the ( one thing i like about you ) meme

You've known this person forever. Wait. Reverse that. Scratch it out. You've never met this man in your life. No matter what the case may be, you've still got one little niggle in that brainpan of yours while they're standing in front of you.

You have to say, out loud, the one thing you find intrinsically, insanely attractive about them. Physically. Mentally. Randomly. After being familiar with them your whole life. After meeting them two seconds ago. You have to bear this burden. What's better (or worse)? They have to do the same in return. The two of you, stuck in this tango, must continue until someone breaks the curse, all secrets are revealed, you go insane, or kiss.

All of those options all at once is also accepted.

Pookie. Honey bear. That Bastard. Sun and stars, moon of my life. Prince of Darkness.

Pet names. Love 'em. Hate 'em. Whether they send you swooning or get your eyeballs rolling, they own at least a little charm. Sometimes, with the right combo of words, we just can’t get enough!

Does your character have an alias for that special someone in their life? Don’t worry, you can tell us. And the character that affectionate nickname belongs to.

For the top-level folks: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR COMMENT BLANK. After you set up your name/canon/preference header, go into the comment and fill us in on what pet name would be your character's go-to. Gun to their head, if that's the necessary provision.

For the reply folks: their character just called your character...that. You read it. That. Go nuts.

The Changed by Love You Meme

"Finding someone without life's scars is a luxury that shouldn't be granted to anyone, love the scars and do everything possible to not create new ones, but if you do...that’s okay, broken paintings are also bought in galleries."

We want to believe that we're more than just specks of insignificant dust in this universe, and it's a hope we nurture from our beginnings of consciousness. However, sometimes it doesn't seem that way - everything we try can fall flat. But two heads are better than one, they say, and the bonds between people are what can make us more than we are. The right relationship - the right emotions, feelings, love - can bring you up from the darkness.

"Evil" characters being healed by those who are "good" are "pure" has always been a literary guilty pleasure, much to the chagrin of many. Still, that has its appeal, and you can explore that in this meme. There are other ways a relationship can change someone, though. Someone uninterested in love can blossom for the right person, an introvert become more outgoing, an impulsive person learning to become patient. Yet caring for someone or being attracted to them won't always change you for the better. You could be corrupted or worsened by a force that should be edifying you. Your feelings don't have to be returned, either, so one party may come out worse for the wear. Whatever the case may be, characters here are about to see their worlds changed by another.

How to Play:
( reply with your characters and preferences. if you'd like, you can include a sentence or even a few words about your character. you can also indicate if you'd like your character to be the one changed or the one doing the changing. )
( comment to others. )

Changed:
1. For the Better. ( evil being purified by good, to whatever degree possible. )
1. For the Worse. ( good corrupted by evil. )
3. More Kind. ( warmth. )
4. More Open. ( whether that means more willing to share or more open-minded. )
5. More Outgoing.
6. More Confident.
7. More Patient.
8. More Grateful.
9. More Angry.
10. More Sexual. ( more sexually active, experienced, or interested in sex. )
11. More Respectful.
12. Settling Down. ( taming the playboy. )

courtly.
Courtly love or domnei was a medieval European conception of nobly and chivalrously expressing love and admiration. Generally, courtly love was secret and between members of the nobility. It was also generally not practiced between husband and wife.

The "courtly love" relationship is modeled on the feudal relationship between a knight and his liege lord. The knight serves his courtly lady (love service) with the same obedience and loyalty which he owes to his liege lord. She is in complete control of the love relationship, while he owes her obedience and submission. The knight's love for the lady inspires him to do great deeds, in order to be worthy of her love or to win her favor. Thus "courtly love" was originally construed as an ennobling force whether or not it was consummated, and even whether or not the lady knew about the knight's love or loved him in return.

The "courtly love" relationship typically was not between husband and wife, not because the poets and the audience were inherently immoral, but because it was an idealized sort of relationship that could not exist within the context of "real life" medieval marriages. In the middle ages, marriages amongst the nobility were typically based on practical and dynastic concerns rather than on love. The idea that a marriage could be based on love was a radical notion. But the audience for romance was perfectly aware that these romances were fictions, not models for actual behavior. The adulterous aspect that bothers many 20th-century readers was somewhat beside the point, which was to explore the potential influence of love on human behavior. The behavior of the knight and lady in love was drawn partly from troubadour poetry and partly from a set of literary conventions derived from the Latin poet Ovid, who described the "symptoms" of love as if it were a sickness. The "lovesick" knight became a conventional figure in medieval romance. Typical symptoms: sighing, turning pale, turning red, fever, inability to sleep, eat or drink. Romances often contained long interior monologues in which the lovers describe their feelings.

tl;dr characters are in a fantasy/medieval setting and having a courtly romance.

+1 hardcore, x100 guilt
Part of the appeal of the (under)age difference kink, as in legal-aged characters being involved with those that are underage, is how absolutely taboo and fucked up it is in most cultures. Romance is nice, but let's be honest; it's messed up, even if there is a romantic element. And that's what makes it fun. This meme is for nitty, gritty, not always pretty side of underage. You can play the psychological angles of both sides, whether their actions makes the older party tormented for their decision, and all the filthy, dirty, guilty, and sexy facets this kink can offer.

But my character is a good dude and would never _____! Well, you can always say it's a moment of weakness, they didn't think, aliens made them do it, emotions made them do it - or say fuck it, it's a meme. Make them feel guilty about it later.

But my character is underage and I want them to be the older party. Age them up or play against someone younger.
