Maybe just frolic on the hopefully tropical beach or play in the water. Build sandcastles and the like.
8. Be determined. You need no hero, you can build your own raft or disable whatever contrived force it is that's keeping you here and you can get out!
9. Maybe you just decided to accept your fate - maybe there's nothing waiting for you - and now you're a crazed island hermit and/or you're attempting to build civilization out in the middle of nowhere. Carpe diem.
