Most societies have certain mores that are unspoken rules; humanity itself even has such conventions, grilled subconsciously into our minds for our own safety. Don't go out alone at night. Avoid getting wet when it's cold. Don't pick fights with those stronger than you...okay, some of us missed the boat on the last one, but the point still stands. Society's rules tend to be more variable, though they apply to most aspects of life - including sex. In fact, bending the rules on what's considered acceptable in romance and sexual encounters can lead to anything from being ostracized to death, depending on the time and culture.

So, play it close to the chest if you're going to do a big, big, big t a b o o. Is it worth the risk?

Whether it be a war-torn world, a time of political discord, or merely (merely?) the situation you find yourself in by being you, there's one thing not on your mind: love.

That all changes once you see them, and your life is changed. As you get to know this person, survival or success seems to no longer be your only concern. Your world is molding, shifting, integrating them into your priorities. What will you do when you realize this? Accept it with gusto and hope to be with them forever? Distance yourself because you cannot be distracted?

Smut is great. And, to go hand in hand, kink is good. Angst is good, romance is good, sexy sexy sexy is grand, the whole nine yards. Some days, though, you just want to play adorable smut - where "cute" wins out over smoldering sexiness - and nothing else will scratch the itch. Whether it be a first time, canoodling between lovers, an awkward rendezvous, friends to more, someone learning the ropes, an attempt at showing true feelings, amusing "messing around," or anything your mind can come up with, the only rule is that things must be absolutely cute...at face value or in a twisted way.

tl;dr sparknotes this because we want to get to the meme: Sentinels and guides had a baby with YA dystopian lit. After a near extinction level cataclysm, people began to develop abilities that fall into two categories: Powered (sentinel/warrior) and Source (guide/healer). Their true powers are only revealed when they find their one genetically compatible match. A shadow government kidnaps these individuals, puts them into lifebonds, trains them for combat, then sends them out in teams to do all the dirty work. Codependency, mind-bonding, unhealthy love, and bloody murder probably ensue.

In the subject line, place your character name, canon, preferences, and whether your character will be a Powered, Source, or either. Reply to others! What will your character be doing? Being a late bloomer and only now meeting their partner? Training? On a mission? Enjoying some rare down time? Comforting their partner? Aftercare after the battle? Getting blackmailed? Run Away Together Shipping Meme

The two of you have decided to run away together. Bottom line, you've come up with that plan and you've worked up the guts and the means to do it. The most obvious source of a desire to leave together is a romance you can't have until you're gone from this place. It's like all the eloping that happened in those epics of old. How charmingly beautiful! How romantic! Who says the old ways have gone out of style?

But other reasoning behind the decision could be from the serious - you both want to escape imprisonment, an oppressive atmosphere, or a miserable destiny - to the more lighthearted. Maybe an adventure is just what you need, where you'll finally get to see the world...and, slowly, fall in love. Because that's what the crux of all this is: even if the escape started out as mere convenience, you both want to stay close and work together. In the end, when you've finally run where you want to be and the danger, if any, has passed, you may find you don't want to go your separate ways.
