But you've been rather elusive, so even the kindest sometimes need to use... tricks, illusions, to get you to let go, to realize it's time to leave. So Death can take many forms, from the handsome and lovely to the monstrous, from animal to mythical. Whatever you need that would most convince you that it's time to take Death's hand.

[ Is it really any surprise that it's Tadashi? That this is the face the Reaper has chosen to collect Hiro at the end of his short life? Hiro doesn't really have much of a connection to his parents but his brother, Tadashi, that's different. Even if said brother is already dead.

So it's the older Hamada brother who seeks out the little tech genuis, bringing gummi bears and that fond but exhasperated expression Tadashi usually wears whenever Hiro is getting into trouble. He doesn't hesitate to sit next to Hiro and holds out the sweet treat. ]

[It wasn't terribly hard to find the Pirate King, after all, she need only find a body of water and the king would be near it soon enough. But this was not a death at sea, so Elizabeth would not get to be taken by Will.

But Elizabeth had dealt with so much magic in her life. She wasn't surprised the Pirate King didn't know she had passed away. How could you possibly think anything was wrong with you when you had dealt with cursed skeletons, goddesses, your husband was the captain of the Flying Dutchman, and everything else in between? Elizabeth had been to the land of the dead but didn't know it was her time to remain there.

If there's one skill people learn as they time travel, more than any other, it's people watching. You learn to take in the crowd, watch they way they act, watch how they dress. You learn how to fit in, and you also learn to spot others as they stand out.

Of course, some stand out more than others, like a Roman soldier standing in the middle of a busy sidewalk in London. Perhaps he's going to a party, the passersby certainly seem to think so, but the make of it all certainly does look authentic. And yet through the crush of the crowd, the soldier manages to make eye contact with Jack before stepping forward to call out to him.

"Um, excuse me. Have you seen a woman in a police uniform? Red hair? She might have been with a man with a bowtie and a fez."
