scenarios;

① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.

② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?

③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.

④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!

⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.

⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.

Giles' business had brought him here, to Kirkwell. It wasn't that he'd actually intended to seek Marian out - she wasn't his business. But Bethany was, and he hadn't felt right not at least checking in.

One thing had led to another which had led to them walking together in the snow, on the way to meet with Giles' contact. It had only been sensible - he was new to Kirkwell, after all, having been a native of Redcliffe before joining the Wardens.

Of course, Kirkwell at night wasn't the safest place. Not for a Grey Warden, and certainly not for Hawke.]

So here he was, out in the middle of a soon to be blizzard by the rate the snow was falling at, grocery bags in hand. As he trudged back to his car in shoes that were not made for walking in snow, he noticed a shock of red hair attached to a young girl sitting at the bus stop across the street. The last time Derek had talked to Scott, he'd mentioned a new student with red hair. A werewolf. Maybe that was her. [truth be told, snow isn't too high on archie's list of favorite things. it's pretty, yes - but especially so when he's curled up in a chair in a warm house (or office). with a blanket. for extra warmth. then, it can snow and be pretty and halfway magical all it wants.

now, seeing as he's standing in front of his office, shoulders drooping and decidedly without a key, it's really not a good time. he gives a frustrated look to the sky - just so it knows he doesn't appreciate that, and feels around in his pockets one last time for that lost key, and - nope. and then, maybe because of some kind of miracle, he sees her out of the corner of his eye.]
