( let it snow )

❄ it's quiet
and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme
‧ post with whatever character you want
‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading
‧ ???
‧ profit
snowfall;
stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white.
stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.
scenarios;
① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.
② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?
③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.
④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!
⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.
⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.
⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧

Brigid shivers and reaches for her bag.
The smell nudges her and she can just make out the sound of a heartbeat over the hissing blowing of the wind.
Brigid looks around and sees the shadow. Alpha. She can tell by the scent and just wants to run. If she runs, he'll catch her. She can't do that.
So, she bows her head and avoids eye contact as he gets closer.]
Alpha.
[Respect, almost submission and a touch of fear all in one. She's an Omega - not by choice - on another pack's territory. Better not to piss off the locals.]

It was freezing. He had abandoned his signature leather jacket in favor of a more practical, fluffy coat, which was not coping with the snow as well as he had hoped. In the coat's defense, he refused to put the hood up, which would have made it much more effective at keeping snow from melting and trickling down his back. He wasn't in the mood for proper introductions and was far too wet and cold to do much in the way of alpha posturing. At least, while out in the elements.]
Did you miss the bus?

The question surprises her for a moment. She watches him, wary. Most Alphas don't want anything to do with an Omega. Brigid has been trying to figure out a way to approach him.
Maybe this is the best way? She's never done this before.]
I think so?
[A cautious breath.]
Can I help you, Alpha?
no subject
Maybe, Omega.
[His use of "omega" was sarcastic, although his delivery was too dry to convey that.]
For now, one werewolf to another, do you need a ride home?
no subject
... Basically, she didn't know a lot and it chafed.
Her use of the title had been meant to convey her respect and submission to his superior status. Nothing more. Had she offended him, already? She was flailing around trying to not be Omega. And apparently, failing.
His question surprised her.]
I... if it wouldn't be too much trouble. I'm just past the high school.
no subject
No trouble. Come on.
[He nodded in the direction of the car and began trudging back through the snow.]
no subject
She caught up with him, scuffing through the snow.
When she was finally in the car out of the snow, she pulled down her scarf a little and rubbed her hands together.]
Thank you, Alpha. I appreciate it.
no subject
My name's Derek.
[The car rumbled to life. He pulled out of the parking lot and turned in the direction of Beacon Hills high school. His car didn't have chains so he focused on driving, watching for patches of black ice. Snow hadn't begun to stick to the road yet.]
Where are you from?
no subject
My name is Brigid Finn, from Boston.
[Her name was Bride. And her accent was a bit thick when she said it.]
I have been trying to find a way to approach you. I don't want to be Omega.
[She really hated being Omega.]

No one had told her about him. She'd known there was an Alpha around.
The tears gathered on her lashes and she forced them back.]
My father was killed, by the Alpha. Then, I was told to leave. The only family I have left is a maternal aunt who lives here.

Being Omega is dangerous, but danger gravitates towards this town. I can't ensure your safety if you join my pack.

I was born a werewolf. When my Da was on duty, Mom and I stayed with the pack. After she died, so Da could finish his fifteen years in the military, I lived with the Alpha and his wife for eighteen months.
He killed my Da and then told me to leave.
Mr. Hale, if I remain an Omega, I will die, after going insane. A group of human hunters who have appointed themselves judges, juries and executioners will track me down and kill me.
[It's a fact that every werewolf has to live with. It's something that had been driven home to her when she'd slipped in her training. If the Alpha hadn't gotten her, then the hunters would have.]
I would rather take my chances with a pack, and be hurt and die with them, than be hunted by humans and cut in half in a back alley somewhere, begging for my life.

Which house is your aunt's?
no subject
The one with snowmen in the yard, up there on the left.

A student named Isaac Lahey will approach you on Thursday after school. [Today was Tuesday.] If you still feel the same, Omega, follow him.
no subject
Thank you, for the ride, and for listening. I'll speak to Isaac later.
Cousins? Derek has such a shit screening process.
Sorry for your loss.
Living with Maternal Aunt who has kids. They know nothing about wolves. Mom was human.
[Brigid scribbled her number on a piece of paper.]
In case you need me?
[She climbed out of the car and trudged through the snow toward the house.]
[OOC: I would love to PSL/continue this/whatever. Thank you for letting me really explore her voice! :)]
