winter is a lingering season
snowfall;
stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios;
② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧ - from krystaliske @ memebells |

It smells great inside, and Matt's glad to be out of the cold. He's looking forward to a hot cup of coffee and talking to Danny without any interruptions or threats of bad guys.
"Have you been here before?"

They're greeted promptly and given menus, though the little waitresses realizes her error quickly and stutters through an offer to read it to Matt instead. Though Danny promises to take care of it and sends her off for a cup of coffee and a pot of breakfast tea.
"Kinda like traveling with out having to, you know?"
no subject
"That authentic, huh?" Matt wouldn't know. Having never traveled much, he just has to go on Danny's word.
no subject
"Maybe we should travel some day." That's a little bit like old Danny, now isn't it? thinking that in the future of 'some day' they'd still be together.
no subject
Danny's statement makes Matt laugh. "I'm not sure how appreciative I can be with traveling. But I'd like that."

"I'd have to sweettalk you out of the Kitchen first."
no subject
"Mm, you haven't told me what's on the menu."
no subject
"Or you could just share mine."
no subject
"What are you eating?" Maybe he sounds suspicious, because Danny's always trying to feed him strange and healthy things. Which Matt is fine with, he likes healthy, but he's a meat and potatoes guy. "You know what? Surprise me."
no subject
"I'll surprise you on dessert." Because dessert with breakfast? Why not?

Once he takes the sugar from Danny, Matt sneaks his hand into Danny's, letting their fingers twine together before Danny can take it away. He stirs his coffee with his other hand.
no subject
"Hey, Matty."
no subject
"Hmm?"

Matt smiles, though he doesn't sound convinced. He takes another drink from his coffee, listening to Danny order and to the other people in the restaurant.
no subject
"You're a better lawyer than that."
no subject
Matt nudges Danny a bit, and, taking a chance, turns to press a fleeting kiss to Danny's cheek.
no subject
"Do you wanna try to move forward?"
no subject
no subject
"It's supposed to snow again, if you want to get snowed in at my place, I guess that'd be ok."
no subject
"I think I could do that. The heat is broken at my apartment again, anyway."

Matt shrugs a shoulder. He doesn't mind. For a place in Hell's Kitchen, it's a good price. "One of my neighbours was saying her son-in-law is going to come have a look at it."
