Childhood. Sweet memories of days gone by, when the snow was magic and the summer lasted for forever. A spare aftrnoon didn't need much in the way of entertainment-- just a few pillows and blankets, an open room, and plenty of imagination were all you needed to make...

A Pillow Fort

The Deets:

[A slight twitch of Naota's brow slips through his otherwise-stoic demeanor as he stares his friend down with a note of irritation.]

I pass.

Doing this kind of thing is too lame for words. [He turned to take a seat.] You can handle building that thing on your own, can't you? Just take care of it yourself...

[FUN IS FOR BABIES; NAOTA IS TOTALLY TOO COOL FOR FUN except not really though]

Suit yourself. I just figured you'd be cool enough to join in, but I guess not.

[ Gosh. Denzel pouts a little and starts pulling chairs together so he could have something sturdy for his fort. ]

[comingtsun]

[A pause.] ...Whatever.

[Naota sat down and looked away, as if idly waiting for the other boy to finish his 'childish' task. Eventually he turns to passively watch the other boy work in silence- totally still not interested, of course- but Denzel is making the fort all weird! Well not weird but it could be easily be a lot better in his opinion! Naota is silent for another few minutes before finally speaking up.]

Hey- why are you putting that chair like that?? If you space it out more there could be more room.

Huh?

[ He looked back at Naota for a moment before turning back to the chair. Huh he was right... He starts to push the chair over a little more. It would feel a lot less cramped when it was finished like this. ]

Hey! Good call, Naota!

[comingtsun]

[Naota averts his gaze at the praise; thinking it over for a moment before raising himself up from the floor. He makes a point to sigh as he approaches the fort.]

Well... I guess if you NEED it, I'll help you out a little...

[He takes hold of one edge of the blanket, adjusting it's position over the fort.]

[ Denzel can't help but grin a bit when Naota comes over. Maybe he should have made things a little messier just so he would have joined in faster. Either way it was still cool to have him helping. Denzel starts working on piling up the pillows for the walls of the fort. ]

[As long as Naota can convince himself that the only reason he's participating here is because Denzel would obviously be entirely hopeless here without his assistance, Naota actually finds that he doesn't feel so silly allowing himself to take part anymore. Although, he does speak up again sometime in the midst of propping up a few couch-cushions;]

...Just don't tell anyone about this, alright?

Hey we're friends, right? I'm not going to go out of my way to embarrass you.

[ He throws a pillow in Naota's direction. ]

It's just us you don't gotta be afraid of having a little fun.

Gh-! [Naota blinks as he gets a face-full of pillow; slightly embarrassed by Denzel's words despite himself. Of course unwilling to show this, Naota furrows his brow.]

Hey...! [He throws the pillow back in Denzel's direction; aiming straight at his face.]

Ack!

[ Apparently Denzel wasn't very good at thinking fast because he didn't see that coming. Instead of getting mad though, he just cracks up laughing. Probably not the reaction Naota thought he was going to get though. ]

You Jerk!

[ He laughs more and throws another pillow his way. ]

[A satisfied smirk crosses Naota's features as he lands his hit; chuckling.]

You shouldn't start what you can't finish!

[This time, Naota catches the thrown pillow in his hands with a grin- before running over toward the other boy with every intention of repeatedly whacking him with it.]

Melee attack...!

Oh no you don't!

[ he yanks a pillow from the side of the fort, mimicking his actions. He charges at him with full intent to swing like crazy. ]

[Naota lets out a laugh- an extreme rarity for him- as he wails on the other boy with his pillow; taking several hits himself in the process. After a minute of trading blows, Naota suddenly goes to clip Denzel's ankle with his foot; pushing the other boy over in the direction of their unfinished fort to break his fall.]

it's okay!

Wh-whaaa!?

[ Omph! Into the pillowfort he does. At least it's comfortable right? ]

[Successfully tipping the other boy over, Naota bends down to keep Denzel pinned with one hand- while the other threateningly raises his pillow up over his head with the other. Unless he quickly found an escape method, Denzel was about to be whacked with a sudden face-full of pillow.]

Any last words...?

[ he glances around the room to find an escape route. None he can see. Maybe he can distract him... ]

I do have one.

Oh yeah?

[Heh. It's probably gonna be something along the lines of "please", right? Naota smirks confidently as he assumes that Denzel will try and surrender now.]

Let's hear it.

Your fly's undone.

[ He says in the most deadpanned manner. It really wasn't but hey it might make him look. ]

Huh-!?

[Successfully distracted, Naota blinks; looking down at his pants to check.]

[ Denzel takes this chance to squirm out of his grip and grab his own pillow. ]
