THE QUANTUM CANON LEAP MEME
aka the "LEAP into someone else's canon" meme
Based on the concept in the late 80s/early 90s TV Show Quantum Leap You have become the Sam Beckett of the RP World and find yourself with the ability to leap into other people's canons, past, present and future. But unlike Sam, you leap in as yourself and somehow have to figure out where the hell you have ended up and what makes the world tick. You could end up anywhere. Maybe in the backseat of the Impala with Dean and Sam, in the middle of an X-Men showdown with Mageneto, or how the hell does all THAT fit into a tiny blue phonebox?! Perhaps you find yourself dangling off the side of building to be rescued by the Avengers, having a coffee with Joey and Chandler at Central Perk, or find yourself in a hospital bed with Dr House and co trying to diagnose why your hand is attached to your nose? Whatever it is, you have been plucked from your world and rudely dumped into someone else's. How you figure out what the hell is going on is up to you. The tagger determines the canon and scenario and you run with it. The tagger will assume you belong in their world and should know what the hell you're doing. Maybe you want to try and bluff your way through it, or maybe you want to let them know ASAP that you really don't belong there and interrogate them to find as much out about their world as possible? Either way you're stuck with each other for an indefinite period of time, so you need to figure it out somehow. Will they be cooperative, or will you have to convince them it's in their best interests for you to know? It's all up to you guys! Is this your first leap, or have you been stuck in the loop for a long time? Unfamiliarity of each other's canon is the beauty of this meme. You have to work together to learn about the canon place you have leapt into. If you hit it off and have fun, maybe it can be the start of a fun crossover verse for you?
