Make a Move
![]() Here's the thing: this person is completely, totally, absolutely into you. You're into them, admit it or not. And the icing on the cake? This, right now, is the moment. Whether there's romance in the air on a perfect date or it's an uncomfortably inappropriate time and place, you know there will never be an opportunity like this again. There's sparks. There's a connection. They're giving you A Look that melts your heart. All you have to do is make a move. You can do that, right? ...right? You're not too stubborn or too shy to do so, are you? This is your shot! But - wait. Oh no. Are you the kind of idiot who can't take a hint even if there are blaring neon arrows pointing you in the right direction? Hopefully, fingers crossed, you aren't. Because, like we said, you have to seize this once in a lifetime opportunity. No one likes to have to kick themselves down the road for not taking a chance, after all.

Honestly? It's... the same for me. I was a weird teenager, having to adjust to... You know.
[To illustrate, she hovered off of the ground for a second.]
But I've tried to date, and I read romantic stories, so I'm pretty sure we're heading toward 'item'. I mean. The kiss...
[And oh, what a kiss.]
no subject
[He grinned, stopping where they were to tug her around to face him.]
I wanted to, but... I missed out. Back then, anyway. And now...
[A small shrug, his other hand moving to find her free one.]
I'd rather look for the right one than just any one. And if we're going by kisses, then that was a heck of a gauge. Not sure that one can be topped.
[Okay, so that was a bit of a goad, a little bait to see if she'd take it.]
no subject
[She faced him, stepped up to him, looked up into his eyes and... He really did have such pretty eyes. And such unfair eyelashes.]
It depends on which gauge you're judging by. For first kisses? I don't think it can be. But we still have so many possibilities.
Like...
[She gained a couple inches, her toes no longer on the sand as she rose up to be even with him. She liked him being taller, but just then, she didn't want to let go of his hands to pull herself up the other way.]
Like second kisses. And third. And more. And if we keep going, we can see how good our first mistletoe kiss is. So many possibilities...
[As she spoke, her voice got quieter, and she got closer. Word by word, she neared until her lips were brushing his, and then she was kissing him again. Slow, soft, with just a little heat. Just enough to let him know that she was definitely interested. That she wanted to kiss him and be close to him and ... and try to keep things going for a mistletoe kiss. And even a Valentine's kiss, if they could. It was getting easier and easier to imagine the domestic things as well as the--
...not so domestic at all things.]
no subject
Whether it was a Kryptonian thing or just a Kara thing, he was happy to be able to experience it. The woman packed a hell of a punch in a kiss, and he pressed back into it, feeling that rising tide of something he'd repressed and locked up for far too long start to nudge at the corners of his mind.]
no subject
But even she had to breathe sometimes, and when she drew back for a sip of air, there was no way she couldn't smile at him, nose still brushing nose.]
I hope I don't get used to that. I like how it feels right now. New.
no subject
Oh, I don't know. There's something to be said for familiar... But I'm liking new right now. New and warm and sweet.
no subject
You're right. I think familiar will be nice, too.
[Will be. She was going to do her best to make sure they had a chance to reach familiarity.]
no subject
Very nice.
[If this was what the rest of their stay was going to be like, Steve felt like he'd somehow lucked out somewhere in life.]
no subject
She could definitely get used to this. If this could be theirs... Mmm.]
no subject
Weren't we supposed to go swimming?
no subject
[Not that she was complaining, though. But she still nodded.]
Think this spot is good enough, or should we see what's around the bend up there?
no subject
[He grinned at her comment, thinking it was a bit of the other way around, but hey, who was he to argue with her?"
no subject
This will definitely do. Now I've just got to... change. Kind of.
no subject
[He'd been tugged along, grinning at her enthusiasm and caught up in the whole feel the island was dragging over him. Like a quiet, peaceful blanket.]
no subject
[See? She'd been prepared.
Kara reached down to her dress hem and started to pull it up and over her head. Since she was wearing the bathing suit underneath, no problem.
Right. Just be glad the skirt of her dress was hiding her blush.
She did reveal that she'd bought a bikini, though, and the shade matched her blush: pink.]
no subject
Someone doesn't do subtle colors, do they?
no subject
[Pink. Flowers. Frill. It was just too cute for her not to like.]
I almost got a pastel, but it made me look way too pasty.
no subject
[Those arms moved to slide around her again, his grin back full force as he made sure that they stayed where they should -- this time, on skin instead of anything covered by cloth.]
But maybe I kind of like the red and blue theme.
no subject
[But the skin-to-skin contact had her stomach full of butterflies. It wasn't a privilege she'd granted very many people. She almost shivered.
Her hands went to his shoulders instead, stroking from the curve of his neck, over the straps of his tank top, down his arms. Just because she could.]
no subject
[It was really hard to think about anything outside of her at the moment. Her skin was so warm and smooth, his fingers tracing little designs along the small of her back. She looked so bright and fresh and he just wanted to wrap himself around her and keep her that way.
Her hands on him weren't a bad thing, either. They made his skin prickle, a shiver skimming over him as he took in a sharp breath through his nose.]
You're going to make me forget, again, why we came out here.
no subject
I can't help it. You feel nice.
[And, with it said, she couldn't be ashamed of it. It was too true for that. So she just gave him a guilty smile and let her fingers trace the curve his shirt made against his shoulderblades.]
And I'm a little selfish. When we eventually have to go home, and when I'm having a bad day or I'm lonely, I want to be able to close my eyes and remember what this was like so everything will feel better.
no subject
[One hand slid up, pausing for a moment at her top, then skipping up over it to reach her shoulder. His hand slid down from there to one of hers, lifting it up so he could press a kiss against the tips of them.]
You could just come over and remember in person.
no subject
What would your friends think of Supergirl showing up at your house to kiss you until you couldn't breathe before taking off again?
no subject
[He liked that look she gave him, the way something so small made her react. He kissed the next finger over.]

Apologies for the delay. Suddenly, I have icons!
Gee, I wonder how that happened.
I found the thread, and I'm amazed. But I'm guilty, too, 'cause I wasn't the one who nominated you.
Hah. I saw me up there and was like "Aww", then tried to think of anyone I played with w/o a paid.
i would have if I had gotten there, but it's so sweet to get nominated, too! <3
It's always nice to be appreciated =)
Believe me, you are.
:P So are you.

No worries - I had a busy day today, so the (somewhat) sensible bedtime helped.
Hah, depends on your timezone, I guess.
That's true. Eastern over here.
PST here. Whoops
Every time I see PST, I think 'ooh, a secret'. I'm weird.
psssst, you are weird. Pass it on. =D
