Do you want to be the very best, like no one ever was? Well, what do you even want to be the best at? There's so much to do in the beautiful Pokémon world... where do you begin? Which Pokémon world do you begin in?

A: Core Universe

01. Trainer's Journey: You're roaming the land, seeing the sights, and raising a team of Pokémon! Are you going for the championship? Or are you someone's extremely obnoxious rival? (Or both?)

Marty doesn't actually have much interesting at being "the very best like no one ever was", despite being a Pokemon trainer. He actually wishes to be a rock star and his team are more like friends, but if asked he wouldn't turn down a battle. He also works as an assistant to Professor Emmett Brown, and the Growlithe is actually his, but Marty sometimes takes him out for training.

Well, they were until Vash and Snorlax thought this sunny spot would be the perfect place to nap.

Feel free to think he's part of Team Gun-ho Guns and fight him, a trainer, or just do whatever it may take to get the two lazing about awake and out of the way. While Vash is very much a lover and not a fighter his pokemon are fiercely loyal and won't stand for people picking on their trainer. It may take some convincing or bullying to really get Vash to battle.]

[Upon crossing the threshold into the penultimate room of the Pokémon League, you could be forgiven for thinking the door transported you back a few millennia. Bleached stone pillars line the vast hall before you, reaching up farther than the eye can see; carved into the walls are glyphs of a language long forgotten. The bricks beneath your feet are lined with intricate patterns that glow softly in every color of the rainbow like magical runes channeling some ancient power, and indeed, the atmosphere feels charged with an indefinable sort of energy.

In the very center of this almost mystical chamber lies a throne hewn of the same stone as the ground and walls, and upon that throne sits the last and greatest of this region's Elite Four, second in ability only to the League Champion. Her posture is relaxed, her arms folded and head turned downward – it would be easy to write her off as unconscious were her eyes, cold as ice despite their red hue, not fixed firmly on you.

There's no turning back now, challenger. If you wish to surmount the final obstacle between yourself and the Champion, you must step forth!]

B, 05: Capturing Pokémon is a little farther than Ginko likes. They have their own lives to live in the wild, after all... but roping them in for quick help is still a helpful thing.))

He is more likely to bludgeon an opponent with his Magnezone than call out an actual move. Do not engage.]

[Congratulations, trainer, you've made it through the graveyard-esque gym, battling Hex Maniacs and Channelers left and right. Are you shaking? Scared? Good. Because in a gym that specializes in the ghost type, the leader would be highly disappointed if she didn't hear at least one horrified scream from challengers stepping into the horror-filled gym, where trainers jump out of graves the moment trainers trod on the dirt...sometimes nabbing their ankles, too.

But the brave are rewarded! In a throne-like chair sits the leader, flickering lights from candles casting eerie shadows across her face. She's a pretty young woman, though with the dim light and her gothic attire, she looks more frightening than enchanting. Added to the echoing voices bouncing off the walls, and the sense of being watched not only by the leader herself...well, let's hope you keep your wits about you in battle.]

Horohorohoro...you've made it through my graveyard. Congratulations! But your real test starts here. Don't think I'll be buried so easily, or my cute little friends. Come, test your strength against the Ghost Princess!

[It's been a rough trip through this gym, but the girl that marches her way up to the leader's circle looks nothing less than determined, a brave streak a mile long and a fire crackling in her eyes. She plants her feet, her braid of red hair whipping behind her as she points a finger at the woman seated in the throne.]

I didn't come all this way for nothing! If you want strength, then that's what you're gonna see!!

Raidou Kuzunoha XIV | Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner

[A detective affiliated with the International Police, Raidou solves mysteries that most often deal with legendary Pokémon.

Persian, Arcanine, Espeon, Gyarados, and Florges.]

[Everyone'd heard about the near-disaster in Kalos, of course. How one man had come close to harnessing the power of the legendary pokemon Yveltal and nearly re-created the ancient weapon of destruction from 800 years ago. How, ultimately, it had failed due to the intervention of a trainer who woke up the stone cocoon Yveltal slumbered in, and battled it. Ultimately, the trainer didn't capture the deadly pokemon, but instead let it go, saying that a being that held the power of death shouldn't be controlled by one person.

Then...the legendary pokemon vanished. People came out in droves try and find the bird pokemon, but every trail went cold. Some people wanted Yveltal for their own selfish means. Some wanted it because it was the only pokemon of its kind.

But the international police merely wanted to know where it was. A pokemon that could drain life force and unleash it in such catastrophic ways...well, quite frankly, if they didn't keep tabs on it, yet another disaster could result. What if someone found it-and like lysander, tried to use its power?

So the IP did what they normally do-they contacted Raidou. Asked him to find Yveltal, but quietly and without much fanfare. Since he'd had more experience with legendary pokemon, they said that if Raidou found the legendary pokemon that they would trust his judgement on what to do with it. If it needed to be contained, caught...or just left alone, as many legendaries often secluded themselves away from mankind.

And it's what's led him here, to this cafe in a small, out of the way town in Kalos. Inside, an orange-haired teenager nurses his coffee, with a small shiny Pumpkaboo at his side eating a scone. Just a normal trainer...except when one looks closely, they'd find that he had no pokeballs nor any of the accessories one would expect someone to have in this day and age. And while there had been a movement to 'go back to the roots' of how it used to be, there was always something a little...off about this person.

They'd met before, of course. Ichigo Kurosaki-that was the name he'd given Raidou. A gruff, grumpy man who had told Raidou some tales about Yveltal, claiming that his family had simply passed them down from generation to generation. But...that in itself was odd-Ichigo wasn't Kalosian, or at least didn't look like it. In fact, he looked like he came from Kanto or Johto, and while it could be possible one of his parents or granparents were from there...it was odd. And later, he could be seen absolutely amazed at the railway station, like he'd never seen one before in his life. Definitely strange...

And as Raidou steps into the shop, Ichigo looks up and blinks-then gives a small, controlled smile. The Pumpkaboo sitting on the table with Ichigo also looks up and gives a small cry of welcome.]

Hey, Kuzunoha. What're you doing here?

[[OOC: YEAH OKAY this hit me right in the face and I kinda had to go with it because lol I remembered that pokemon had a habit of looking human and stuff and I thought it'd be interesting.]

[The deceptively youthful-looking second-in-command of the Koopa Troop, which despite committing the grave sin of not calling itself "Team" something is yet another evil gang seeking world domination etc. While the boss is Bowser, the big bad Koopa King, the day-to-day tasks of actually keeping the group together fall to his trusted 'advisor'. Running a criminal syndicate isn't easy, you know.

Is he in the field leading an operation that you feel heroically compelled to foil? Are you a daring do-gooder who decided to infiltrate their underground fortress? Or have you perhaps run into him while he searches the region for strong Trainers to either convert to their cause or, ahem, eliminate before they can become a threat?

Either way, be careful. He's been training these Pokémon since before you were born.]

That is to say, he heard about the shenanigans and it was enough to drag him out of hiding. He forced his way into the base and he's practically steamrolled through the grunts so far, and now he's ready to face Kamek. The Absol's seen before the trainer is, but it's not long before Minato strolls into the room behind it, hands in his pockets and his normally sleepy expression steely and cold.]
