❄ it's quiet and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme ‧ post with whatever character you want ‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading ‧ ??? ‧ profit snowfall; stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white. stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios; ① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on. ② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧ - from krystaliske @ memebells

That only sounds a little devious, Matty.

"I'm not sure you're really imposing, Matt, it isn't as if we haven't been room mates." Or, you know, lovers... fiance's even. But he's not sure he should say it.

"I know. But now you know I'm a massive asshole."

Danny gets a nudge in return, but Matt gives him a smile. "I'd like that. I promise I'll clean up after myself."

"The biggest. But I still really like you for some reason." He inclines his head, then leans back as the server returns with their food.

"I hope so, I'd hate to have to pay the house keeper extra"

"You already pay her double."

Matt flashes their server a smile, then folds his hands on the table. "Okay. Tell me what everything is so I don't eat something weird."

"She does a good job and looks like Alice from the Brady Bunch." He's pretty sure that's worth more than what a normal house keeper should make.

"I don't think any of it's really weird, it's like a traditional English breakfast...." He picks up his silverware to cut and divide everything up to put on another plate for Matt. "Okay maybe the beans on toast, that's a little weird."

"Maybe I'll skip that."

Just give Matt all the meat. He sets the napkin on his lap, then pauses so he can press his hand to Danny's. "Thank you."

"You should at least try a bite." He pauses as Matt's hand comes to rest against his and he turns his over to brush their fingertips together.

"For breakfast?"

"You know that's not what I mean." Matt lets the touch linger for a moment before he takes his hand back. "For forgiving me when I don't deserve it, and being willing to have me back."

"Oh." And he can't really reassure him, tell him he does deserve it, because sometimes Danny's not sure, but that ache is still fresh.

"I love you, Matty, you'll probably have to try harder than that to get rid of me."

"I love you, too." Matt presses his nose into Danny's cheek for a moment.

But that's enough sapppiness, right? Matt digs into his breakfast, and, yeah, it's pretty great. Life at the moment is pretty great.

He does pile a majority of the delicious meaty bits on to Matt's plate, but part of him sort of worries that his friend isn't eating as much as he probably should be. And not just because he always looks a little pale and tired lately.

Part of the reason he needs to bring him home, because Matt's a little shitty at taking care of himself between work and work.

Matt's not complaining. He has a good appetite, just usually not the energy or the means to sustain it. Eventually though he's full, and apparently Danny wants dessert of all things, so he tries to save some room.

"I can't believe I've never been here before."

[dannyrand]

"I'm not surprised, you never leave the neighborhood." Danny only finds these strange little places because he spends time walking the streets.

And yeah, he totally wants dessert, even if it's still technically breakfast and he orders after the server comes to clear their plates.

"I miss getting to go out with you."

"It's not exactly easy for me to go exploring."

He leans back, an easy smile on his face. Sometimes he thinks about how lucky he is to have Danny. "You can go out with me all the time. All you have to do is ask."

[dannyrand]

"I know, I just... you've been working hard, I don't want to just go and upturn all that, just because all I ever want is your attention." He laughs, more at himself and how ridiculous that must sound. But it's true, he only ever wants to be around Matt. It's probably pretty exhausting for the guy.

"Oh, no, my attractive billionaire boyfriend wants to spend time with me. My life is so difficult," he teases, ducking his head to laugh.

"You can call. And if I'm busy then we can talk and make plans, and I can do my best to not forget about them."

Danny can't help but grin, pleased. "Oh are we boyfriends? I like the sound of that." because he wasn't quite sure. Even if that's what it felt like, he didn't know how and when their lives would fit back into place like it had. Sometimes it felt like he was pushing too hard.

"I'll make sure you don't forget about them."

"Yeah, I just decided it."

Matt takes Danny's hand and presses a kiss to it, grinning when the server arrives with their ridiculous breakfast dessert. "I missed being disgustingly cute in public with you," he says, once they're alone.

"Good decision." It's sticky toffee pudding and it's fucking delicious.

"oh wow we really are disgusting, aren't we?" He laughs, reaching for a spoon with his free hand while Matt takes up his other, dipping it into the warm dessert before offering it to his boyfriend's mouth.

"A little bit, I think."

Matt smiles and takes the offered spoonful, and, yeah, it's pretty delicious. Only Danny would want sweet things for breakfast.

"All this eating is making me tired."

[dannyrand]

"Is that a request to go back to my place for a nap?" His voice can't hide his smile as he gathers up more on the spoon to bring to his own mouth.

"That depends on if I'll have company for it or not." They're both due for a nap, though, honestly. Danny had a late night and Matt just never sleeps. "Or is that too much too soon?"

He only feels a little guilty about drawing things out this long, but maybe they'd moved too fast the first time, and how often did people get second chances?

"I think we're long overdue for naptime."

"Yes, we are." Matt takes another bite of the toffee pudding, but that's about enough for him because it's a lot of sweet so early. He finishes off his coffee instead.

"I promise it will be strictly PG."

[dannyrand]

"Yeah? I guess I should thank you for preserving my virtue." Danny smothers a chuckle against the back of his wrist, leaving the rest of the dessert after the last bite.
