The Captivity Meme

You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.
Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.
1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.
2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9. The second character is holding the first character captive now.
3. ???
4. Profit!
Scenarios
1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.
2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.
3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.
4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.
5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.
6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.
7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're our property, and you decide their fate.
8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.
9. Choose a scenario, or combine several.

We're alone?
[It hurts so much to resist a transformation. He doesn't want to do it any more than he has to.]
no subject
But there's nothing she can do. So, she just reassures,]
We are.

[Not the least bit because he's taking off the lab coat to save a scrap of clothing, and there's nothing underneath. The Hulk will be going commando this time.
He shrugs off the lab coat, curling on the ground, gritting his teeth as sweat streaked his skin and his muscles contorted. It is the most unnatural thing in the world, for the body to try to change into something it isn't. His muscles are ripping themselves apart to be rebuilt. His tendons are thickening. His bones are building on themselves and twisting.
Every transformation, he's always in so much pain that he wants to throw up, but his organs refuse to respond to anything but the shifting around them.]
lol
So, she just swallows down her concern and horror and watches with a frown, ready to act -- but curious to see exactly how the green guy will react to her, after what happened before.
She wonders if the Hulk feels as much pain as it looks like Bruce is feeling right now. Earlier, those screams and the smashing -- she'd imagined they were blind, idiotic, unfathomable fury. Thinking back, there obviously must've been more to them. Pain. Fear?
But what about other times? When there's not a pike of painful mind-control nanotech lodged into his head? What's motivating him to destruction then? ]
Re: lol
Bruce's head snapped back with a scream that turned into an earth-shaking roar, his skin turning green, his muscles finally bulging out, and then he's the Hulk, still kneeling and still roaring as he grasps the tree in front of him blindly and rips it from its roots, tossing it into the sky without anything in particular to aim at. Hopefully, it wouldn't end up crushing a hapless hiker.
And then the Hulk stumbles to his feet, arching his back and roaring at the sky as he beat his chest, not noticing Clare just yet.]

