a [crossover pairing encouraged] shipping meme

Crossover pairings are fun. Arguably, they can be one of the best parts of panfandom RP. After all, there's nothing quite like that spark when two characters just "click," especially when it was completely unplanned. AWESOME.

Unfortunately, in a lot of shipping memes here and elsewhere, the environment isn't really conducive to spontaneity. People usually just stick to castmates or close friends, and don't tag out due to lack of knowledge of canons or just plain intimidation. That's not fun for those of us who want to throw caution out the windows and just try crazy things, like throwing a Thor at a Sailor Moon (which, really, isn't that crazy of an idea if you look at the mythos for both series...).

This meme's for you, risk takers, crack shippers, or people who just want something new. All there is to do is fill out a tiny blurb so that people who don't know your canon will have some idea about your character. Then, go. Play. Don't let anything stop you. Don't know where to go with an idea? Wing it! The prompts here are not the super specific variety that most ship memes have, where you almost have to have canon knowledge. Want to reply to a character but have no idea where to begin? Make things up! The more creative, the better.

The Steps
- Make a comment with your character, canon, preferences, etc in the subject. In the body of the comment, fill out this super easy form. Just the basics.

Name: Jane Doe
Canon: The Best Canon Ever
About: Jane is a shy girl with magic powers.
[OPTIONAL]
What kind of character they'd be attracted to: Strong, outgoing types.

- Comment to other characters! Use the RNG, first rolling for category (1-3) and then for prompt.
- This meme was created for crossovers, and that's heavily encouraged, but no one is going to hunt you down if you play with a castmate. Just try to remember the purpose of the meme, okay?
- HAVE FUN

Two Ways to Play
#1 (the buildup)
- Start with the first category, which is how the characters meet. Play that as you see fit. THEN, do a timeskip! If you don't know what that means, it's when you handwave that time has past. Assume the characters have known each other for a while. Move on to a prompt in the next category. Rinse, repeat. You can build a relationship!

#2 (the regular)
- Just play it as usual. Roll for category, then for prompt.

The Categories
1. The beginning
2. The relationship
3. Years later

The Support Group Meme

OVERFLOW POST. Because...dude. I'll make it look prettier tonight.

Per Wikipedia:

In a support group, members provide each other with various types of help, usually nonprofessional and nonmaterial, for a particular shared, usually burdensome, characteristic. The help may take the form of providing and evaluating relevant information, relating personal experiences, listening to and accepting others' experiences, providing sympathetic understanding and establishing social networks. A support group may also work to inform the public or engage in advocacy.

And now you know. And knowing's half the battle.

  • Post with a character.

  • Unlike most memes, you'd probably be better off by providing a general theme for people to respond to. You know, have your subject or post read "People who got turned into animals in their respective games" or "Time travelers and keeping the space/time continuum intact."

  • Respond to other people and support them through their trials and tribulations.

  • NOTE: While you're welcome to post whatever the hell you want, if you delve into triggery whatnot (i.e. abuse, suicide, things which tend to actually evoke real life support groups and therapy) please label your posts with a nice and blatant warning so someone who was looking for Time Travelers Anonymous doesn't accidentally stumble into your suicide thread instead.

The SCP Meme

SCP artifacts pose a significant threat to global security. Various agencies from around the world operate to maintain human independence from extra-terrestrial, extra-dimensional, and extra-universal threat. In the past humankind has been at the whim of these bizarre artifacts and similar phenomena, but we have now reached a point in history where we can begin to control and contain these defiances of natural law.

You are now working for the SCP Foundation. You have no need to understand how or why we operate. What you do need to understand is how vital your mission is.

→ Post with your character’s name, canon, and any preferences in the subject line
→ Open up the SCP's experiment pages.
→ Go to the good old RNG and roll a number 1 through 1999, and roll, and roll, and reroll until you find an experiment that tickles your fancy. Or pick your favorite.
→ Roll for a prompt as well if you need a starting point, or go your own way.

The Midsummer's Night Dream Meme

You find yourself in a forest. It's a beautiful, magical forest where flowers grow on trees and even the spring water tastes sweet. According to the fairies wandering among the trees, a big feast in honor of their queen is going to begin soon... and with it, an exciting game is going to start! What, you say you don't want to play? Don't worry, the fragrant flowers are going to get you in the mood right away!

THE RULES:
  1. Post with your character! They're now at a party hosted by fairies in the middle of a magical forest.

  2. In addition to the fanciful clothes, every character is given a fancy hairpin with a flower. The flower's fragrance is a potent drug that makes them want to do a specific act linked to the flower in question. There are a lot of options, so either load up Random.org and roll your dice, or choose among the following:

    1. Balm carries the air of sympathy and pity. You would never sleep with this person normally, but something today makes you want to take pity on them and drag them into the nearby private spot.
    2. Bittersweet makes your tongue itch until everything you say is truth, no matter how embarrassing and lewd.
    3. The bell flower means gratitude. This person has done something nice for you in the past, and you won't leave them alone until you pay them back in every way you can.
    4. The Rose urges you to seek out that person you always wanted, but could never have. It also grants you just enough courage to not only make your feelings known, but to show them in their entirety.
    5. Clover drives you to blind obsession. For some reason beyond your understanding, you want that person and you'll do anything to have them.
    6. The Starwort makes you feel adventurous! That complete stranger whose name you don't even know? Throw all your caution to the wind and approach them.
    7. Yellow Carnation reminds you just how much you hate that person. In fact, you're going to pin them down and have your way with them just to show how much you hate them.
    8. Nasturtium is a sign of conflict. Challenge your partner to a competition and let the victor take the loser as the spoils of victory!
    9. Camellia makes your hands wander. Can you please your partner using them and little else?
    10. A Lily is a sign of purity and simplicity. Just lower yourself on the forest floor and make love until neither of you can move.
    11. The Snapdragon always stands tall. Imitate it as you pin your partner to the nearest wall and take them standing.
    12. Mistletoe always reminds one of kisses, so let your mouth explore and wander.
    13. Something about the Iris makes you go completely wild. Pin your partner down and ride them, either from top or from behind.
    14. Hyacinth reminds you of all those toys the fairies left nearby. Maybe you can use them in an interesting way?
    15. Myrtle makes you feel dominant or submissive. Maybe a leash and a collar would be a nice addition to your ensemble?
    16. Dog Rose takes restraint a few steps too far: now rope, chains and leather come into play!
    17. Monkshood pushes your boundaries further. Toys and positions are nice and all, but maybe you could do something risky and try the back door?
    18. Finally, the Honeysuckle makes you feel thoroughly clingy. Either your own powers are going haywire or the forest is helping, but you can go much further with the help of tentacles.

  3. Play out the scene according to your fragrance! Remember that the fairies like adventurous folk. Good things come to those who experience the company of as many flowers as possible.

  4. Finally, have fun!
