THE CAPTIVITY MEME



You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.

Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.


1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.

2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9. The second character is holding the first character captive now.

Scenarios


1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.


2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.

3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.

4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.

5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.

6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.

7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're our property, and you decide their fate.

8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.

Derek jerks on the chain that hooks him to the wall, narrowing his eyes on the human. Was he really asking a question like that?! He slams his head back hard enough to bang on the wall. Something that drove his owner's dad crazy. Not that he cared what drove the sheriff crazy and what didn't.

"I don't come back because I want to," he growls out. "But because I have to. I like living. Policy is if I don't return then I'll be put down. And why would I like you? When you chain me to a wall." Only good thing is that the chain wasn't silver. But it was some weird type of material that kept the wolves from escaping and breaking the chains.

"My dad is the one making me chain you up. I wouldn't if it were up to me." He said, staring up at the ceiling. He pushed his hand through his hair, banging his head back against the pillow and closing his eyes. He thought for a long moment before getting up and resolutely crossing the room to where Derek sat.

He knelt, unlocking the collar around his neck and letting the chain fall to the floor before turning and walking back to the bed, sitting down facing away from him. "You won't be put down if I tell you to leave."

He runs a hand along his throat the moment that the collar is taken off. However, he can't help but laugh when Stiles tells him that he wouldn't be put down. "You really don't read the fine print in those manuals do you?" There's a hint of amusement there as he leans back against the wall, one knee pulled up to his chest.

"I've read the manual. It might not be a common law, but its something I've researched. If an owner willingly releases their pet then that pet is free to go....and the owner willingly gives up their right to own a pet." He said the last part quietly before moving over to his computer to pull up the website that cited the law he was talking about. The laugh has him looking at Derek for a moment, wishing that he could actually draw that out of him, but that would never happen.

"I don't care what your little computer says. I've seen what happens to pets whose owners let them go. I've seen them murdered. Put down like a damn dog. And I don't care what the hell I am, but I will rip someone apart before I let them do that to me," he growls. "I've seen it happen enough to my family. Only two of them even exist anymore because of that stupid law. Because people don't read the fine print. They don't tell you that they send someone out and that's why you never hear of that pet again."

He winced, sitting there for a minute before standing up and throwing the manual at him. "Fine! Stay here then I don't care! I never did anything to you except care about you from the fucking second I knew you were coming and mine! I don't know what I did wrong or...or where I fucked up, but I didn't kill your family either! So fuck you!" He yelled before turning away from the werewolf, trying his best not to start shedding tears.

The wolf hadn't exactly expected the manual to be thrown at him. He's been around humans before and they never acted like this. Even when they did find out the damn truth about what the hell happened to pets when they were released. He doesn't remember how, but there was a way to do so. Setting the manual aside he moves closer to where Stiles was. Though he doesn't touch him because he knows better. Especially when he remembers John's threat about touching his son. "No one said you killed my family. My mother actually liked your family. Liked her owner. Your mother."

"Then why do you hate me?" He asked, glancing at him before looking away quickly. His eyes stung so he knew they were glassy from unshed tears and he wasn't about to let the werewolf see that. "I don't remember your mom very well."

"If I hated you then you'd be dead and I'd of been put down," he states with an annoyed growl. "Just because I don't accept this doesn't mean I hate you. I just don't want a bullet put through my head."

"Could have fooled me." He said, shrugging a shoulder before getting up. "I'm telling dad that I'm not chaining you up anymore. Technically he can't tell me what to do with you anyways. I'm your owner so its my choice and if he doesn't like it...well, oh well. He can't legally do anything to you." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Just stay in my room though."

"He can legally put a bullet in my head like he's threatened to do if I touch you," he growls out. "Until you're 18 at any rate. Then he can't say shit. You could talk to him though." Yeah, oops. He's pretty sure he wasn't meant to tell Stiles that part about John threatening to shoot him if he touched his son. Hell, Derek's not even sure what happened to his own mother. Especially since the ownership would've gone to next of kin in the after math of Claudia's death. Next of kin at the time would've been John.

Stiles just stared for a moment before his eyes narrowed. "No the hell he can't!" He snapped, turning out of the bedroom and heading downstairs. "DAD!" He yelled, storming into the living room. "You threatened Derek! What the hell is your problem!? He is MY pet, not yours! You don't get to tell him he can't touch me or anything!"

Derek cringed slightly when he heard Stiles yelling at his dad. That wasn't what the wolf wanted tonight. Screaming matches were something his uncle did. Not the Stilinskis. Though really... he's pretty sure that John's none too happy with him right now either. So yeah... he wasn't so much as moving. No, he was going to stay put so he didn't got shot. Ten times over.

And a shouting match there was. Stiles and John yelled at one another for a good half hour before finally it got quiet again. About fifteen minutes later Stiles marched back upstairs and leaned in his bedroom doorway. "You can move around the house freely, but you can't leave the house without me...unless its the full moon." He said, shutting his bedroom door. "He apologized too...he's afraid you're going to hurt me because of what happened to your mom."

The silence throws him for a bit until Stiles comes back in the room. Though he cants his head slightly even as that bedroom door is shut. "I don't even know what happened to my mom. I just know that she loved your mother. And then was left to your dad when your mom passed. Other than that I don't know what happened to her."

"He released her." Was all he said before sitting down in his desk chair, not looking at Derek. "I didn't remember, but he released her. He didn't know she'd be hunted down until after it was too late. He thought mom would have wanted her to be free."

That gets a bit of a frown out of him, "So there's only three of us left then." Of course there was only three of them left. Why would there be anymore?

"I'm sorry. I didn't know...I.." He sighed, knowing there really wasn't anything he could say to help. "That's why he threatened you. He was afraid you knew about your mom and would hurt me because of it."

"Well... I didn't know about my mother. You just told me about her," he says with a shake of his head. "But I'm not going to hurt you. I would never hurt you."

"You wouldn't? Not out of any sort of fondness, that much is obvious." He said, shrugging a shoulder and sighing. "Well look, anyways, I'm not gonna release you but you pretty much have free reign. Just no leaving without me."

"Fondness isn't really something I've had a chance to have. Now is it?" Derek shoots back. "Not with being cooped up and locked up." Though it was a relief to hear that he wasn't going to be released. It meant that he wouldn't be hunted down like a damn dog. "Afraid something might happen if I leave without you? Not like I'd die. I've got my tags. Or rather you've got them."

"Its not like I haven't tried! Yeah you were chained up, but dad told me I had to and at the time I listened. I still treated you well. At least I didn't do like some people and lock you up on the full moon instead of letting you run free." He said, sighing and tilting his head. "And I just...I'm not worried you'll run away or anything...I'd just feel more comfortable, but if you want to go out...you can."

"And you always do what your dad tells you to do?" He questions and shakes his head. Though Stiles had a bit of a point. He could've been locked up on the full moon. "So why don't we start over?"

"Well...I did, but I'm not going to now." He said firmly, looking at him before smiling a bit and nodding. "I'd like that."

"Somehow I'm not sure on that one," he says with a bit of a chuckle. Stiles had a penchant for obeying his dad, after all. "Good. Then we'll start with names, shall we? Hello, I'm Derek Hale and I'm a werewolf." So he was making it into a little game too, so what.
