THE LOVE LETTER MEME




It’s such a nice night, you couldn’t resist going out for a bit. As you walk around, you see a letter on the ground. What does it say?


“When the night sky wears the moon as
its pendant, I shall await you
at the dock.”


This is exactly where you are standing! Did someone drop it here, knowing you’d pass by? But who could that be?

1 – Post with your character, who just found the Love Letter.

Earlier in the day, someone else received the exact same letter… But they lost it somehow, and it handed up in your hands! And now, they’re headed to the dock for the rendezvous.

2 – Tag around! As you go to the rendezvous point, you see someone holding the Love Letter you received earlier… So it’s them who sent it? But they think it’s you who sent it. Awkward!

3 – Play out any scenario! Is it someone you know, a total stranger, someone famous?

4 – Don’t hesitate to change the setting or the time of the day!

By Merlin's beard...I like you! And by that I mean that I really like you, and it may not sound truthful but it is. And if you want to leave that's fine, I understand and I'm sorry .

[and he pauses for a while, awkwardly.]

So there you go.

[soundsofdrums]

[He still can't fully get this, alright. Because the Doctor is the boy he's had his attention on their entire lives and he's never noticed before so why now? He's hesitant as he speaks, trying to keep the bitterness out of his tone.]

Is that the same speech you give all the girls you've asked out? Just how many girlfriends have you had at this point, might I ask?

[oncoming]

[he looks down at his feet. To be honest those words hurt like a knife, and it was true. After Rose he couldn't keep one because they all reminded him of her. And they came to him because of what? Popularity?

His brother was right, this was a terrible idea and he shouldn't have done it. The Doctor closes his eyes, trying to find what to say. It was hard.]

You don't get it. They didn't know me. I just...I'm sorry, alright? Terrible idea, I knew it.

[soundsofdrums]

No. No, don't you dare say something like this to me and then apologize. If you're going to say...that, then you stick to it, understood?

[He's silent for a while. As confused and bitter as he is, this is still what he'd always wanted. But now that it's actually happening, he has no idea how to deal with it.]

Would I be left to the wayside as well once you got bored of me, or do you actually... Is this different to you?

[oncoming]

[he didn't know how to deal with it either. He felt it for some time, but he didn't know how to act on it, especially with their strange friendship and all.

He passes his fingers through his hair thinking, just thinking.]

Right, yes, I just don't know! I think so and I don't want to happen again, I haven't felt this in a long time but you're different. You've always been different to me. You're not just some acquaintance, you're so much more important. Not saying that they're not important, they are, but you are more.

[soundsofdrums]

You see, Doctor-- [And it is far, far too awkward to even be saying this. He's hesitant before speaking.] You're not the only one with...really, it kills me to use the term "feelings", but I suppose that's what it is. I've had my eye on you for a long time. A very, very long time, far longer than you'll ever get me to admit. So you'll have to forgive me if I'm a little distrustful of you suddenly deciding you'll feel the same.

[This is so not working out correctly.]

I'm not terribly good at this, it seems.

[oncoming]

Then just. Just give me a chance. Please. I know I'm not as good as a person as people think me to be, and that maybe you could find someone who's better.

[a pause. This was a train wreck]

Give me a chance to prove that I love you, though. Just one if you want.

[soundsofdrums]

[For a little while, he just stared, his mind working through it all. The Doctor just pulled out the L word. This was much more serious than he thought, but not in a bad way.]

...This won't change my urge to shove you down a flight of stairs, you do realize. And I have a tendency to be a bit jealous, so I won't be too happy if you start flirting with someone else.

[oncoming]

[if the Master could take a picture of the Doctor's face for the next 30 seconds as it processed in his mind, it would be one of awe.

And then one of absolute relief. His breath was shaky, but so free of the tension. He smiled.]

I can't say I'm much better. And that doesn't mean I'll go easy on you!

[soundsofdrums]

I'd loathe it if you did. [He gives him a small grin.]

[oncoming]

[His smile doesn't falter. It was almost like a dream to him and he didn't want to wake up. Maybe he finally did something right.

He found himself at a loss for words. What does he say now?]

[it was strange. Usually he'd know what to do, but the Master was a completely different person and it was like starting anew again.]

So um. What do we do now?

[soundsofdrums]

Are you honestly asking that?

[He rolls his eyes. The Master has never properly dated anyone in his life before and even he knows what to do. Closing the few steps in between them, he grabs the Doctor by his robe collar and drags him in, kissing him hard. Just as he'd always wanted to.]

[oncoming]

[The kiss is sudden but something he should have expected. It had a different feeling to him. The Doctor gladly returns the kiss, wrapping his arms around The Master.]

[soundsofdrums]

[It's a long while before he pulls away, giving a little bite to the Doctor's lower lip.]

There we go.

[oncoming]

[he takes a while to catch his breath after he pulls away. His eyes locked with the Master's own, almost searching for something. What, though, he wasn't sure.

After a few seconds though, The Doctor pulls the Master closer, hugging him and burying his head into the other's shoulder.. He wasn't sure why though. It just seemed right.]

[soundsofdrums]

Oh, wonderful, you're clingy. [And yet his 'complaining' doesn't stop him from wrapping his arms around him in return.]

[oncoming]

Hey I did say I'm not much better than you, Mr. Jealousy. [he chuckles, not really in the mood to break away yet.]

[soundsofdrums]

That's hardly the point. [Eyerooooll.]

[oncoming]

[The Doctor raises his head to meet the Master's, giving him a short kiss before finally breaking away from the hug.]

But it's to prove a point. I'm not sure what I'm trying to prove, but when I know, I'll tell you.

[soundsofdrums]

Eloquent as always, Doctor.

[oncoming]

Oi, shut it. It just didn't come as I expected it to. Rarely ever happens, but I suppose it has to happen every once in a while. [a shrug]

[soundsofdrums]

[He flicks the Doctor's forehead.] Idiot.

[oncoming]

As if you're any better than me. [and he ruffles the Master's hair in return]

[soundsofdrums]

I'm a brilliant genius. You're the idiot who used to copy off of me in our first few years. [Before their rivalry really started heating up.]

[oncoming]

A genius?! Hah, are you serious? What about the time when you copied off of me in Transfiguration and Astronomy. I would never copy off of you, unless I was willing to fail.

Or the time when your books started to sing Christmas carols. Who stopped it? Me!

[except maybe sometimes. Like Potions because who cares about that???]
