  Once you get down to it, fighting is pretty intimate. For a split second, guards let down so you can push yourself to your limit. Energy expended to gain that win. Bodies on bodies, pinning, grappling, pressing against someone. Panting. Sweating. If some UST is already there, if you two are already frayed due to a lingering attraction, a little physicality may be the breaking point. So whether you're really fighting, both of you are training, or one of you is teaching the other some moves to defend themselves (even if somebody's holding back and handling the situation with kid gloves), holds may go on a little longer than they should, words may come out in the heat of the moment - And, of course, you may find that a kiss is the perfect way to knock an opponent off their feet....or that you want to lay a smooch on them, anyway, when they topple over onto you. You may not win, but really, you do!

| Courtly love or domnei was a medieval European conception of nobly and chivalrously expressing love and admiration. Generally, courtly love was secret and between members of the nobility. It was also generally not practiced between husband and wife. The "courtly love" relationship is modeled on the feudal relationship between a knight and his liege lord. The knight serves his courtly lady (love service) with the same obedience and loyalty which he owes to his liege lord. She is in complete control of the love relationship, while he owes her obedience and submission.The knight's love for the lady inspires him to do great deeds, in order to be worthy of her love or to win her favor. Thus "courtly love" was originally construed as an ennobling force whether or not it was consummated, and even whether or not the lady knew about the knight's love or loved him in return. The "courtly love" relationship typically was not between husband and wife, not because the poets and the audience were inherently immoral, but because it was an idealized sort of relationship that could not exist within the context of "real life" medieval marriages. In the middle ages, marriages amongst the nobility were typically based on practical and dynastic concerns rather than on love. The idea that a marriage could be based on love was a radical notion. But the audience for romance was perfectly aware that these romances were fictions, not models for actual behavior. The adulterous aspect that bothers many 20th-century readers was somewhat beside the point, which was to explore the potential influence of love on human behavior. The behavior of the knight and lady in love was drawn partly from troubadour poetry and partly from a set of literary conventions derived from the Latin poet Ovid, who described the "symptoms" of love as if it were a sickness. The "lovesick" knight became a conventional figure in medieval romance. Typical symptoms: sighing, turning pale, turning red, fever, inability to sleep, eat or drink. Whatever the case may be, the reanimated dead are now a grisly but unavoidable fact of life. Thankfully for you, they tend not to move very fast. If you're lucky. 2. Do Not Run, We Are Your Friends → Aliens landed. They came, they saw, they conquered. They did not come in peace. Maybe you're a member of a secret rebel cell seeking to overthrow your alien oppressors. Perhaps you're from another planet, seeking to liberate the planet from those that think big lasers mean they can walk all over the pesky humans.

Six-Demon Bag → There was the world you knew, and then one day there were monster, non-euclidean (or optionally less eldritch but still awful) horrors that now walk the world, leaving death, injury, and possibly madness in their wake. Maybe it was volcano, a flood, earthquakes, an asteroid, maybe every animal and plant with teeth, claws, or poison suddenly turned against humanity. Maybe it was all of the above. Whatever the case, one thing is very clear: you're only ever hours from the next world-shattering Cataclysm.
6. Please Remain Calm And Proceed to the Nearest Exit → There was a new disease. Highly infectious, very deadly, and it wiped out most of the world's population. Maybe you're holed up in a bunker somewhere waiting for your supplies to run out. Maybe you have hazmat suits you have to wear topside when you go to hunt for new supplies amidst the dead and decaying as those supposed to be tending to the infected themselves fell sick.
