THE LOVE LETTER MEME




It’s such a nice night, you couldn’t resist going out for a bit. As you walk around, you see a letter on the ground. What does it say?


“When the night sky wears the moon as
its pendant, I shall await you
at the dock.”


This is exactly where you are standing! Did someone drop it here, knowing you’d pass by? But who could that be?

1 – Post with your character, who just found the Love Letter.

Earlier in the day, someone else received the exact same letter… But they lost it somehow, and it handed up in your hands! And now, they’re headed to the dock for the rendezvous.

2 – Tag around! As you go to the rendezvous point, you see someone holding the Love Letter you received earlier… So it’s them who sent it? But they think it’s you who sent it. Awkward!

3 – Play out any scenario! Is it someone you know, a total stranger, someone famous?

4 – Don’t hesitate to change the setting or the time of the day!

[Edgar couldn't recall the last time he'd received such a letter. Probably sometime during his fifteenth year, when such things were acceptable and the norm, and encouraged. Over ten years later, when norms have changed and such letters weren't passed between adults, an amused Edgar decided to forgo normal customs and respond.

He couldn't help laugh at the writing, though. Sounded like something he may have wrote as a lad. Even so, he waited at the dock, just as the letter stated. It wasn't long before he felt someone approaching.

Could it have been the one who wrote the letter? Only one way to find out...

Without saying anything, he cleared his throat, lifted the letter in his hands toward the light and rattled the paper.]

[Even though it was a fairly nondescript piece of paper, she recognized it immediately as her letter. She took a few steps closer, but then stopped in her tracks when she finally recognized that silhouette.]

[He was innocent -- for a change -- and simply played along with what he thought was a letter delivered in lighthearted fun. The tone changed once he realized she may have been the original author.]

This is the letter I received -- [He gestured to it.] -- and in it were instructions to meet me here. I presume you were the one who wrote it, no?

[Nor would he have written something quite like it. Maybe cheesier. Maybe more risque. But definitely not that! And besides, as much of a flirt as he was, he wouldn't be so bold as to invite her to meet him somewhere dark and intimate. Locke would never forgive him.]

I fear that you and I are the victims of a prank.

[You can never know with Edgar. She stared him down for a good minute as she debated the truthfulness of his words but if there's one thing she knows about Edgar: he's not subtle.]

I think you're right... [She started to look around, maybe whoever set them up was around.]
