( let it snow )

❄ it's quiet
and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme
‧ post with whatever character you want
‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading
‧ ???
‧ profit
snowfall;
stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white.
stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.
scenarios;
① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.
② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?
③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.
④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!
⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.
⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.
⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧

A few questions do spring into his mind, and he does look at her quizzically for a bit. But, again - no bad intentions. It doesn't change much of anything, and besides: it's really cold, okay. Son of thieves: he gets it.]
Yeah?
Well, I don't suppose there's anything illegal about the sheriff going about it like that.
[and archie grins, no questions asked.]
Archie needs a little more support in canon than 'hey, you're alive.'
Because damn it is cold.]
No, it's not something I'd have to arrest myself for. Give me one second.
[Believe it or not, she has tools for this. She walks back over to the cruiser to get them out of the glove box, slips them in her pocket and walks back over to Archie to let him lead the way.]
Henry's been talking about you nonstop lately. I know your presumed death didn't last for long, but he was heartbroken.
definitely. like, i'm thankful for that, but hey let's get him involved again, thanks. :|
[there's a small chuckle from him as he looks back at her over his shoulder, heading across the street and back to his locked office, but it's there to mask the uncomfortableness. truthfully, it's not archie's favorite topic of discussion - but it's one that keeps coming up with the rest of the citizens. understandably, of course, and he'll indulge them and their good natures, but it does get tiring.
far be it from him to let anyone catch on, though. they're worried, and it'll blow over soon.]
Is he alright now?
Regina needs all the therapy she can get, let's keep going there.
[And no one has been reported missing, which makes it hard for her to determine whose body that was. She sighs, because she's not going to mention it to Archie when they're all just grateful that he survived it, but Cora did kill someone. She jiggles the knob first, just to see what she's working with before she takes her tools out. For Storybrooke having the most outdated security of any place she's ever lived, the door's not going to open without a little effort.]
The family thing seems to be working for him - you know, all of us together. It's a lot of people and not a lot of space, but I think it makes Henry feel safe.
exactly. someone's gotta take care of her, okay.
You know, I think that's a big part of what he needed. Close ties and somewhere where he could feel security like that. He's adapting quickly, I guess.
[he doesn't hesitate in cutting it off there. it'd be too easy to slip into angry tones about an evil queen, and despite what she's done, archie isn't going to do it. there's no question.]
Anything I can do to help? [he gestures toward the door.]
because momma's going to make her snap. again.
[It's comforting, to be honest. Emma isn't swinging around a sword or fighting for her life, she's just usually a skill she's had for years. It comes right back, a little jingling here, the right twist there. She's careful about it, but it only takes her a few seconds to hear the familiar click before she pushes the door open.]
See? We're good.
[She shouldn't be proud of herself for doing this, and yet...yeah, she definitely is. Just a few seconds longer than it used to take, too.]
It used to come in handy when I was chasing down criminals. Now it's...witches, and dragons, and giants. [Oh my.]
