what's love got to do with it

You're not together. But you need to make people think you are. Because of reasons.
Maybe you secretly can't stand each other. Maybe you like each other, just not like that. (Or do you?) Maybe this is the only way you'll ever get to be with your crush. Maybe you just need to give off that couple vibe in public, or maybe you're going to be forced to engage in some hot'n'heavy fakeout makeouts. For reasons, okay?
You know the drill. Post, tag, profit.
- Home For The Holidays ⇢ You need to prove to your parents that you do so have a significant other. Just until they're gone.
- No Singles Need Apply ⇢ The place is perfect, but the landlady will only rent it to a nice, respectable couple.
- It's Not Safe For A Woman Alone ⇢ One of you is vulnerable in this big, bad world without a partner to protect you.
- Public Relations ⇢ There's only one way to stop these pesky rumors: start your own.
- Undercover Mission ⇢ They'll never suspect a couple of lovey-dovey honeymooners of... whatever it is you're actually up to.
- Marriage Of Convenience ⇢ It's good for both your families. Or your finances. Or your hetero street cred. Whatever: might as well make the best of it.
- Well That Escalated Quickly ⇢ It's common knowledge that you're together, except you're the last to know. Is it worth correcting people?
- Free Space ⇢ Bring your own
bottlescenario.

"Milan?! And you didn't bring me anything?" Exclaimed Seunwoo, puffing his cheeks out. "Not even a brand name shirt or pair of shoes... Do you even really love me, Harry?" He was definitely playing it up but he was just a little bit sad that he didn't get himself some new Prada or Versace.

There was something quiet and impish in his expression, however, "Although, I did find something you might like." He shifted over so that he could snake a hand into his bag, drawing out a small box, not much larger than a teacup, inside was an Hermès silk scarf in a blue and gold fishscale pattern, along with a gold-tone, fish-shaped slide buckle to keep it in place.
no subject
"It's gorgeous," he murmured, running his fingers along the fabric as he withdrew it from the box in an absolute trance; winding it around his neck, he held it up to his face to indulge in its sinfully soft touch.
no subject
"Thought that would be the right one." He reached over to run the backs of his fingers along the other man's jaw, smile spreading, softening at the edges, "Definitely the right color."
no subject
Opening his eyes, he smiled big and bright at the man across the table, nearly glowing.
no subject
A nod followed, smoothing over the ends of the scarf once the buckle was situated, "And that's a damn shame."
no subject
Whether or not he was wasn't important, anyway.

And that was something that was always going to happen, no matter what, he could pretend at having this normal relationship all he wanted, but he would, inevitably, have to leave again.
But he wasn't going to think about that for now, just grinning outright and lifting a brow, "But I think you could get a little bit used to it in three days." He had at least that, thanks to the cancellation, but if a priority came up he'd have to take it.

His words may hae been poetic, but there was definitely a feeling of barren sadness whenever Harry invariably had to take flight again; for now, though, the moment was just about them and their relationship. Whatever it could be described as, at least. "So you're staying that long? Assuming nothing comes up, that is..."
Twisting their fingers together a little bit more, he hummed in a bit of thought while cooking up ideas in his head of all the things they could get up to.

It hadn't been quite that close, but near enough. It was how he'd been able to just change destinations as he had, though private jets helped with that as well.

His free hand curled itself into the soft fabric of the scarf, continuing to touch it and run fingertips all along the luxurious cloth that felt just wonderful around his neck.

"I would say I could make you dinner, but we both know I burn water." This wasn't strictly true, but he was really only good at making instant, microwaveable foods or things that only needed water added to them, "But name a place and I'll take you there, even if it means dressing up." A smile, "Maybe especially then."
no subject
The mention of burning water had him sighing - yes, he did clearly remember the time Harry managed to somehow light noodles in water on fire - and he shook his head. "I have no idea how you can be such a disaster in the kitchen, love. But why don't you let me handle the cooking and we can just have a quiet night in? Dressing up optional, but you know how good you look in a suit."
no subject
That was something they both liked, as it turned out, so Henry was always happy to oblige.

Tilting his head to the side again, he smiled over at the man who was very happily enjoying the cake.
no subject
He smiled, "But really it's those first three days that are the important ones. That's where all the fun is going to happen."

That much was absolutely true, Harry was an expert at entertaining himself, even if it was via catching up on some sleep. His smile spread, "And I learned a long time ago," once again acting as if they'd been together more than just off and on, "that the best answer to what I'd like to eat is whatever you think I should have."
no subject
Letting his hand return to its position on the table before he'd lifted it, he hummed while tapping his other hand's fingers against his temple. "At the very least, you should let me know what sort of food you're in the mood for. What kind of meat, maybe? Or if you want a vegetarian dish? A little something to work with will help me."
no subject
A thoughtful sound followed, as if actually having to think over what he might like to eat that wasn't the cake he was still taking small forkfuls of, "Meat definitely, probably beef since I haven't been getting enough of that, at least not the good stuff."
no subject
"Want to get out of here? I'm just about finished for the day and you look like you need a good meal." He definitely wasn't feeling like he could stay at work any longer with the way their conversation went; all he really wanted to do was get out of here and get back home with him.

It wasn't a problem if he did, if anything it would be entertaining because they didn't often go anywhere that wasn't an intentional chance to show off, like going to dinner was. Even if he didn't, that was fine too, because that meant more time together uninterrupted, which was the ideal.
