Quick! Run! Hide! Scream! Flail uselessly! That's about all you'll be able to do against... whatever we're all afraid of. Um. What was that, again? Well, nevermind, it's scary anyway.

If you're a character in this meme, you have suddenly found yourself amidst a group of people, all of whom are panicking about... something. For the moment, it's not immediately obvious what that something is, but it seems like they all know something you don't. Maybe there's a tornado coming. Maybe there's a sudden flea infestation and you just haven't gotten swarmed yet. Maybe Cthulhu is just around the corner. Maybe everyone but you is mind controlled and trying to get away from crazy delusions of aliens landing and all singing Nyan cat in about fifteen different keys.

Or maybe it's all just a false alarm that's gotten out of control. But can you really afford to assume that?

Will you join in the flailing, try to snoop out the root cause, or be the one trying to get everyone else to just calm down already?

Rules
1. Your character will run into other characters in the midst of the panic.
2. Write the reason for panicking in the subject line, or label it as open for responders to make up. (Or leave everyone clueless, that works, too!)

[The ponies are all kind of warily eyeing Ralph because...hey, that is a Bad Guy. What is Fluttershy doing bringing a Bad Guy home?!]

Oh, hello, everypony, this is my new friend, Ralph...

[This is helping ever-so-slightly, but they still seem a bit weirded out by this.]

Hey! How's it going? Nice to meet you! [Ralph's chattering out niceties off the top of his head to everypony that looks at him. He's doing his very best to be pleasant and non-threatening.

But he may not be watching where he's going, and he is awful clumsy...]

[Ralph, watch out! Oh, that poor tree, losing its branch like that...and that poor pony that almost got hit by that poor tree's branch...and, oh...this is turning awkward fast.]

Oh, oh, don't worry, that was just an accident...

[Ralph was unhurt by the tree, but now he's accidentally started an awful chain reaction.]

Sorry! Look out! [He had tried to catch the branch before it fell, but he was too slow and ended up tripping over another pony in the process, landing with a very loud and solid thud.]

[At this point, Fluttershy's just hovering there trying to avoid getting hit by anything herself, because this has sent the other ponies bolting away.]

Oh, dear, oh, dear...are you okay?

[Ralph stands up with a sigh, brushing dirt off of him.] I'm fine, how's everybody else?...

[He hadn't even been in this game for 5 minutes and he was already wrecking everything. Was that a new wreckord?]

I...I think everypony's okay.

[Because everypony else has gotten out of the area so fast.]

Um, Sugarcube Corner is this way, I'm sure that's where Pinkie will be...

[Ralph nods in response, looking a little depressed.]

Okay, let's go then...

[At least Pinkie hadn't been one of the ones that had seen the mess he had just made. It would have been bad if he had accidentally nearly harmed the pony that was going to throw him a party.]

Oh, oh, don't worry! I'm sure things will get better once we get into town!

[Yes, the highly wreckable town. Nothing can go wrong, nope. At least Fluttershy knows exactly where she's going. Soon, they've made it into town.]

I sure do hope so...

[After that incident, he's all too aware that the town is in danger of him accidentally bringing the house down.

He follows along behind Fluttershy warily, attempting to be careful and watch his steps.]

[Most of the ponies in the town are giving Ralph a wide berth. It seems word has spread quickly. Fluttershy's just trying not to think about it as she heads towards a particular building...]

There it is! There's Sugarcube Corner!

[The ponies avoiding him is all-to-familiar, he knows those glances, those whispers. It's just like it was back in Fix-It Felix Jr.

Ralph's slowly losing hope, what if Fluttershy's friend is like the rest of these ponies?

And it doesn't help that Sugarcube Corner has a tiny door. There's no way he can fit though that. He might be able to squeeze an arm through, but that'd be about it.]

Oh. [An awkward silence descends for a moment.] Maybe it'd be best if you go in and bring them out?

Oh! Oh...yes, you're right. Just wait right there!

[Fluttershy nods and goes inside. Seems like she's in there for an awfully long time, doesn't it?]

[Ralph tries to be patient, he really does. But the other ponies are peering out the windows at him, staring and judging. He's feeling nervous left all on his own in a strange game with no friends around.

He makes his way over to the window quickly, hope nobody was attached to those plants he just accidentally squished.

Ralph tries to peer inside the house, but the window's so low and hard for him to see into, while struggling to get a peek, he might just knock some of the window frame off, along with maybe some of the exterior of the house.]

[There is a little bit of noise behind Ralph.]

"SURPRISE!"

[And a small explosion as there is suddenly confetti everywhere, likely all over Ralph, too. Fluttershy comes out of the shop looking alarmed.]

Pinkie, it's not a surprise party!

[Behind Ralph, a small pink pony has set things up very nicely with a cake and such.

And the confetti. It's everywhere.]

[The sudden and unexpected noise startles Ralph greatly and he falls onto the wall and into the house. He's made a terrible mess of things again, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to come here.

He slowly picks himself up and brushes off the dust and debris, then finally turns around to discover the party Pinkie Pie had arranged.

Instead of being happy, Ralph looks down at the ground. He ruined her house by accident, was that any way to repay her for giving him a party?]

I'm sorry about your house. I'd offer to fix it, but I'd probably just make things worse.

[Fluttershy covers her eyes with her hooves at the destruction.]

Are you okay?

"Oh, it's all right, as long as nopony was hurt! We'll get it fixed up soon--it was just an accident, after all! Here, have some cake!"

[At least the pink pony seems unruffled by the destruction.]

[Ralph gives a small nod.]

I'm fine, the house...not so much.

[When Pinkie Pie says that it's an accident, Ralph gets an odd look on his face. He's shocked and surprised and more than grateful that she's not angry or judging him for messing up her house. And she's still offering him cake!

He's completely overwhelmed and not sure how to respond.]

...Are you sure it's okay?

It's not the first time there have been accidents here...sometimes Pinkie gets out of hand...

[Fluttershy offers a shy smile at that and the pink pony is just as enthusiastic as ever. Look, she's even carried over a piece of the cake]

"Yeah, everypony makes mistakes! But that's no reason to get all grumpy or let cake go to waste!"

Really? The way the others were reacting, it seemed like they didn't happen too often...

[Ralph puts a hand behind his neck.] Usually when I cause an accident, everybody yells at me.

"Well, they don't happen really super-amazingly often and I think part of it's probably because they've never seen a giant hairless ape before!"

Um...Pinkie...they're called hyuu-mans...

[Yes, Pinkie may think Fluttershy just brought home another weird animal...]

And there's still no reason to yell. It's not like that's going to make everything better...

[If Pinkie wasn't being so kind, he'd probably take offense to that comment.]

Huh, they haven't? There's a lot of humans in the other games, but none of them are as big as me...

Yeah, well, it's my job to make a mess of things in the game, so they already aren't happy with me. When I mess up, it just proves to them that I can't do anything right.

Most ponies don't go out very often...we're all very happy here in our own game most of the time...

[Fluttershy seems surprised.]

But if it's your job, then of course you should be good at it! That's not fair of them to get upset because you're doing what you're supposed to do...unless you were being mean to them about it, but I don't think you'd do that...

It seems like a nice enough place, I guess.

No! I mean, there's a couple of things that are programmed to happen, but I'd really rather not hurt anybody. I don't know why they don't understand that it's just a job. After hours, the only time I wreck things is on accident.

But all they see me as is a Bad Guy.

Oh, that's horrible of them! You're really a nice guy, even if you have to be the Bad Guy...

[Would a really nasty Bad Guy have helped with those Cy-Bugs? Nope.]
