the UTTER CHAOS meme

Quick! Run! Hide! Scream! Flail uselessly! That's about all you'll be able to do against... whatever we're all afraid of. Um. What was that, again? Well, nevermind, it's scary anyway.

If you're a character in this meme, you have suddenly found yourself amidst a group of people, all of whom are panicking about... something. For the moment, it's not immediately obvious what that something is, but it seems like they all know something you don't. Maybe there's a tornado coming. Maybe there's a sudden flea infestation and you just haven't gotten swarmed yet. Maybe Cthulhu is just around the corner. Maybe everyone but you is mind controlled and trying to get away from crazy delusions of aliens landing and all singing Nyan cat in about fifteen different keys.

Or maybe it's all just a false alarm that's gotten out of control. But can you really afford to assume that?

Will you join in the flailing, try to snoop out the root cause, or be the one trying to get everyone else to just calm down already?

Rules
1. Your character will run into other characters in the midst of the panic.
2. Write the reason for panicking in the subject line, or label it as open for responders to make up. (Or leave everyone clueless, that works, too!)
3. ?????
4. CHAOS!!!!! ~~And, you know, profit.~~

Just remember, when in doubt,

[He grins.] I will! It'll be better than some of the stuff they play.

Sometimes they enjoy certain songs a little too much, they need a bit more variety in their lives.

Oh, the birds know so many beautiful songs, I'm sure they could sing something to fit anypony's tastes! We'll definitely give you some variety!

I like the sound of that! We can show them how to throw a real party!

And we can show them not to leave anypony out of their parties, too!

[Ralph nods.] Right! There's ways to include everyone, you just have to be creative!

Exactly!

[He gives her a big smile.] Thanks for everything, I really mean it.

Oh, you're welcome!

[She's returning that smile.]

I'm glad we could become friends.

[Ralph's smile somehow manages to get even bigger.]

Me too! Man, you know what? You're my first friend! I actually have a friend! This is great!

[She is joining Ralph with a big smile of her own.]

Oh...oh, my! I'm so honored!

This is so exciting!

Uh, what do friends even do, though?

Friends do lots of different things! They can talk to each other, or play games together, or cook a meal or take care of critters...they stick by you in the good times and the bad times.

That sounds pretty nice.

I'm still new to this friendship thing, so I'll do my best!

I'm sure you'll do a great job!

I hope so! I'm pretty good at wrecking things, but I don't want to mess this up.

You'll be fine! It's a lot harder to wreck a friendship than it is a building.

You think so? I mean, yeah, there's nothing you can actually touch to wreck, but, uh, I'm not exactly an expert on friendships, only wrecking things.

You'll do just fine! You'd have to be a really mean bad guy to wreck a friendship, but you're a nice bad guy!

[Ralph chuckles at this.]

I try to be nice, though I gotta warn you, my temper gets the best of me sometimes.

Oh, that's okay, everypony has temper tantrums sometimes. My friend Mr. Bear gets grumpy sometimes when his back's bothering him, but he's really very sweet.

They do? Really? I haven't seen anybody get as angry as I do before...

Oh, yes, everypony has bad days! If yours are a little worse, it's okay, because you're still a very nice guy in the end!

[Ralph smiles at this.]

Thanks. And thanks for giving me a chance. I just wish that everybody else understood the way things are like you do.

[There's quite a bit of shy blushing.]

Oh...oh, I do try to understand, I'm so happy I helped. You take care of yourself when you go back to your game, okay?

[Ralph nods.]
