[Irene has faked her own death more than once, and so has Eames, in the time they've known one another. But Karachi had seemed, for all intents and purposes, devastatingly permanent. Video footage of a beheading. Enough proof to fool Mycroft Holmes himself. And, by extension, anyone she'd ever known or cared for. All of her pretty girls and the odd boy or two.

She is, however, very much alive. Six months later, she waits until a job brings him into the country she's been poking about in, then breaks into his hotel room (sidestepping his usual traps,) steals his shower, crawls into his bed, and falls into a deep, comforted sleep.

Hopefully he won't shoot her before he realizes who she is, changed though she may be by the captivity and her rather hectic, lean afterlife.]

[ Blake knew what it was he was getting into the first time he let Bane stay here with him at his apartment. He knew what it meant by agreeing to help the mercenary and the army that he brought with him.

He just didn't think he'd end up changing his mind somewhere along the way. Gotham had taken from him, had made him suffer more than one loss in his life - not just his father but his faith in people and the chance of having a "normal", "well-adjusted" life, not learning to live behind a mental and emotional mask - and he knew the city couldn't be saved. The Batman had tried and look what had happened to him. The very people he had tried to serve and protect turned on him and hunted him down like an animal.

This city couldn't be saved by either White nor Dark Knight. Even after Harvey Dent and Batman, there was still crime, still festering and sneaking along the streets and in-between buildings.

But now, as the plan was drawing nearer to its "official" starting point, John was having doubts. He had doubts about letting Bane know about the Batman's true identity. He had doubts about continuing to deceive Gordon while he was lying in a hospital bed, counting on Blake to live up to his new promotion as detective while also trying to dodge Foley's crosshairs.

Getting out of the bed and getting dressed to report in for work was the only distraction he could do that hopefully wouldn't give away any of these unsettling thoughts to the other man still weighing down his mattress. He appeared to be asleep but John knew better than to assume that much with Bane. He still had the fading bruises on parts of his body as a reminder. ]

Turning around, she nervously wandered over to Angel. Standing with her feet shoulder width apart, she placed a hand over his shoulder and then stood on her tip toes so she could gently press her lips to his cheek.

She felt selfish about the admission that she was about to make, but she wanted Angel to know how she really felt about him just in case she didn't make it back to LA.]

[Okay TECHNICALLY the note taped to the door says 'do not disturb' but it's common knowledge that most signs beginning with 'do not' end with 'except for Toni Stark because she does what she wants'.

Also she's come bearing a peace offering in the form of tea. Usually she'd have brought coffee, but something calming seemed more prudent than a big mug full of stimulants after the 'incident'.

They were nothing alike. His Sister was world-weary mercenary. Miss Hellsing was a vampire with a longer time of viewing the world.

His Sister had taught him everything he knew.

Florian Rain was the mongrel candidate of human and demon to rule over the Three Kingdoms. With the human race without a ruler over its entire kin, he had read of the deeds that had happened. Demons and Deities were mostly held in.

For this vacation, he was possessed by the desire to court Miss Hellsing. He had invited her to visit him in his vacation home, just outside the borders of society, but still close enough for her to feed should the need or desire present itself.

In the times that he had glanced at her, he had felt such an immediate pull that his young heart could not help but be swooned by her dignity and grace.

And yet... if he ascended the throne, he would no longer have the time to travel. The human world was in such disrepair if one looked at it from his kind's point of view.

But if he could have this one woman, he would hesitate to take the throne. He desired to please those he loved, and whatever Miss Hellsing desired, he would be happy to give.

That is... if she would allow him to court her at all.

The half-demon was dressed formally, his suit pristine and hair neatly combed back. Nothing was out of place. All that was left was to await her arrival.
