The Captivity Meme

You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.
Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.
1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.
2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9. The second character is holding the first character captive now.
3. ???
4. Profit!
Scenarios
1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.
2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.
3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.
4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.
5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.
6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.
7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're our property, and you decide their fate.
8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.
9. Choose a scenario, or combine several.

Last chance, Alucard. He's not going to take this stalling for much longer.

"The Agency has far more to offer than such a trinket."
And while he can't speak for the Agency, but appealing to greed is the only thing he can think of to buy more time. Because despite his outwards calm, his heartbeat is quickening; if Elijah is the sort to pick up on body language, he'll note the tensing muscles of someone or something preparing to take some sort of action.
He's faster. Stronger. Physically, he outmatches me.
So he'll have to rely on the nonphysical if this gambit doesn't work.
no subject
"I have no interest in anything else your agency has to offer. And I said no games. Are you going to tell me or not?"
no subject
Arguably, those back at the Agency would understand if he surrendered here, and consider this to only mean they'd have to send someone (or a group thereof) to retrieve the ring. But for Alucard to consider such anything but a last-ditch resort is unthinkable.
no subject
"I'll take that as a no." His voice remains soft, even, in contrast to the other vampire. It's the first real open defiance he's seen. "Very well. I'll give you a few days to change your mind. Have a good night."
With that, he turns to leave. His intention is to leave Alucard alone and trapped in the cave. Starving him would be a bonus.
no subject
He watches Elijah go, eyes narrowing as he leaves- but there's no effort made to stop him. It may not have been the stall he wanted, but it will have to do for now.
Only once he can no longer feel the man at the edge of his senses will he turn, and redouble his efforts to investigate the cave. Any sort of hole, no matter its size or position, that could be possibly used for escape- and if not that, something useful. Water being a high priority, or even some sort of animal.
If all else fails, well...
The barrier may stop him from escaping, but hopefully not his magic. He normally uses witchcraft for more...violent situations, but it's his goal to try and get some sort of message to his allies. It will at least keep him from focused on what he can do, and keep him from growing too frustrated with what he can't.

