![]() The Dragon's Bride |
Flames, then ash. Your village will be left with little else should the dragon that plagues the countryside not get his demanded sacrifice...if you're lucky. Your good fortune turns south, the bones of your neighbors (or whatever else remains of them) litter a new charred graveyard that was once a town. So, the necessary offers must be made. At least that's the hope. The alternative would be too awful to contemplate. In a last-ditch effort to save those you love — or against your will, as these things tend to go with forcibly created martyrs — you have been hoisted onto the pyre, waiting for the dragon to fly off with you. What terrors race through your mind as your doom impends? How you'll end up in a beast's belly, no doubt. Except, you must consider this: there are worst fates than being a dragon's next meal. A monster that covets you as its treasure...a new type of danger unfurls its wings. You've become a dragon's bride. But could such an infernal creature ever learn to know honest, unselfish affection? Is it possible to be more than a "spouse?" A mere treasure? Perhaps, you could learn to be a dragon's love. HOW TO PLAY ✗ Comment with your character, roles ("dragon" or "bride") prefs, etc. ✗ Y'all know how this goes. Approach "dragon" as a stand-in. The monster mash could be elves, orcs, goblins, werewolves, demons, dwarves, fey, purple people eaters, what have you. Of course, actual dragon and shifters folks are welcome, too! And don't think that you have to make your boring human a boring ol' human. Consider this the monster/supernatural being/cryptid/creature AU of your dreams! ✗ Second verse, same as the first, "bride" registers as gender-neutral 'round these parts. That word choice just sounds a touch more poetic. ✗ Reply to others. |

| Down Below the orpheus & eurydice meme You've lost someone dear. An important piece. By surprise or not, the loss rips you to your core. You'd do anything to get them back, buy a one way ticket to drag them from the pits. So here comes the devil with an offer you can't refuse. Are you willing to pay the price? Can you keep your word on the conditions? Down below Six-feet-under-the-ground below Course there is another way But nah, I ain't supposed to say Join us on a journey to the river Styx. Look for your heart and bring them back. It seems like a simple set-up- But there's a catch (there always is). A trial to face, an impossible caveat. You're willing to risk it all for them. Will you succeed or does your shot slip through your fingers right at the last moment. And will that weight crush you? With all your heart? Well, that's a start This is a meme based on the Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, a tale from Greek mythology about a musician who lost his wife. All he had to do to bring her back from the after life was lead her out with out turning back to look at her. Unfortunately her silence unnerved him. Right as they were at freedom, he looked back and saw her as she faded back to nothing. There's the basic prompt, feel free to play from there. Whether your character succeeds or not, what their trial is, and who they bring back is up to you. _ POST with your character _ LIST your preferred role if you want _ PAY the toll _ GO down below ![]() |

| It's a bit of Japanese folklore that true lovers are connected to each other via a red string that represents destiny. But what comes first, the love or the string? What if they came at the same time? This meme is one part love at first sight and one part soulmate meme. You'll find yourself connected to something by a red string tied around your pinkie that you just can't get off. Well, may as well see what- or who- is on the other end! When you do see who it is, no matter who it may be, you'll fill a sudden and intense rush of love for them - whatever love means to you. You'll want to kiss them, hold them, protect them, and be with them forever. Who cares if you've never met before or aren't even from the same world? But every rose has its thorns. Instead of a red string, you may have a blue string. Oh, you'll still adore whoever it is that you're connected to, but it will be all the bad things about love: obsession, codependence, jealousy. You'll never let this person out of your sight, and they'll love you back. No matter what. HOW TO PLAY

| For centuries, cultures all over the world have anthropomorphized the concept of Death. It's easier to comprehend something so infinite, so complex as actually being like us. That's how we can wrap out minds around what is inevitable. Characters in many canons have come close to dying, have been in danger of dying, or have actually died at some point. The more that's at stake, the more interesting the narrative. So, naturally, let's take those two commonalities and blend them up into one simple meme: shipping with Death. And why not? Plenty of terms describing death-related scenarios are framed in words that are romantic or intimate. Kiss of death. A brush with death. What if those things were literal? In short, your character has attracted the attention of Death/a grim reaper/a shinigami/any other litany of macabre spirits...or your character is the shadow of death. Is your character not Death in vaguely human shape in canon but you want to play them as such? AU them! Everything else here is played a little fast and loose, after all. Of course, all of this will leave you with more questions than answers: how did this love blossom? Is it unrequited or returned? How can the two characters be together if one is alive and the other is more than just dead? Isn't it against the rules for Death to love a mortal? What kind of shenanigans could this cause, from affecting mundanity to intimacy?
