THE CAPTIVITY MEME



You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.

Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.


1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.

2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9. The second character is holding the first character captive now.

3. ???

4. Profit!



Scenarios


1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.


2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.

3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.

4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.

5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.

6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.

7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're our property, and you decide their fate.

8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.

9. Choose a scenario, or combine several.

[ What is a little bondage between friends. Hell, he's pretty sure that Crystal can break out of this much and he's also confident that he's asked more times than he could count about the okayness here. Besides, how else was her going to see her looking this cute?! ... Okay no that's beside the point. The point here is that Masaomi has found himself fuzzy blue handcuffs and taken this moment to handcuff both of Crystal's legs together.

This was done so that he might have her just a little bit restrained while they're watching home movies. She probably lost a bet - but movies are actually things taken with a camera phone of numerous people at a party the other night and the hope here is that it can explain - because his memory is faulty and her own doesn't seem to be much better - another bit of bondage. Namely, why the two of them woke up in the same bed earlier that morning with that same pair of handcuffs holding their hands together. At least they managed to get them apart!

He doesn't want his TV destroyed. :T

[ It has been a year, perhaps, and the scars on Mavros's back have now faded to thin silvery stripes, but time is an illusion to one such as him, and pain eternal. He remembers the screams of Kushiel's child as he would remember an ageless piece of music. Remembers the anguish in his dark eyes, and yearning, and love, and the tears that marked his cheeks as blood marked his skin when he knelt to Lucifer's hand. That pain, that beauty had cost him very deeply, but he remembers it, and savors.

And seeks him again, a length of time later, a moment or a year. It is not Mavros, truly, that he wants, but there is love for him: he is beautiful, as mortals are. Flawed and proud. Possessed of the capability to be broken and healed.

He finds him easily, for having blooded and marked him once, he has made Mavros in some part his own. The woods are ancient and dark, and only the blaze of torches stands brave against shadows to light the way to the lodge, but the fire pales to the radiance of white wings arched more enormous than ever above the tall golden figure who walks barefoot across wild ground, the hem of a diaphanous robe brushing the soil as those wings trail behind him like the train of a gown. Beyond the soft luminescence cast by the ivory feathers, the shadows of the trees darken all the more. Before the light of the Morningstar the night is black indeed.

The doors of the lodge would open eager before him if he willed it, but he stops before them like a visitor come seeking refuge in a stranger's home, wings fanned politely at his back. He is a guest here, after all. And Mavros will know: will feel his presence, and come to him. ]

Captain Jack Harkness | Doctor Who/Torchwood | Open

[It's not the first time the Master has been imprisoned, for lack of a better word. It might not even be the last time, given that people always do have something of a tendency to disapprove of his schemes.

(If they'd only agree to help him, things would be much easy in the long run, but people are so distressingly moral, most of the time.)

This latest scheme has been something a little more longer run. For once he hasn't wanted to catch the Doctor's attention any more than he needs to. Moreover, with the Doctor busy cleaning up the... aftermath of the war he'd very nearly started he'd figured that he might just have a little time to work. Even the timezone had been very specifically chosen to avoid running into the Doctor.

(The Doctor might not be exiled any longer, but it hasn't escaped the Master's notice that he still has a fondness of sorts for that particular time and place.)

He'd planned for UNIT, of course. The point had been to pass relatively unnoticed for the earliest parts of his plan. He hadn't planned on catching the notice of Torchwood. Hadn't realized that even a TARDIS as well-hidden as his would eventually set of alarm bells, much less the rest of the technology he's brought with him, and between that and the fact that even trying to stay unnoticed is something that he can't manage for too long, he supposes it's not a great surprise. Frustrating, yes, but only in as much as it ever is.

(He's got spotless credentials. Name, the sort of history that isn't interesting enough to warrant a second look, and all the attendant bits and pieces that go with them. All forged, of course, or invented, but they're there even if there's very little denying that he's some sort of alien. And not one inclined to be nice, if the string of people who have turned up hypnotized - and unable to remember what, if anything they'd been sent for - are any indicator.)

Still, he seems to be perfectly content to wait wherever it is that Torchwood have put him, for the time being. He might not know how they do business but he's not entirely unarmed. Nor is he unfamiliar with waiting until the correct moment should show itself. He is, after all, hardly in any sort of hurry.]

Xanxus walked into the rather posh room Hook was being kept in, dressed in his usual outfit, though his jacket had been discarded for the moment to leave him in just his button up white shirt, the feathers i his hair a bloody red today. Normally he might have left the seeing of a captive to one of his subordinates (Bel would have enjoyed that), but Hook was going for a high price, wanted in several lands.

Needless to say Xanxus had a bit more interest in this one than others, especially since it had taken a mansion full of money to even make him consider a capture job. His group's speciality, after all, was killing, the assassination experts of the Vongola - the Varia.

