[ They're stuck in Yorktown for a month while a new Enterprise is built up from scratch, and Sulu knows he should be grateful for the extended shore leave. It could be longer, given the distance that they are from the closest full-time construction dock, and after nearly having the youth sucked out of him, nearly crashing head-long into the planet's surface from a sheer drop and almost losing Ben and Demora, he needs the break. He should be grateful and he is, for the time that he now has to spend with his family that he hadn't had before, but he's found in the last week of it that he's gotten antsy. He keeps looking out at the stars, keeps being uncomfortable about having to put on civvies instead of his uniform, keeps wishing for that distance from Ben that he'd had for the last three years.

He loves his husband, but he loves his daughter more and they both know it. They both know that Hikaru's heart is always going to be too big for just one person, too desperate to be out in the great expanse of space to be comfortable in married monotony without feeling trapped.

Demora has a play-date all day and Ben's tied up with work, and it gives Hikaru the day. He only intended to go for a walk, to shake off how antsy he's been, but his feet take him straight where he's wanted to go for weeks, without his consent. Jim Kirk's temporary apartment; He knocks without hesitation. He doesn't wait for an invitation when the door opens, instead going in to cup the back of Jim's head with his hand and press their lips together with a longing desperation for a spark of something kinetic. In the same beat as going in for the kiss, Hikaru presses Jim against the wall, just out of the doorway. ]

[It's a mutual decision on both their parts, knowing that a known relationship between the Princess of Altea and a Paladin of Voltron (the Black Paladin no less), would be nothing short of problematic. It would give enemies in the know more cannon fodder to target Shiro in the heat of battle, and the notion that Allura's own stake in Voltron is not only due to the legacy of her people and the safety of the universe, but something much more immediately personal would...well, it would certainly not fair well. For either of them.

And it's not something the rest of the team should know either. Coran, as loving and as caring of a man he is, would certainly give her an earful as the royal advisor, and as for the others the concern is less about the teasing (which is, admittedly, also a factor) and more about whether or not they'd misinterpret some of her actions as favouring Shiro's opinions as a lover as opposed to him being the decisive head of Voltron.

And while there are times her heart aches and longs to be more open about their relationship, to keep from having to skirt around each other in public, to be able to reach out to him, wake up next to him in the same bed without having to tiptoe around at night like teenagers, there's also a certain thrill to it. She's always known she wasn't going to have a normal sort of relationship, so, may as well make the most of what she currently has.

It's one of those quiet lulls in the evening at the Castle of Lions. Everyone else is doing their own thing to settle down, and Allura, hair damp from having just finished showering, finds Shiro sitting in one of the main rooms, with either a tablet or book in hand. She almost walks past him, the more sensible part of her knowing she should wait until everyone else has retreated to their rooms, but the temptation is too great, the peacefulness of a quiet evening giving her a sense of security and, in knowing that the room is at least empty for now, she may as well take advantage of it.

She approaches him from behind, touching his shoulder gently to alert him to her presence before wrapping her arms around his shoulders in a lax, comfortable embrace, chin resting on his shoulder to look at whatever it is he's reading.]

It's been quiet today.

It had been some time since he and Squall found out they were soulmates. Squall didn't want anyone to know, and Zell still felt like his relationship wasn't anyone else's business (even with that library girl, she and Zell had met up in secret for a while). Sometimes he'd been caught looking at Squall, but he didn't think anyone actually knew the reason and he'd never explained.

He still slept in Squall's bed whenever he could, and he was getting used to the feeling of being in each others arms as sleep overtook them both. He had also gotten used to sex with Squall now, but it still excited him every time he heard the noises and saw the expressions Squall made during the act.

Zell still hadn't told his ma that Squall was his soulmate. Every time he thought about telling her, he worried that she would figure out what they had done at her house. He'd wait a little longer, but she would definitely be the first person he told. And he trusted his ma not to tell anyone else if he asked her not to.

But while Zell didn't mind their close, private relationship, it made dating difficult and Zell really wanted to take Squall on a date. A fairly new concert hall had opened up in Deling City and it was huge with private balconies. He thought it would be perfect, that is if Squall liked any of the new bands that popped up since the radio tower was fixed.

He himself like a few of the bands, and one day he tried to casually talk about them, seeing if Squall like any of them. Fortunately, he did and Zell's eyes lit up in excitement. Though he didn't tell Squall exactly why, just talked about a couple of their songs for a bit.

But the date was set. They had a concert coming up and Zell made sure to buy two tickets for one of the private balconies, under a fake name of course. They were still pretty well-known after saving the world.

Zell had made sure Squall would be free from his duties tonight, spending nearly the entire day helping him out however he could. He didn't explain to Squall why exactly he was doing it, and when Quistis questioned him, he waved her off, saying he was bored. He didn't know if she believed him or not, Quistis was always really smart, but she didn't press him further.

Just as Squall was finishing up, Zell left to grab a bag from his room. They still had some time before seating at the concert began. It should be plenty of time to travel there and change into the clothes he'd bought.

When he returned to the office, he looked around, seeing if Quistis was still there and if he'd need to make an excuse to talk to Squall alone.

To say that Harry shouldn't become involved with one of the younger members of their organization was an understatement. Even more so considering this particular young woman was the daughter of an old friend. Someone that Harry had lost when Carey had been too young.

Harry should really unlock the door to her office and send Carey on her way. This had gone on long enough and she could already see the disapproving looks Merlin would give her if he found out. No one did disapproving looks quite like him.

Harry sighed and took a step back, though her hands remained where they were on Carey's hips. "I can't tell you how many rules we're breaking right now."
