THE CAPTIVITY MEME



You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.

Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.


1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.

2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9. The second character is holding the first character captive now.

3. ???

Scenarios


1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.


2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.

3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.

4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.

5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.

6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.

7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're our property, and you decide their fate.

8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.

[It's fairly simple, really. She's a cop and cops look after her own. So, she's leverage. A hostage he can use to help ensure that the police do what he wants, no questions asked. There are usually enough corrupt cops in any department to make this work.

That's why Debra is being held captive in the penthouse of a high-rise apartment. There are no physical bonds holding her there. No handcuffs or chains. But she'll find that she can't leave, even if she wants to. Elijah's compulsion takes care of that.

He walks in to see how his prisoner is doing, closing the door behind him. His stride is casual, relaxed. It's like he's just coming home after an easy day at work - no indication that this situation is anything but normal.]

Stiles crossed his arms over his chest as he looked at where Derek sat on the floor in his bedroom, still chained to his wall after over six months of being his 'pet'. He looked from the werewolf to the manual in his hand and back again, huffing out a breath.

"Are you ever going to actually like me?" He said with a small sigh before getting up and moving a little closer. "Its not like I've been mean to you. I haven't abused you or anything! I even let you out on the full moon! I mean..." He made a face, shaking his head. "You come back. Why bother when you don't even like me?"

He got back up, moving back to the bed and flopping down. All of his friends had gotten their 'pets' when they turned 16. They were supposed to be your constant companion, like another part of yourself. He felt like a failure since his own pet seemed to just glare and growl at him when he wasn't being freed to go run in the woods during the full moon.

He shouldn't have expected the return trip to go easy.

The end of a mission and Arikado had thought he could relax; take some time to close his eyes, breathe, and think towards the future. Then-

Chaos.

He'd been so occupied with getting the humans to safety that he hadn't seen the danger to himself until it was too late. The few countermeasures he'd taken (trivial ones, really) weren't enough to keep himself safe, and the next thing he'd known was waking upon cool stone, an exit being tantalizingly close but the moment he'd pulled himself to his feet and began to move for it-

Nothing.

Curious.

There'd been some time spent exploring his current position, but after a period he'd simply found a place to sit and take stock of himself and his condition. A bit worse for the wear, but otherwise well enough, if missing a few items that could be used to obtain assistance. Or at least inform the Agency that he'd be delayed.

They'd have to notice in their own time.

That wasn't true, of course.

Ramjet was, nonetheless, comfortable. Comfortable and waiting, watching the fire of a wreck on the other side of the road - whichever road it was, whichever planet it was - melt wiring and plastic and slowly spread to the surroundings.

Pretty, if not destructive enough. A part of the natural order of things. A natural order Ramjet was by his very existence, requiring no effort, disrupting. He was also disrupting it by sitting on this very nice black car since that would keep it from going anywhere else.]

This was all Erika's fault. Somehow, someway, the most impulsive of the blue Cures decided that Tsubomi needed something funny to loosen her up.

Cue the explanation as to why Tsubomi showed up at the Minazuki home dressed up in a fluffy dog-like outfit with the note "Free to good home".

At least it was at a place people rarely knew her.

[ Peter's not an idiot. A lot of people think he is, of course--and honestly? Peter could give two shits. What bothers him is a rumour. Just a little whisper in the brotherhood. Someone was unhappy. Someone wanted to leave.

He's more pissed than sad that it's John. And that's pretty much what fuels it--that it's John. John Allerdyce. He along with Erik were the ones that convinced him to move. To fight for who he is. Mutant and proud, fuck hiding. Fuck humans.

He can wait. He's capable of waiting, at least, but Peter practically bursts with energy the moment John takes a shower. He grabs the gauntlet, first--it's a lot stupider looking than the lighter, at least that was pretty, in his opinion--and waits. And waits and waits. He's capable, yes, but it doesn't mean he likes to.

Three Jim Croce songs later (Actually halfway through Time in a Bottle) that John gets out and Quicksilver moves right in front of him. It's almost mirroring the lighter-fights, except Peter isn't smiling. ]

[She has been promised chocolate, for saving the world, and by god she is going to get it. Post Pitfall, Raleigh settles into an anything you want, Mako routine that Mako finds endearing and warming to the cockles of her heart, but that ultimately needs to be laid to rest; being on a pedestal is tiring, yes, but useful. To be honest, to be absolutely honest, this serves as an opportunity for Mako to interact with the (forcibly) retired co-pilot of her current co-pilot without his presence, and she knows that Raleigh probably knows it.

Even after she sends him the picture of a tied up Yancy and a note of Pay your debt or your brother gets it.

The truth is, she has no intention of hurting Yancy, respects him too much for that. And he's been through enough. But this silly behaviour - they've all been through so much, and this is...it just feels necessary. So she does the silly thing, and even ties a little bow with the string, before taking a seat on the bed beside him and turning the TV on.]

Getting him in the cage involved a pretty brutal fight, and they don't want their captive to die...if such a thing is even possible, but what does she know?...so they called up their own little miracle worker to tend to his injuries.]

[She steps into the room, the door sealing and locking behind her. She's nervous about this, having never met Loki before. But she heard he pulled out some man's eye, so she's understandably leery. Still, they said they'd be watching her closely and would intervene if anything went wrong.]

At first they'd wanted him over on their side of the war, but then it became more of a fact that he needed to be caught and kept out of the way, for he held no loyalty to anyone or anything, and they could find no record of him anywhere, which made them believe that perhaps he was a secret weapon cooked up by the government released to kill mutants, for there was a long line of bodies behind him to add to it all, though the details were lost. Xavier and his team had been after him for months but the Brotherhood got to him first.

He was a new mutant, fast, powerful, and it had taken a long time for the Brotherhood to finally catch and hold him. And when they did, he nearly killed Magento, who had to drive several stakes of rebar into him to hold him back and injure him enough to incapacitate the eight foot creature. Within a couple days though, he'd healed over so well there wasn't a scar upon his charcoal skin.

The cell they'd built for him was fifteen foot concrete, reinforced with rebar and bits of metal to ensure if he needed to be incapacitated again, Magneto could without difficulty. He never seemed to sleep and he refused any meal brought to him.

One day as they were observing him through the small one-way glass, Magneto saw the creature-who called himself Ergo Proxy-looking at a worn photo he must have had had hidden on his cloak.

A look back at the security camera to see what the photo was revealed it to be a young woman. And so decided Mystique should disguise herself as the woman and go in to finally perhaps get some answers.
