Childhood. Sweet memories of days gone by, when the snow was magic and the summer lasted for forever. A spare aftrnoon didn't need much in the way of entertainment-- just a few pillows and blankets, an open room, and plenty of imagination were all you needed to make...

A Pillow Fort

The Deets:

[It's true. During her short time as Vice-Captain, Rukia's seen Ukitake do some slightly odd things, but this one takes the cake by far. So when she walks into the Division headquarters and sees the giant fort set up in the middle of the room (presumably to include tables and chairs normally used for meetings) she stops and balks a little.]

Captain... [His reiatsu outs him.] If this is some way to get Captain Hitsugaya over for lunch, I'm not sure it's the best plan...

[ Well she thought that the plan was to build a pillow fort, but it looked like someone was a little too tired for that. Maybe he'd enjoy the surprise when he woke up! Great plan!

Izumo eyed Naota, then grinned despite the kid's expression. He did like the brat, which was why he cheerfully demanded. "Hey hey, Naota-kun, help me hold this up here, I need another set of hands!"

This being a blanket, as Izumo tried to pull it into place over the back of a chair. It kept slipping off the far end of the couch, and obviously needed stablization all the way at that end so it could be properly draped over Izumo's nest of pillows and blankets he'd piled on the floor. It was nasty rainy weather outside, and Izumo was tired of looking at the rain. Pillowfort it was!

[ His ninja pillow fort also employs the use of a futon or two, blankets and yukata held up by chairs and samurai swords, lots and lots of origami, and his laptop to light it from the inside.

Surely a pillow fort will protect his blog from being flamed. No? Okay, then he'll stick a sign on the outside that says "No trolls or flamers allowed!" and hide in there for a while. That'll do the trick. ]

[ they already have one tanuki at the shrine, so what's one more. not that he knows of tanuki being able to transform, but none the less. and with his sister being out, he built the sort-of fort with futons and stuff, with enough space for him (and her, once she returns) to curl up. ]

[ The best kind of pillow fort is the kind where you use your imagination. Kairi's fort is a work in process, with a couple of old cardboard tubes recycled from last year's Christmas wrapping paper as decorative pillars. She's taping together paper cones to top them for some great castle towers. ]

[ Scorpius however is just going to lay down on his elbows, his blond hair falling in front of his face as he peered up at the pillow fort above them. It was nice and elaborate, thanks in part to magic. A few of sheets are being held up by spells. The blond just stared up at the light that was shining though the very thin sheets.]

When the doorbell rings, Lucy leaves her boys in the midst of constructing the biggest pillow fort possible. She's allowed her eldest - Scott - to have a pillow-fort themed ninth birthday party only under strict rules. Any dirty laundry gets washed by them. If they rip anything, she'll stop their pocket money for a month. No breaking things if at all possible (and all the ornaments have been prudently removed to the attic).

Scott's invited all the boys in his class to his party, and she's been expecting them to start turning up around now. Lucy opens the front door to see a blonde woman and a mischievous dark-haired boy, and she smiles in welcome.

"Hey there. I'm Lucy, Scott's mom. Are you here for the party?"

She's answered a moment later, as Scott pounds towards the door with a gleeful shout of, "David!"

[The time: Mid-morning. The occasion: Another world meeting. The location: An abandoned meeting room inside the hotel, in which Alfred was trying to construct the Most Awesome Super Duper Amazing Pillow Fort of Freedom Mark III when he'd seen Liechtenstein passing by. He'd basically raided every unlocked hotel room he could find for the supplies and there was no doubt this stunt would ultimately get him kicked out.

But in the meantime he had a fort of impressive size half built and was currently standing on one of the tables positioning a pillow strategically so there could be a turret on the Fort. Now he needed a roof and for that he would need some of the blankets piled high by the door.]

Noiz was starting to recover, he's out of the hospital but he's been warned to take it easy still. All these feelings are new to him..] Warmth, ha-- perhaps even more than just an exterior feeling when I'm around you. [Feeling is crazy, man. He's still super intriguing by all of these new tugs or tingles. Being enclosed by the fort, the heat from his laptop, pressed close to Aoba.. all of this was causing warmth.]

Izumo is ridiculous and playful enough to have made his own fort, but he'll happily join in on building yours, too! He's all for snuggles and snacks, and falling asleep on people... Be sure there will be lots of squashy pillows and fuzzy-soft blankets: Izumo likes comfortable things.
