Second Chances Meme

When you were children, the two of you were inseparable. You used to play together, the best of friends. But at some point you were torn apart, or one of you moved away.

Since then, you’ve grown up and moved on. But you’ve never forgotten them. Your childhood friend, perhaps even your first love. Now chance or circumstance have brought you together again. You’re both adults, and you’ve changed so much. Will you get along as well as ever, or has it been too long? Or maybe, just maybe, there’s a new element to your relationship now, and this is your chance to explore that.

How to play:
Post with your character and preferences in the subject line
Write a little 'then and now' to give other people some idea of the assumed CR. What was your character's childhood like? What is their life like now? How have they changed? How might the two of you have met as children and how will you meet again now?

Dollhouse AU

Welcome to the Dollhouse

The Dollhouse. It's luxurious. It's beautiful. Enough so to remind any visitor of a spa: there are little ponds, arranged rocks, sliding doors that disguise massage facilities, gyms.

But the Dollhouse isn't a vacation spot. It's a twisted, high-brow brothel.

Inside, the Actives, blank, erased, and docile. Their handlers, charged with protecting the Dollhouse's assets. The programmers, who create whole new personalities to imprint on their blank slates.

And outside: the clients, ready to pay for people made to their exact specifications.

HOW IT WORKS:

Come Back to You

You can never stay in one place for too long, be the cause your own itching feet or less than pleasant circumstances keeping you on the run. Still, more often than not, you find yourself returning to the same old places, like animals returning from winter migration. Actually, you keep coming back to one person, because you know no matter where you roam, you'll always have a place with them...and in their bed.

Absence really does make the heart grow fonder with you two, so live in this moment. Who knows when you'll have to leave yet again?

You know exactly what to expect: out there, in that big wide word, is the person who's just for you. A soulmate, maybe. A destined lover. The story's always the same. The princess falls for the prince, her knight and shining armor. The heroes will grow to love one another. Happily ever after.

Except, somehow, a chapter from another book got put into your tale.

You have the one you know you should be with, or you know where or who they are...yet somehow, somewhere, your heart got stolen by another. A heroic soul loves a bandit. Snow White is charmed by a dwarf instead of good-looking royalty.

So maybe you do have a choice. Will you follow your script and be with who the fates intend, or take a chance and go where your own desires lead?
