"You can bake?" Great. Thanks, Erica. Now he's picturing her in an apron, and nothing else, with a little flour on her cheek and pulling a cake out of an oven. Then licking the frosting. Oh god, frosting.

There was a touch of skeptical in her glance at his question, "Yeah... I can bake. I can cook too. What just because I went from being the girl no one looked at except to laugh at to the one everyone wants to be lab partners with you think I don't have any practical skills?"

An edge of a smirk came in at the end there, because Stiles knew that she definitely had practical skills.

"No, I just... whoa. I didn't mean that. Just, not a lot of girls I know can cook." This might be because he didn't know a lot of girls. Not well enough to know if they could or couldn't cook, anyway.

His cheeks heated at the smirk, gaze dropping as he tried not to remember just how practical her skills were.

"It's probably a family thing," she replied easily. Sipping on her Coke, she turned to face him more in the booth.

"Besides, how many girls do you know?"

"I know a few." Not well, though. Hey, he knew Scott's mom, but she wasn't really a girl. "Lydia can't cook."

"Have you asked Lydia if she can cook?" Lydia seemed pretty smart from what Erica knew and cooking wasn't as difficult as Stiles was making it out to seem.

"I think she knows practically how, but she wouldn't. Not unless it was something for chemistry." Lydia was more of a settings type of girl; making sure everything looked perfect and was where it should be, not the kind to be in the kitchen slaving over a stove.

Erica lifted her eyebrow, entertained at the thought process that Stiles puts to Lydia and her cooking skills. All the little details of her life that he probably had measured out and accounted for. His own little focal point for his life to orbit around for all those years.

He found himself blushing at the look Erica gave him, moving his attention to bite at the crust he still had left. "I mean, I don't know."

"Mm."

Erica sipped her Coke and watched him with curiosity. "Are we done talking?"

[teenyoda]

"No." He looked back up at her, trying to swallow his mouthful. "We didn't really even start talking." There certainly hadn't been any resolution, and Stiles had no clue where he stood with her.

"We didn't?" She played the innocent act a bit, watching him with a dropped chin and bright eyes.

He gave her an eye roll, moving so that his arm was laying along the back of the booth behind her. "No, we didn't."

Her body shifted, bringing her leg up onto the bench seat they were on, her hand rested to it, as the top of her foot pressed to his knee.

"Okay. I'm listening." She gave him her best 'I'm paying attention to you' look.

Okay so now she was paying attention to him. Great. "I was just thinking that maybe we could, um, hang out a little more. Together." Alone.

She watched him, her head tipping slightly as he spoke, then rising back up when he brought up the word together.

"Like we are now or how we've hung out before?" There might be a touch of a smirk at what she was implying.

He wasn't going to blush. Nope. No blushing. "Um, both, actually." Dammit!

A small smile crept onto Erica's features as she watched him get flustered. "Are you blushing?"

"No, it's hot in here." Wasn't it? She could stop staring now...

Chewing on the end of the straw, she smirked at him. Her hand moving on her own thigh a bit. "Just hanging out," she repeated, because even though it was amusing to watch him squirm, she didn't want him to blame her for things not being clear.

It wasn't an undying confession of love, but he could work with that. It was somewhere to start, anyway. "Just hanging out." He might have a bit of a problem reminding his hormones of that, but he wouldn't overstep his bounds, and not just because she could annihilate him.

Erica shrugged, "Alright. I can do that. You can't mouth off at me about training again, though."

"Hey, I wasn't mouthing you off. I was showing concern." And he'd do it again if he ran into her all covered in blood. He might even take it up with Derek, who should probably have it pointed out to him that he was being a dick.

Her head canted, glancing at him with an unimpressed look. "I told you I could handle it and you kept it up."

"Just because you can handle it doesn't mean you should have to. There's other ways to do it that don't involve getting the shit beat out of you." He'd like to point out Scott as a measuring tool at this point. Little to no alpha help needed.