She breathes a little sigh, says quietly, ]
Hi.
no subject
He goes down to all fours, his face still twisted in fury (because that was how any emotion seemed to translate for him), and pounded his fist into the ground. It seems like he could be trying to intimidate her, but if he were, he'd just smack her around. He's hoping she will help him again, but he needs an outlet for his rage, so he digs his fingers into the ground and uproots the trees around them while he stays still otherwise and waits.]
no subject
She tries to reassure, keeps her voice light, like she's talking to an animal or a small child. If he doesn't understand what she's saying, maybe he'll get the gist from her tone. ]
Hey, that's good. Okay. Stay there. I'm gonna come a little closer, now.
[She walks closer, half-expecting him to lash out. It's obvious it's difficult for him to keep still right now -- those giant muscles and tendons practically quivering with repressed energy. She looks him in the eye.]
This is gonna hurt. I'm sorry. But it'll be really quick.
[ Luckily, she's got some leashed energy of her own. She doesn't waste any more time with pretensions toward human speeds, instead she just blurs to behind him, focuses on the back of his skull and cuts that thing out -- every last nanobot.
Then she reappears in front of him, standing a little farther back than she was before, holding the piece of tech in a hand behind her back. Eyes him warily. ]
no subject
He rears back, holding his head and roaring in pain, and he doesn't lash out as her so much as everything around him. He rips trees from their mooring and throws them. He stamps his feet and cracks the earth. He tears at the foliage. He roars and shouts, and if she gets caught in the crossfire, he won't notice.
But then, in the cradle of his destruction, all the pain fades and he stops, chest heaving, generally angry at everything even though the one living creature nearby has proven to be kind.
He doesn't know what he's angry at.
He picks up a tree and throws it as far as he can, roaring into the sky.]
no subject
But, darn it. This guy and the trees. She stays still during his tantrum, resisting her urge to intercept the projectiles and to shout at him to please stop. Branches and rocks and spare roots fly her way, but she bats them aside with her free hand. Plenty of leaves and twigs fly into her hair, though. Dirt flies up into her face.
She squints at him, blinking it out of her eyelashes. And feels an undeniable urge to comfort him. Part of that pain he experienced just now was her fault, and she hates that.
She doesn't understand the Hulk, but she's really, really sorry this has happened. To Bruce -- and to him. Though she wonders if he can even hear her over his heavy breathing, she keeps her tone gentle. ]
It's okay. It's over, now.
no subject
He settles on all fours, then lies on his side, eyeing her carefully. He has stopped breaking things, because he remembers another woman who treated him kindly and tried to make pain to away. He remembered her, and he wonders if this woman is the same.
He reaches out and makes a concentrated effort to gently pat the woman's head. Perhaps it would still be a little rough, but he's trying. He is not angry at her. He will help her. She made the pain go away again.]
no subject
[ She stares at him bemusedly for a second, then sits, cross-legged, in front of him. The implant is still in her hand, behind her back. She doesn't know if he'd connect this thing to the idea of the pain from before, but she doesn't want to risk it.
She'd rather see if Bruce recognizes the tech.
With a little smile, ]
I'm Clare.
no subject
Clare.
[He grinds out the name, like he's trying to taste it. Honestly, everything he says sounds like a small earthquake.
Now that he is (relatively) calm, he knows her face. Knows her face from Banner. Banner likes her. Hulk decides he likes her too.
It's hard to tell, though. His neutral face is still mostly a glare, but he bends one massive arm and rests it next to her, curled around her area like a giant, fleshy, green fence. It's his way of making it clear he's protecting her. No matter how well she could pin him before, she still looks puny and weak. The Hulk is no stranger to protecting puny things on occasion.]
no subject
Now, she's hanging out with a giant, naked green man in the middle of the forest, in the middle of the night, and she's clutching a self-repairing mind control implant in her hand. She wonders if she jinxed herself, by complaining, before.
Needless to say, her ideas about the Hulk are changing, very quickly. It's still difficult to think about the things he's done, but more and more she's wondering about his motives and feelings.
She looks at his arm. And then, slowly, she leans against it. ]
Do you feel better, now?
no subject
But he's angry. He's always angry. He lets out another irritated snort of air, still sounding like a massive bull, and starts to scratch the bark off of the closest tree with his free hand.
Usually, this is the point when Banner comes out, but Hulk doesn't want Banner to come back out. Hulk wouldn't be out if there weren't something wrong, and Banner is terrible at dealing with wrong stuff, so Hulk will deal with it when he figures out what it is.
If he stays around that long.]
no subject
Good. I'm glad.
[ She crosses her legs at the ankles and relaxes a little, deciding just to sit with him, for now, if he'll stay still. To feel him out. She's never seen the Hulk this receptive before. And she doesn't know how much he understands, but she talks to him, just the same. ]
I think you and I got off on the wrong foot, there at first. I'm just here to help. To help make sure you don't get hurt. And to make sure no one else gets hurt, either. Nobody likes to get hurt, and I don't particularly like watching people get hurt. So, if you and me could work together to make sure no one gets hurt, that would be just awesome.
What do you think?
no subject
He gives a non-committal grunt and keeps scratching at the bark, leaving deep grooves in the flesh of the wood.]
no subject
So, she just pats his massive arm. ]
Okay ...
Good talk.
no subject
It's nice to not be in pain and around lots of loud noises. He doesn't want to be puny Banner again.]
no subject
And she's thinking that she kind of wishes he could stick around a little while, too. But she notices the changes. She can see that Bruce is coming back. ]
Maybe we can talk more, next time, big guy. Thanks for being nice.
no subject
When he opens his eyes again, they're brown, and he's Bruce Banner, naked in the dewy grass and absolutely exhausted.]
Remind me to never transform twice in one day again.
[Everything is awful and he might just pass out in the grass.]
no subject
But she's pretty quick to start glancing around. Maybe that lab coat is still around here and relatively intact. ]
There's not an implant in your head, anymore, if that makes you feel any better?
no subject
[The coat is where he left it. While she's finding it, he's just going to pass out on the grass. He will be ravenously hungry when he wakes up.]
no subject
It was amazing, Bruce. I think I ... made a friend, or something. I had no idea the big guy co- ...
[ That's cut off when she turns and sees him lying unconscious on the grass. She presses her lips and walks over to him, kneels next to him. Quietly,]
Ah, Bruce?
no subject
Bodies are not meant to turn into hulking monsters and break down buildings and trees. He will be unconscious for a while.]
