Hall of Mirrors: You and your partner entered, thinking it would be easy to get out again, but dead ends abound in this wacky mirror-maze, and each mirror seems to show a more and more distorted image of each of you. 8. Fortune Teller: Whether one of the creepy machines or the even creepier women dressed up in a culturally insensitive costume, you cross someone's palms with silver and get your future told. "Bah, darn it," she batted at it with her hand, looking to Kitty.

"Did I get it all?"

She shook her head, somehow juggling her plate to free a spare napkin and hand it to Barbara. "You've still got a bit left."

She rolled her eyes and got to work. Then took another bite and had to start all over again.

"It's like Sisyphus," She said. "Delicious, delicious Sisyphus."

She giggles. "It's definitely more enjoyable, at least."

Taking another bite of her funnel cake, she then holds the plate up to Barbara. "You do have to try a piece of this, though."

"Don't mind if I do," she says, blowing on her fingers before taking off a small piece for herself, crunching it down happily. "Oh, ok, yeah, you made a solid choice there. Super solid choice.

And, democratically, she offers up some of her elephant ear.

"Right? I told you, funnel cakes are a must at carnivals."

Even so, she does tear off a piece of the elephant ear to try herself. "Yours is also really good, though."

"Fried dough," she responds, "the secret fifth food group."

She nibbles on hers a little more, taking a happy sip of her ginger ale.

"You know, this is the easiest fun I've had since I was, maybe, ten? Yeah. Off-hours are the best."

She giggles, taking another bite of her own treat. She normally doesn't eat much fried food, but it doesn't hurt to indulge now and again.

"Aren't they? Sorry to hear it's been so long since you've gotten to relax. We should really fix that."

"I will very much take you up on that. We should thus also work out a battle plan for what you want to do while you're here. I mean, shopping is a must - there are some dresses I am sure just scream Kitty - we've got some nice beaches. Oh, more museums than the day is long."

She'd made a list. She really wanted her friend to have the maximum fun.

"Wow, you guys just have everything here, don't you?" she asked, just as eager to have some fun with her friend. "We'll have to see if we can fit in time for all of those things, though I might have to pick just one museum."

She grins.

"It's honestly whatever you want to do. I made lists, to make it easier. I...may have had some spare time, the last few days before you arrived. I was eager and had the spare room made up in, like, an hour and a half."

She smiles brightly. "Aww, that's so sweet! It means a lot that you went through so much effort."

It really does make her feel special.

She shrugged, nipping at her food.

"Good friends are rare. And you absolutely deserve it. It was a pleasure, it really was."

She's genuinely touched, and for a moment she isn't sure what to say. Eventually, she manages to answer, "Thanks. You're a pretty awesome friend too, y'know."

She gently bumps Kitty with her shoulder, nibbling away.

"I do try. It's nice when it's easy, isn't it?"

Because lord knows that's not how it usually goes, for her.

She giggles softly. "Definitely."

Because she's definitely had her share of trouble in that department too.

Once she's finished with her funnel cake, she tosses the trash in a nearby bin. "So what's next? We should probably stay away from the faster rides for a while."

She giggled at that. "Oof, yes, learned that one the hard way. Let's just say that no matter how delicious the gyros were, they don't go well with sudden maneuvers in the Batmobile thereafter."

She looks around, eliminating anything like a roller coaster, and definitely not the tower drop rides.

"Hmm. Nearest are the bumper cars, or we could take the gentle risk on the teacup ride thingey over there."

"Hmm....maybe let's try the bumper cars first, and then try the teacups after that."

"Race ya!" she calls, after finishing off her ginger ale, making a gentle dash in the direction of the bumper cars pavilion.

And the best part? It doesn't even have much of a line. Their timing, accidental though it was, had been excellent.

"Hey!" she calls as she hurries after Barbara. "That's cheating!"

While there isn't much of a line for the bumper cars, there are still enough people to fill a good number of cars, so at least it wouldn't be too boring.

Once they are let in, Kitty finds a purple and pink one to hop into.

She's blocked from her first choice by some very happy little girls, but ultimately settles on a blue and gold one, folding herself into it with ease. One of the few upsides, really, of being 5'3''.

And naturally, the moment they power up, she makes a beeline straight for Kitty.

She's expecting that, which is why she heads straight for Barbara as well. She doesn't quite manage to avoid some of the other drivers, though, bumping hard into them on the way.

"Banzai!"

They manage to collide after some smaller bumps all along the way. Barbara whooped out loud as they did so, and just laughed gleefully.

Kitty is laughing as well, even as other cars bump into them and jostle her around. That's all part of the fun, though, and eventually she manages to make her way out of the crowd to drive around the ring before heading back towards Barbara for another collision.

Kitty catches her off-guard, coming in out of nowhere.

"Oh no! Perfidy!" she calls out, even though it really isn't. Sometimes you just want to say fun words.

She tries to wheel around, circling Kitty and trying to get behind her.