He settled onto a couch about five feet from where Hook had been tied to a chair set in the center of the room, well away from anything he might use to help himself escape, not that Xanxus thought he could since Fran had set the bindings - the group's Mist user, illusionist and magician. But you never knew, did you?

[It's probably one of the few times (the first?) that he's disobeyed Erwin's instructions so egregiously. In fact, he's become so comfortable with trusting Erwin blindly that he'd been right on the edge of complying the way he always does.

Up until about five minutes ago.

Levi doesn't consider himself to be especially impulsive. Quick thinking in tense situations isn't quite the same as spontaneously deciding to spring Erwin from prison hours ahead of his execution. Acting on emotion has always been something he's tried to avoid, because he's seen far too many people make wrong (fatal) decisions because of it. He's trained himself to determine the difference between his gut instinct and a momentary emotional lapse.

This time, he can still recognize the difference, but he's choosing to ignore it.

His gut tells him he'll probably pay for it later, with worse consequences.

He's organized his team with careful consideration and precision, making sure that the entrance and escape routes are covered, that no one will see them.

Silent as a shadow, Levi slips into the spartan room that has served as Erwin's cell for what is supposed to be the last night of his life. The lock had proven to be pitifully easy to bypass, even for him. Gray eyes take a moment to adjust to the dim light as he approaches Erwin's figure on the bed.

It's been weeks since he last saw him. Somehow in that time he'd lost the image of Erwin's reality in his mind - he hadn't forgotten that he'd lost his arm, but seeing it again is more startling than it should be.

He stops a couple of paces from the bed.]

Get up. We're going.

[Erwin isn't exactly surprised to see Levi. There's nothing like surprise in his expression or on his bearing as he looks up, finding the familiar shape of Levi in the darkness. He had suspected something like this might happen, but he hadn't expected it to happen precisely in this moment or in this way--his ideas of what's to come aren't that exact. He has inklings, suppositions.

He sits up, sliding his legs over so that he's positioned neatly on the edge of the bed. What remains of his arm still aches, but he's learned to move without it, having found a new center of balance. Not that that does him much good, in here.

He isn't angry or displeased or even sad, his features indicating nothing but blankness and a shadow of weariness. It is good to see Levi again, he thinks, but he doesn't smile or say anything to that effect. It's good to see him, but he shouldn't be here. He should be following his orders. He's endangering himself unnecessarily.]

No, Levi. We're not going anywhere. You are.

[Everything was supposed to be going well. Things had turned jn her favor. She had Saber, Tohsaka and that other child were dealt with, and the rest of the competition seemed to boil down to just Berserker. And then he decided to come, the golden Servant. While she had been claiming Saber and imprisoning her, Gilgamesh took it upon himself to slay Assassin and her own master.

So much sadness struck her. She didn't care about winning when she saw her master and lover struck down. She just wanted him to live, and he couldn't. And yet as that arrogant Servant kept talking, shaky couldn't take it anymore. Even if she was weaker, her ties to this world practically severed, she still had every intent on killing him.

And she did so. She burned up so much energy in her rage, sacrificed most of the temple as a weak shield, and yet she was the one to watch Gilgamesh fade away when she pierced his heart. She didn't know where the master was, but she didn't care anymore. They were probably taken care of by this point. But she didn't want to take any chances.

She needed Saber now more than ever.

Walking instead of teleporting downstairs, she pulls out each shard of powerful steel that managed to hit her. So close. Had he not underestimated her, the result would be different. Had she tried to take control of Saber, maybe things would have changed.

She glared at Saber, blood trailing down her mouth.]

He was trapped in the past after an ill-fated accident with his own time machine. He was trapped in the past so distant there was no human life. He survived because that is what he does but he was not happy. He had taken to giving the ugliest wildlife names after the System Lords. Osiris was a lumpy lizard creature that he never could figure out the gender of. Anubis was the foulest smelling animal that ate rotting flesh.

Oh, yes. He hated it here. So many nights he sat by a fire and contemplated ending his life before he started naming the rocks.

One strange day, he saw footprints. Human footprints. At first he thought he lost his mind completely but as he followed them it became more and more apparent they were real.

He discovered a hole in time, just in time to see a woman race through it. Naturally, he followed, albeit cautiously. His stealth skills had greatly improved since he was stranded. It was easy enough to follow the woman once on the other side. What was hard was not getting distracted by city. Earth. Modern day Earth. He would've cried if he could remember how. Task at hand. Follow the woman.

The most interesting scene unfolds after following her to an apartment. He overhears a very intriguing argument between her and a man. Oh, she's another man's wife, lovely. Yes, that does sound like they're having sex in there. It hits him then just how long its been for himself. Again, he has to force himself to stay focused. This could be his key back into the world. Into the galaxy.

He waits until the woman has left to break into the apartment then wait, listening for the man. He silently hopes he will be a similar size. How he misses real clothing.
