The FAMILY Meme

How does it work? Simple! Choose a relationship (or roll for one, if it suits your fancy), and then RNG for a situation! That, or just go straight for whatever situation appeals to you. These are all fairly vague: just something to start you off!  Parent-Child      1. Rock-a-Bye How do you get a fussy child to sleep? Read them a story, sing them a lullaby, or just let them stay up until they exhaust themselves? Whatever the choice, it is time for bed.       2. For The First Time You've never met this person in your life, but it turns out they're one of the two reasons you exist. Maybe they walked out when you were young. Maybe they never knew you were born. Whatever the reason, it is now time to meet them.       3. Past Midnight That curfew was set for a reason. Now it's two AM, and your kid is just now dragging in. Maybe they're drunk. Or got into a fight. Or just had way too much fun snogging their new love interest. It's time for them to face the music.       4. New Home It's the first day of your new life together, as parent and child. [She shakes her head.] Whatever you like is fine. Or I can cook. I said I could if you'd prefer it.

[She shakes her head.] This is more than enough. Thank you. [At least she seems less distraught about it.]

[She nods her head and leaves the room.

And then proceeds to hide in her own room to have a quiet stress out session. She jumped right into this without any ideas. She was probably ruining Kido's life. God damn it.

Gotta push through. Gotta hope things will work out somehow.]

[While Kido is absolutely freaking out in her own room, not sure how to take someone being seemingly genuinely nice to her. She's sure it's because she just can't hear a patronizing tone of voice but...

She doesn't have much to put away. When she finishes, she sits on the bed, nervously. Like she's too afraid to move.

She's not great at being alone.]

[After ordering online, the pizza arrives before long. She's not sure what happens next. Do they eat at the table? Shinra made a big deal about them eating together even though she couldn't eat but. Kido didn't need to know that yet.

Depending on whether Kido comes out when the pizza arrives or not, Celty either has plate(s( ready or brings a plate to her room.]

[She's not sure she should go out. She's not sure she's really welcome after her outburst. She answers the door nervously when Celty knocks but her eyes are still that strange glowing red. At least Celty can probably still see her.]

[People with red eyes exist, right? She's pretty sure she was attacked by one not too long ago.

She waves awkwardly and attempts to cover that awkwardness with an awkward gesture to the pizza. This is awkward.]

Why is she doing this. Why is she doing anything with her hands. She should never do anything with her hands again. She hands the box to Kido, a plastic plate sitting on-top of it. Yay food.]

[The whole box? Kido's eyebrows furrow in concern.] Did you take any?

[This she prepared for.] Yeah, I had a big lunch, so I only took a few.

[This becomes a long silence where they both stand there. Until Celty loses her cool and types a quick]

Well, goodnight. [ and then hides in her room again.

[Kido's... not going to complain about this.

Though she will clean up after herself when she's eaten and do dishes and stuff if there's stuff to do dishes with. She's a cleanly kid all things considered.

She'll curl up early, nervous about tomorrow. She'll fall asleep listening to a music player with her earbuds in. Without changing. On top of the covers. This is how humans do the things.]

The next morning, Celty wakes up feeling stressed. She normally did her deliveries at night, but she felt it important to be at home with a new person here and all that. She felt off-kilter, on top of the new things plaguing her mind.

She started the day with a shower (helmet off) before moving to the kitchen (helmet on). She should make scrambled eggs. That should be easy, right?

She's not sure she's seen scrambled eggs this black and burnt before but maybe that gave it flavor. Now to check on Kido.]

The player died in the night and her earbuds fell out of her ears, so she's really just a sleepy, scruffy mess when she hears the door open and sits up, blearily.

Helmet still. Oh, yeah. She'd forgotten. She's going to die in this house.]

[She offers a small wave before heading back to kitchen. She's pretty sure the eggs are done, so she works on pouring the milk and making toast. Things she did understand.]

[Oh wow. Kido thinks a brief 'well at least she tried' before mumbling something about not being hungry.]

... I need to get to school. Thank you. [If she keeps thanking Celty maybe she won't wind up back at the orphanage.]

I'll be fine. I'll cook tomorrow to make up for it. [She's going to shut herself back in her room so she can pretend she's presentable and get her hair brushed and uniform on at least.]

[Kido seems about as normal as most kids she saw around the high school, so she takes her word for it. She waits until Kido's on her way before saying.]
