The end isn't near, not exactly, but something is up. Something strange. Perhaps people have been a little off lately? Things might seem too perfect, people too nice, too cheerful, or maybe they don't even remember you?

But that's the problem.

People aren't what they should be and it seems to be a growing problem, but you're not sure what's up. Until you do. That's when shit gets crazy. The entire town, city, wherever you are, people are coming after you, they want to make you like them. A "Blank". To make you one of the network, just a copy of who you used to be, with selective memories of the person you were. Run as far as you can, but they'll catch up, they're every where now. Can you escape them? Can you pretend to not know and keep living your life as you used to be? Perhaps you can help them bring others into the fold, further the purpose of the network.

Whatever you do, better make sure you're ready for a fight either way.

- Pick your side. Blank or human? Or maybe you're a human who's helping the Blanks?
- Reply to others and have fun, be awesome to each other!

Blanks: "Robots" that are made with the DNA of the human they look like and mimic to a degree. Their limbs pop off easily and the joints look much like that of a doll. Their blood is blue and they can be dismembered quite easily, but also can put themselves back together or just get remade, good as new. Blanks can be spotted by their odd behavior, if they don't quite seem like the person they should be. They also don't have any scars. They're made with no imperfections and can even be made to look like the younger versions of a person.

When angered or when attempting to turn a human into one of them, to take their DNA, their eyes and mouths open wide, lighting up and emitting a bright blue and they'll engage anyone who's not one of them, usually with a hand up and out to grab for the human they're chasing. They will hive mind at this point, any in the immediate vicinity joining up to go after any poor unfortunate human.

Best way to avoid them is to not show any indication that you know what's going on... and get the fuck out of dodge!

AUs fine and dandy.]

[They'd been running for what felt like ages. At one point Thorin had grabbed Bilbo's hand, tugging him up stairs of a building and into a dark room. Closing the door behind them he'll get them down and behind a desk, breathing heavy from all their running.

They've put a lot of distance between them and the Blanks, those terrible things, but it won't stop him from feeling like they're still right there. His hands are covered in blue, his shirt is stained with it down the front... he's still not let go of Bilbo's hand, in fact he's gripping it hard.

Thorin just stares off into the darkness, seeming so very out of it.]

They're gone...

[He'll mutter finally, voice cracking. Kili and Fili, they're gone. They'd bumped into them after getting split up, but it hadn't been right... they'd turned out to be Blanks and then it had been a fight to not let them turn Bilbo. To not turn himself. It's now just settling in that his nephews are no longer with them.]

[Thorin's gripping so hard that it hurts, but Bilbo can't exactly say anything about it. Besides, the pain helps to ground him a little, even if he wants the world to just open up and swallow them whole.

Fili and Kili had become like nephews, like sons to him, and it's difficult to accept that they're gone. That so many people are gone.]

...Thorin, I....

[He has no idea if anyone else is okay. Where the others could be. Kili and Fili... no no, what of the others, think Thorin, think! He can't break down, not right now, not like this. He had to stay strong, they had to get out of this.]

Don't.

[He doesn't sound angry, just tired.]

"I won't."

He'll stay silent, then. There's nothing he can say or do to make things better. Bilbo wishes there was anything.

He lets go of the other's hand, but it only moves up, grips at the sleeve of his shirt and he'll lean forward, pressing his forehead against the desk they're hiding behind. Thorin inhales deeply, trying to keep himself in control, but with each breath it sounds like it's becoming harder to not break down.

"We... we'll have to find the others." He manages to say without his voice cracking too much.