Elijah gives it a few days, as promised. That's not to say he leaves the cave unguarded: someone will be watching out of sight twenty four hours a day.
When he returns, Elijah isn't alone. There's a woman with him, a woman with dark hair wearing a long flowing dress. He stops outside the barrier, the woman standing at his shoulder, and his eyes scan the cave, looking for his prisoner.
Trying to work in some of that lore I mentioned; please let me know if any of this breaks things
The end result is his hair bleaching to white, and his eyes taking on a golden hue.
Not that he flaunts this- the watcher will also notice him preferring to spend his time as deep in the cave as he can get, where he's managed if not /comfort/ than at least a place to work. He does sleep, though in patches of a few hours at a time; he does make use of what collections of water he can find [saving it for drinking, and only using it to clean himself if he rationalizes there being enough], and rather than eat the rats, he's willing to outright feed. But only at certain times.
What's most interesting may be the fact that there's more change than just to his eyes or hair. Through both blood and what's clearly some sort of magic, Alucard full-out transforms more than once, testing the limits of his confines; either in to a man-sized bat or dissolving in to nothing so much as mist. Both are for less than half a minute at a time, and they do take their toll upon him; each time is immediately before or after a feeding. Each time, he seems equally frustrated, impressed, and outright curious, studying the obstacle in his way before trying something else.
He stays busy, trying both to escape and what appears to be making contact with someone on the outside. It's not often that something's able to counter the particular curses [blessings?] upon his bloodline, and he's ill-used to such. But while his father may be the source of such power...even he was turned by someone.
Elijah's return happens to occur one of his periods of rest; the Original's approach, however, awakens him. By the time Elijah reaches the mouth of the cave Alucard has gotten to his feet, and, more out of habit than any true arrogance, is attempting to make himself look somewhat presentable.
The jacket's a lost cause, though. He's been using it as a pillow, and some kind of magic will be needed to smooth out its wrinkles.
no subject
"He's been using magic."
"So I see," Elijah replies. "It's true, then. You're half-witch." That's rare, almost unheard of. But he's heard the report from the watcher about what Alucard has been doing with his free time. The verdict is not a surprise. "So, are you ready to leave?"
no subject
He looks back at Elijah.
"If you were telling the truth in that all you want is the ring, then, yes."
Subtle challenge; not at Elijah himself but at his honor, or what passes for such. Alucard's had some time to consider his methods, here, and now's the time to put those plans to the test.
no subject
"Done."
All he wants from Alucard is the ring. That much is true. Of course, what he's planning to do with it is something else entirely, but that doesn't affect Alucard and therefore from Elijah's point of view it's not relevant.
no subject
Alucard doesn't bet on chances. Not in general, and certainly not with this item.
"Then grant me a week. That should be enough time to extract it, and speed it to a location of your choosing. Or," he adds, gaze flickering towards the woman once more, "to an ally."
no subject
"I do not require your assistance in retrieving the item. Only its location."
This he considers reasonable. After all, it's much less work on Alucard's part to tell him where the ring is rather than fetching it for him. He'd rather not involve the other vampire any more than that.
no subject
He had hoped, but certainly had understood it could be dismissed. One more try.
"I am not suggesting you need my help. I am offering my full cooperation and parole to make this go as smoothly as possible." A beat, and then he lets out a slow breath.
Then he lowers his head, spreading his hands in a sort of half-bow. Distinctly different from his straight-spined, practically-at-ease posture when they were first face-to-face those few days ago.
"I...humbly...ask that you consider letting me ease your way. You may not need it, but there are obstacles I can remove for you if you would let me."
It sounds like the other vampire wants to be involved, period.
no subject
"Very well. I'll give you a week. But if you run, betray me or otherwise fail in your task, I will kill you. Understood?"
The witch at his side steps forward, ready to remove the magical barrier. She won't do it just yet. Alucard needs to agree to the deal first.
no subject
Not that Elijah would know what such an oath means to him, but the steel in Alucard's voice suggests it is not one he gives lightly. He holds the position for a few moments more, then slowly rises.
"Here?"
no subject
He steps back, gesturing for Alucard to leave the cave. "The barrier has been lifted. Now, why don't we discuss how this arrangement is going to work?"
It's a show of faith on Elijah's part. He expects Alucard to be more forthcoming.
no subject
"As promised, I can deliver it to anywhere you wish." There is the briefest of pauses. "I would like a way to contact you, as well, or to contact someone who can get a message to you."
He's not expecting something to go wrong- and quite frankly, he wouldn't put it past Elijah to consider it betrayal if there is a delay. But if there's a complication, it would be best to notify him of such as quickly as possible.
Or his witch, if there's an arrangement between the two other than containment.
no subject
Just to be clear, telling anyone else what he's up to would also count as a betrayal. That's one promise Elijah will deliver on.
no subject
Not his life he's worried about. Their lives, since they're already so frail.
"Will Miss Tamara be accompanying me?" He seems indifferent to the idea, but better to understand now than later.
no subject
"If I'm needed," she replies. "Am I needed? Who are we going up against?"
Alucard may be half-witch, but Elijah's guess is that Tamara has more power than he does, being a full-blooded witch. So, she may come in useful.
no subject
"Not necessarily," he answers Tamara. "They should be able to remove the protections, but they're somewhat time-sensitive even if done correctly. If all goes well, it could be done in four days. I asked for a week is in case something goes wrong."
Such as suspicions, but his sheer position in the Agency should allay those. Should.
"If you come, I can explain you as a partner in this project; otherwise, I'll contact you once I have it in my possession."
no subject
He says no more, but she'll know what to do. Keep tabs on Alucard and report back. Incapacitate him if he tries to betray them. She's competent; he trusts her to do this.
Before they go, however, he turns back to Alucard. "One last thing. Who are 'they'?"
It's unfair on Tamara to send her to face an unknown enemy. And Elijah wants to know more about what they're up against too.
no subject
A beat. And then he makes eye contact with Tamara.
"Only a few understand what I am. They trust me."
Let me handle them remains unspoken. Not a compulsion- his nature seems to have traded off some abilities for others, and that one remains difficult at best for him- but a request.
no subject
He mentally files away the information about the Agency. It could come in useful, and he'll see if he can find out anything else about them too.
For now though, it seems they're ready. Elijah glances between them.
"Contact me if anything goes awry." It's in their best interests to do so, after all. They can't fail. "The clock starts now."
And he leaves, disappearing from the cave entrance with supernatural speed. Alucard has one week. Time is counting down.
