 There's nothing wrong with wanting to play out some cute, fluffy interaction. So break out the butterflies in the stomach, the hand holding, the love confessions, the NOTICE ME SENPAIS, and all the adorableness you can stomach - no matter if if fits your character perfectly or not. It's all about characters getting comfortable with each other while being total goobers and showing love. It's shameless, sure, but it's fun!

 How to Love No matter how straightforward it may seem, the human emotion of "love," especially true, unconditional love, is complex and often hard to understand. All that forgiveness, all that dedication, all that light in the dark - how can one person have all that inside of them? You don't understand that, possibly because you're not a human. You're a calculating robot, an alien with a completely different frame of reference, or an artificially created being told only to feel certain ways. If you are a human, however, that doesn't necessarily clue you in to all the secrets of affection. Cold, uncaring assassins, brutal warriors, ruthless womanizers and maneaters, or the just plain broken can often feel like robots among their own kind. But you want that to change. You have a stirring in your chest for someone and you want to know what love is so you can make them happy. This is the first time you've ever wanted to do so and be so unselfish. Hopefully, they can be a good teacher and help you open up, getting you both closer... ...or you could end up with someone as inexperienced as you. Well, there is something to be said about learning together.

 a sci-fi au shipping meme ( The Setting ) ( The Premise ) ( The Problem ) tl;dr sparknotes this because we want to get to the meme: Sentinels and guides had a baby with YA dystopian lit. After a near extinction level cataclysm, people began to develop abilities that fall into two categories: Powered (sentinel/warrior) and Source (guide/healer). Their true powers are only revealed when they find their one genetically compatible match. A shadow government kidnaps these individuals, puts them into lifebonds, trains them for combat, then sends them out in teams to do all the dirty work. Codependency, mind-bonding, unhealthy love, and bloody murder probably ensue.

 Your Calm You're dangerous. In the end, it doesn't matter whether you're a constant flight risk ticking time bomb or someone who's a threat to society when the moon is full or the right magic spells or demon blood enchantment is given; anyone could unluckily wind up on your business end on one bad day. Isn't it better, then, for you to just stay away and build up walls so you never hurt someone else? There is a someone else that can make all the difference, however. Somehow, they're the only person who can diffuse the bomb that is you. Maybe it's because of your shared history. Maybe they're just the only person you truly like. Whatever the case may be, there's no surprise that you've grown close to them...perhaps too close, though you may not realize depending on how aware of surroundings you are. Now, your emotions are all mixed up, and there could even be lo- No. Don't focus on that. Instead, just don't question it and only rely on them to get you through spells that make you a danger to yourself and others. Whether they're keeping you at bay, you're having a calm moment with them or battling with the idea of your feelings be known, or otherwise, you should appreciate them, your emotional walls or instability notwithstanding.

They showed you kindness, perhaps in a way you'd never seen before, perhaps in a way you can never repay. But you're trying; in exchange, you're offering your loyalty, for how much or how little that's worth. For them, you'd do anything: you'd fight, you'd protect, you'd be their right hand or their biggest advocate, if they needed it and you can offer it. As long as you get to stay by their side, it doesn't matter. So, you certainly don't have to worry about your bond surpassing what you have now or becoming romantic, do you? That will just get in your way of being there for them. Since you've only got their best interest at heart, it won't bother you if someone else were to pursue them... ...right? As long as you get to stay by their side. As long as you get to fight for them. As long as they need you.

 Sometimes, there aren't words to describe the relationship between two people. Other times, there are words, but they fall pathetically short. As trite as the phrase sounds - and as maligned as it has been by not so subtle innuendo and lurid gossip - "special friends" best describes you and your most favored companion. The friendship is deep, no one can deny that, but its also more than that. Much More. What you share is romantic, too, though perhaps not on the same terms other people think in. Really, nothing about you two can be defined...and you don't want that to change. You've found the one person you enjoy spending time with and can be comfortable around. Both of you are just enjoying being here together. It's that easy. It's that comfortable. They're one steady point in this crazy world, and you never have to put on airs around them. Whether you need someone to comfort you, decompress or share hobbies with or simply offer a shoulder to lean on in silence, relax. They've got you covered, and, for once, you don't have to keep your walls up. Take the edge off. + Comment with your character info, prefs, etc. |
