• Thief: You are part of the thief guild. You may be allied with the Assassins, you may be allied with the Templars, or you may be completely independent. You tell your fellow thieves everything; they safeguard your life and you safeguard theirs. Thieves are generally well-informed about a city's whereabouts, and know what events are happening where. This, however, does not mean you have to give this information easily. Thieves free-run over rooftops as well as Assassins.

• Courtesan: You are part of the courtesan faction. You may be allied with the Assassins, Templars, or be independent. A courtesan is high-ranking, well-spoken and educated; at many times, they can be mistaken for normal citizens. Courtesans gather information from their (usually affluent) clients and act as distractions or as masks. They do not share the same strict code of conduct that thieves do; they can be honorable or steal their fellow courtesans' clients. Courtesans do not free-run, but can be armed with short blades or bladed fans.

• Romani: You are part of the Romani; commonly mislabeled as "gypsies". You may be allied with the Assassins, Templars, or you can be independent from either faction. Like courtesans, they help distract with street performances, ranging from playing music, firebreathing, and dancing (even flirting). Many Romani have firm rules regarding their culture and are very protective of it, given the group has a variety of ethnicities. Romani cannot free-run and are unarmed, quickly fleeing the area if a fight arises.

• Mercenary: You are part of the mercenary guild. Mercenaries fight for their cities, but can also be allied to the Assassin or Templar cause. They are able to provide distractions, as well as fight alongside their allies. Some mercenaries have a kinship with each other; others do not. They wield heavy weapons and cannot free-run. If bothered by idle street performers, they will aggress.

• Vigilante: Vigilantes are groups of individuals who generally ally with anyone who serves their community or family. Some groups are made of the friends or family members of citizens who were rescued; others are made of those who want change and rally in the streets to support whomever served their community. They will shout at opposing factions, as well as thank and aid their allies.

• Scholar: Scholars usually move in small groups, in and around cities. They are usually men or women deep in prayer, and usually hide allies because a fellow scholar was rescued. They assist their allies by weaving them through heavily guarded areas without being seen. They are also frequently visited by either faction to gain information; it is not uncommon for an Assassin to be sent on a mission to study with a scholar.

RNG OPTIONS

1. Training. Do you know how to steal, thief? What about interrogate? Man, how can you be an Assassin if you don't even know how to free-run and parkour? Looks like you need to be dragged back for some extra training before you get yourself killed out there.

2. Making Alliances. You need information to take down this guy, so you need to find someone who's willing to get it for you. Maybe you're out of luck and need to start making some friends who have your back before you do anything else. Or you have the information--and you know it's going to be in high demand. Who do you go to?

3. Enemy Avoidence. Oh, shit. Looks like your target or enemy caught wind that you were in town. It's time to lay low, gather intel, and try to rethink your next move. ... on the other hand. Maybe it's time to strike, before they start fleeing.

4. Missions. Looks like the boss man is sending you to go strike some fear into the populace. Looks like you're sent into another country to do some surviellence work. Just remember: when you come back, you're just going to be one step higher on the ladder. That'll make it worthwhile, right?

5. Journey Start. You have something to take care of, on your own. It's personal, now, and nothing's going to stop you. Someone messed up along the way (was it you? was it someone else?) and it's up to you to set things right again.

6. The Big Finish. You're coming back home; and man, are you a different person. Killed someone that got to you, saw something you shouldn't have...? What's up and why are you not the way you were before? What's more--how are you going to cope?

7. Wildcard! RNG again, make up your own scenario, or try a mix of any of the above.
