wormed their way into your heart meme
a protecting meme with both gen and shipping options

You have to look out for them. There's no other option, really.

No matter whether you're gruff, as sweet as can be, an asshole, morally bankrupt, the straightest arrow, kind, socially awkward, or just a normal person, you never expected for someone to come into your life and take up residence in your heart so quickly and so completely. You could be denying their impact, even still, but you can't explain away your desire to protect them. See, they may not be smaller than you - though they could possibly be - and they may not be younger, yet you have to look out for them. They just need it, their own strength or weakness be damned.

And, on some level, you need to do it, because it seems like each other are the only ones you've got.

Life-or-death post-apocalyptic world, dangerous adventure, or even something like making sure they know how to navigate everyday life, you just don't want them hurt. They could be a pain in the ass, but they're your pain in the ass and you'll

...they're looking out for you, too? Now, don't get too crazy...

♡ This meme is for people who have someone important in their lives, whether it be a peer, someone younger, or even someone younger, that they feel responsible for. The inspiration for it is all those badass action dudes who get a child companion who tears down their walls, but there are so many options and different ways to take it!
♡ There's also a romantic option because why not?
♡ Reply with your character, canon, their information and where they'd fit in the meme. You may also want to pick which angle, romantic or platonic, you'd prefer if you have a strong preference, as well as any age restrictions for certain options and scenes.
♡ Reply to others. Have fun, be creative, make up AUs, what have you.

PROMPTS
PLATONIC: Family is who you choose, and that's what you view them as...begrudgingly or not.
ROMANTIC: It began as protection, but feelings caused it to be something more.

Most societies have certain mores that are unspoken rules; humanity itself even has such conventions, grilled subconsciously into our minds for our own safety. Don't go out alone at night. Avoid getting wet when it's cold. Don't pick fights with those stronger than you...okay, some of us missed the boat on the last one, but the point still stands. Society's rules tend to be more variable, though they apply to most aspects of life - including sex. In fact, bending the rules on what's considered acceptable in romance and sexual encounters can lead to anything from ostracization to death, depending on the time and culture.

So, play it close to the chest if you're going to do a big, big, big t a b o o. Is it worth the risk?

- Comment with your character and preferences. Be sure to include what you want and what you DON'T WANT. Blank comments are fine; info is even better!

HELP ME PLEASE! the meme

We all have something we either can't do, or can't do alone. Luckily there's a meme for that.

HOW TO PLAY

○Post with your character.  Don't put their name and canon in the header.  Instead put something that they don't know how to do and would like to learn, or something they might want help or practice with.

examples: I can't swim • I need to clean this whole house so I can go to a ball and seduce a prince • I'd like to practice throwing pitches with someone

○Look around the meme! If you see someone that you think your character can be of some help to... tag them!

The Wrong Recipient Meme

Oops. It happens to all of us. In a hurry, kind of drunk, too tired – for whatever reason, you've sent a text to the wrong recipient and it's up to you to do damage control.

¤ Post with your character. Name, canon and any preferences in the subject line.
¤ Others choose one of the options below and reply to your character with a text message that wasn't intended for them.
¤ Communication or miscommunication ensues?
¤ Profit!

1. talk dirty | "baby, you were such a stud yesterday"
Texting is a great way to make your partner spend the rest of their meeting thinking about exactly how steamy action was last night... Unless you sent it to the wrong number, of course. How to explain that one?

2. those dates | "Don't forget lunch at 2! :-)"
Easiest way to arrange meetings, confirming them or just saying thanks for a good time is by cell. Even easier? To screw it up when the invitation reaches the wrong person... Or perhaps your mishap lands you an entirely new date!

3. anger management | "OMFG, you really are an asshole!"
They’ve pissed you off royally, so someone deserves a piece of your mind. Poor recipient, having to put up with a dressing-down of that magnitude. Especially if it wasn't actually intended for them.

4. my condolences | "Jane, I'm so sorry about your aunt."
Someone lost a relative, got broken up with or didn't get the grades they'd hoped for, so you quickly text them your heartfelt sympathy. Let's just hope that the recipient actually has lost their aunt...

5. well done | "I heard about it from my mom. You go, girl!"
They aced their exams, just got published or they had a baby. Something definitely deserving of your congratulations. Hopefully the one receiving it will appreciate the recognition of something they probably didn't do.

6. auto correct | "Dad says we're having pussy tonight."
A completely ordinary message. The concert was amazing, you're running late... Autocorrect just happened to change one little word into something completely different. Something that’s even more difficult to decipher for the wrong recipient.

7. wildcard | "ok"
Want another scenario, something combined or something completely different? Knock yourself out!

UNUSUAL SHOW OF AFFECTION
shipping meme

You don't have to give this person anything to prove you care. But maybe you want to; it's an easy way of letting them know your affection and telling them you're open to a relationship. If you're already with your love interest, a gift might just remind them of your feelings. Most would give flowers or chocolate or offer up a night of quality time or chores done. Those are the usual.

You're not usual yourself. Neither is the person you're with...or want to be with. You'll have to go for the unusual.

So whether it's building your crush a robot to ask them out, making your friend-or-possibly-more the best fifteen course meal they've ever had, or teaching your significant other to be the strongest ninja warrior, go big or go home. Or go where it's natural, given how unconventional you can be.

  • Comment with your character, canon, and any info. Be sure to include whether you want to play out an unestablished or established relationship, and what your character would give to another- ie, their gift, their gesture, service, skill, etc.
